Duty Finder queue icon

So... what is it, exactly? What does it depict? I've never been able to figure it out. :confused:

Anyone have an answer? Or a theory?

you mean the monster face? or the Dungeon cave entrance icon? Or the magnifying glass icon :P

I assume you mean the duty finder icon when you are waiting for a queue to pop?

I zoomed in on it and it seems to look like a ticket stub to me. I guess you are waiting in line with your ticket? xD

Either that or it is a square Ahriman head....cannot unsee it now...a square ahriman with a square eye lol

I always thought it was supposed to represent an open door... but Miste's image clearly disproved that, it really does look like a ticket. :D

A ticket does make sense, given that you are 'queuing up' to enter an 'attraction' of sorts. Metaphor at it's finest. ;)

Kind of looks like a wristwatch for me, like it says 'Waiting for the queue to pop'.

Did they ever figure it out because it looks like the hilt of a sword to me.

DF icon is a bench/stool and heat of battle is focused "screenshot" of exp bar going up.

I think is supposed to be the same things that you see on the FFXIV 1.0 trailer where they check the "cards" to get into a duty.

Now that you mention it, the EXP bar with less than 1 level-worth of rested EXP is yellow on dark yellow. It's probably that. (it is the exp up buff after all)

Since you que for a DUTY, I'd guess it is a guy carrying a box. Duty, job, you know.. From bird-POV

That is indeed the one I meant. And the ticket stub is a good one - I never thought to consider the negative space as the intended image. The best I could come up with was an opened treasure chest, but it always seemed too wonky to really be that.

I always thought that the DF icon was a weird floppy disk. Why? I'm not sure... Maybe it saved your place for a queue or something?

Heat of Battle is definitely the EXP bar going up:

There's a lot of icons in this game I don't understand, and they're never explained either. They're just... there. They don't appear to serve any purpose either.

Guys. It’s a ballot box. You know, where you put your name when you’re in the running for something? Putting your name in the roster choice?

On closer look the DS icon resembles the ticket to one of these:

Which makes a lot of sense given that you are essentially taking a number and waiting in line.
