Broken Triple Triad Competition System

I am on Tonberry and every single tournament, a guy named Jin Seven will always come top place with max 40/40 wins and I am sure those of you from other servers must have experience something similar as well. It is clear that these "top players" did not get there by skill, but by cheating. I have seen players paying other players to lose to them and also those who (may) have different accounts to cheat as well. These players are often playing against the same character every tournament (eg Jin Seven always play against the same guy at reset every week, getting all wins and top rank). This system is BROKEN to say the least and its really unfair for those of us who want a fair go.

Needless to say, many people will also try to cheat because its the only way to get the platinum cards and lots of MGP every tournament.

So yes, PLEASE FIX IT OR REMOVE THE TOURNAMENTS ALTOGETHER BECAUSE THERE IS NO POINT OF HAVING ONE IF CHEATERS AND EXPLOITERS ARE GOING TO COME FIRST PLACE EVERYTIME!!!

Assume you are not aware, but the tournament system has been like this ever since it was introduced, ie a complete joke. it's quite worrying how SE did not consider it would turn out this way when they introduced it, a scoring system where you can choose your opponents and is largely swayed by how early after reset you play your matches, rather than, err I don't know, who is actually a batter card player

tbh I don't know anyone that actually bothers with it any more

It's very telling what the devs think since they nerfed how many points you can score from NPCs in order to "encourage" people to play with others.

I have only been playing for about 4 months or so so I don't know how long this has been going on for. But all in all, it is really broken and my main aim is to raise awareness about this so that SE MAY do something about it because there is just no point in playing triple triad competition at the moment because the top winners almost always have complete win every single tournament.

So yes, the more people agree and discuss with this post, the better. Hopefully SE will see that 'a lot' of people are really upset and annoy with this broken system and do something about it.

What I think is absolutely pathetic also is just how many points the feeder accounts get for losing. The current tournament I just finished my matches for so far has one win trading duo. I won 42 of 50 matches against NPC's because I'm bad and just started to get in to triple triad. The losing account with 0 wins out of 50 matches has 97 points less than me. Zero wins got them over 3,000 points... Two people got less points for winning 32/50 and 28/50 of their matches. You're not rewarding people for playing others you're rewarding players for cheating and taking the easy way. It is obvious that win trading can't or won't be fixed so lets at least try to make something better and greatly reduce the points for losing in player vs. player matches similar to vs. NPC losses.

Alas, it has been broken from the start. And people have been pointing this out to no response since then too.

On the bright side one can pretty easily earn 2 or 3 packs of cards per tourney to get a shot at the four cards locked in there. Over the last year I've gotten 3/4 of them, and three dupes also. Works out to 6/60 drop, or a 1:10 chance. Not too shabby.

Seriously this hasn't been fixed yet? I've been gone for 14months..... wtf has yoshi been doing? This was requested by many players near the launch of the tournament... and guess what the dev team were goofing around with that minion rubbish verminion and it turned out trash when they could of fixed the Triple Triad Tourney -_____- They always seem to keep wanting to add more and more instead of trying to fix or improve/update the current content.

What did you expect? Their idea of a challenge for playing against NPCs is to make every new opponent in each patch play with Chaos and/or Random.

My two consolation platinum packs for playing this week coughed up the Lightning card, giving me the last of the four rare cards from the Tourney.

It took 67 packs to get all four cards, and I had four duplicates also. So 8/62 was the hit rate for me on the rare cards. It took me just over a year playing all the Tourneys to do it (I had a few good weeks with four pack rewards).

It feels so very good to know that next Tuesday I can ignore playing the 30-50 matches, and need never grind this again. Free! Huzza!

Lightning's the only tournament card I've ever gotten from a Platinum pack. Unfortunately I already had her from Tataru so it was frustrating.

A couple of easy to code fixes that might go a long way towards the health of the tournaments

1) Reduce the MGP rewards for the top places. Many of the cheaters do it only for the easy MGP and don't need the cards. Replace the lost MGP with some more card packs, toss in a couple Mythril/Gold packs
2) Remove the bonus points awarded based on your opponents rank on the board. It's sickening to see people with 0/40 records place in the top 20 only because they 'lost' against the #1 person on the board every match. Let the people who win trade on Monday have the same chances to place high as the people who win trade during the 30 minutes after reset.

Welp 3.5 finally fixes this. Now opponents are chosen for you at the card hall

It doesn't let you repeatedly play the same player either. They didn't just fix one thing in this patch, they tackled everything. Don't need to play so many matches for tournament now. Also no NPCs use random rules any more and you get way more MGP back for selling your spare duplicate cards than before.

Triple Triad will be great again.

This is great news. Also, the Battlehall may be filled now that people know there's an actual point to doing the tournaments.

Nope not sure. But I'll wager a few MPG that with each Torney having 4 prizes, they are the four rare cards cycling through in changing orders.

For example: Lightning goes to the 1-3 winners of the Dural, next time it goes to the 4-6 of the Spinner's, then 7-10 of the Rowena, and then 10-20 of Mandeville. That they would lock 12 more cards behind the tourney would go against just about every bit of fan feedback they have gotten on card path acquirement.

But I might be totally wrong, and will be back to the grind on Tuesday. At least it's only 20 matches, and I can slug it out with a Battlehall NCP without the win traders having an advantage any more.

May not work if you're placed in a random instance? I don't think the battle hall has only one room. Regardless, you'd waste a bit of time constantly switching zones.
