Squadrons are... underwhelming

Perhaps not a shocking revelation, but I only just leveled mine enough so they could attempt a level 40 mission. They succeed and all is well! Except... that's it for the entire week. Now that mine are all max level, I literally have no reason to give them even the slightest bit of attention besides one mission every Tuesday. That just seems like such a waste of content. Yes, I know they eventually want us to take them into dungeons, but I'll believe that when Egi glamours become a thing.

I suppose this is more another thing from 3.x where the concept was better than the execution. Hopefully, they add a little more to them sooner rather than later.

It's a work in progress. Of course it's just missions every 18 hours so far, but it's just the first step. Would you rather not have a feature until it's 100% done?

At this point, yes. Because SE loves to dish out half-baked stuff that kinda sucks.
Why not release things that's pretty much done, good and THEN expand on it to make it better?

Yes, actually. There's no purpose to Squadrons now. Releasing one of them just to re-level another isn't fun. I like the squad I have just fine. They just have nothing to do until Tuesday. So it's a piece of content in 3.4 that'll now be left to gather dust until maybe 3.5 or 4.0. I would have preferred they put the time and resources into something else and just held off Squadrons until it was more complete. It doesn't need to be perfect, but I should still have a reason to do something with them more than once a week. Even just bumping the mission allotment would help. The rewards aren't that amazing. So I don't see why they restricted them like they have.

I don't think it'd be so bad if the priority missions had some better rewards. Having a personal FC action is great, but the tokens only last for an hour.

stockpile the exp bonus scrolls for fast leveling in 4.0? get the food bonus scrolls so you don't have to waste FC points on buffs if you raid? get better chemistries for your squad members so you can rake in the materia/mgp/gil/blue scrip? there's still a bit you can do each week.

I think it's also bad that they've said they wanted to release some actual content behind the grand company rank ups too. After waiting all of this time to finally get a new GC rank we got this...

Get good Chemistries, and you can get sick returns from farming low level missions.

Ive gotten over 6k blue gatherer scrips from them so far and maybe 1-2k craft.

It's not based on what mission you do. Like I said earlier, it's from Chemistry, and farming those procs. You need to get good Chemistry on your recruits.

I got a feeling that whatever future stuff they got planned for squads it'll need them to be leveled up quite a bit.

Even if they're max level there's still reasons to send them out, the weekly mission for the GC buff items obviously, but after that you can also send them out on other missions to get new chemistry. For example my squad has 20% chance to bring back gatherers scrips, 10% chance to bring back GC seals, 40% chance to find DoH materia and a squad member who increases the activation rate of other squad members chemistry by 20%. I'm currently sending out my other 4 members so they can build some good interlocking chemistries too.

Slightly inaccurate, they actually last 2 hrs. You get 5 for a total of 10hrs, but you get to control the ability of when you wish to use them, which is great for a casual player that doesn't have the opportunity to get the most out of a FC using the action.
