I don't want to lose access to the childrens ward

T^T so unfortunate that the starlight children ward will most likely become unavailable after the event is over, it's a new thing that I didn't know existed and those kids are so adorable that I didn't want to leave, it's nice having a quest chain that isn't "go here, kill this" and one where all you are doing is cheering up a bunch of kids over the holidays..

I hope that the ward atleast opens up again every year from now on so we can go back and tell the children new stories and bring them presents

you can ask a friend to make a second char and marry this second char. your friend goes inside the childrens ward and never ever leaves it again (he has to log off inside). then you can use your ring from the eternal bond to teleport inside the childrens ward whenever your friends second char is online for the rest of the games life cycle o.o/

I'm pretty sure they remove the instance when the event is over.

Once the event is over a plague will wash over the children's ward and it will have to be sealed off forever to prevent an outbreak.

Maybe we'll see them again on Pearl Lane!

I remember reading once someone had logged off inside the 18th floor room where the developers are hanging out from the 2nd anniversary event. Then when they logged back in months later, he was still at the 18th floor. The room will most likely still exists, just no access to it.

I hope they have a nanny because they'll be suffering some severe abandonment when mom/dad is away for a week idling or farming.

That could. You just would need to add "NPC wive" so the male player characters are not left out of the system.
There could be Family Daily/weekly Quests where you need to provide or perform various tasks :p

I agree!! I want to visit them often! Even if the quest is no longer available! >.<

Generally I don't like kids and stuff, but I really like the quest and the ward and the sick children. They're so adorable, I'd love to be able to visit them and even adopt one. My house is in the Goblet so it's not far from Ul' Dah.

Same, took screenshots of all the children with my character over the story, pictures of story time, pictures of the decorations, it is sort of amazing how attached i can imagine my god slaying war ending hero being to a group of regular innocent kids after everything she went through and all the loss she suffered in Heavensward.

Taking presents and telling stories to a bunch of adorable innocent children is probably the best therapy imaginable in the sometimes incredibly dark and unforgiving land of Eorzea she has been trying to protect.

Can't they please keep that small area around? Even if the quest is removed? I'd like to roleplay going there and visiting the kids. Please please!? :3

I didn't want to sell the presents they gave me at first, made me feel bad. :/

I can confirm that the room still exists. My wife logged off in there on the last day and logged in yesterday and the room was still there. She took a bunch of pictures before leaving. The sadness!!!

Lol i have a character in there aswell, I was more in the mind to have actual full time access that wasn't a hidden area like something out of .hack but i suppose that would be too much to hope for, i do hope that they open up the ward annually at the very least.

I'd like to see the WoL getting involved in these more social adventures in Eorzea. It's all fine and well defeating Primals, but the greatest threats we face are the internal fears and doubts we have. Figures who can bring hope to the hearts of those doubting themselves or who are in fear, can do more good in a single day than overcoming an opponent in combat can.

It would be great if the Children's Ward could open it's doors permanently and provide another stream of side quests for WoL's who are tired of running errands for beast tribes.
