New Race/Character Customization Poll

I have made a poll on the topic, so that the devs can see a more realistic view of what it is we want in our game.

If you think Yoshi P should reconsider adding a new race for 4.0, or not, please vote.

I highly doubt any type of poll would change their mind on that particular thing. Take into considering the time it takes to put down a design they like, lore and everything that goes with it (including, but certainly not limited to place of origin), animations for jobs, making sure all gear is compatible without looking sloppy -

Coupled with the fact they said they're not adding a new race in 4.0, meaning they'd have to work on it now, from scratch -

That's just unrealistic to meet the vague deadline of summer 2017.

Not to be a negative nancy right off the bat, but the idea that this poll is a "more realistic view" is flawed because it is posted on the english section of the official forums. Many people don't use these forums, or even peruse them. I know promoting it through various hubs of users would help, but even then all you will get are the vocal minority and not truly access the masses of players who just play (although many of the also probably don't GAF about new races, but that's just me projecting stereotypes).

Also, if the poll does come back in a way you aren't expecting, don't be surprised.

I hope they have another in-game race poll. Although it appears to be too late for a new race in this upcoming expansion, I do hope they will consider adding a viera race in 5.0.

The only poll worth doing would have to be an in game poll , once per account.
The obvious reason being that only a small fraction of players frequent the forums .

That being said , i did vote.

At this point there'd have to be thousands of people requesting a new race for them to even consider it, they've already said they have no plans on adding a new race for 4.0 and they usually don't go back on something like that.

I just want to be able to make elves like Hilda. That's all I want. I don't care about a new race.

Give all hair to hair races and I'll be happy. I'd love to have the Miqo's dangley-doo haircut or the highlander's side ponytail or their bang-over one eye pony tail. Or just Lucia's hair.

I would of loved to specify that had I known! Sorry.

I'd much rather more customization, as far as hairs goes I would love for them to section them off in some ways. Like mixing the front of 1 style with the back of another or other possible extras. I would also like the option to flip styles, kinda odd we can only have hair say pulled to one side, let us mirror it and have it on the other.

HAHAHA, I know, right? Less than an hour ago, it was roughly 60 to 9 in favor of improved customization. Suddenly, out of nowhere, it's now 64 to 52 yet all the other categories have the same amount of votes and there's barely been any posts in this thread in that time frame. If this whole thing wasn't already a joke before, it most certainly is now.

Y: Since it is a race that was released at a later time, I think it is used in a decent rate. We also noticed that there are people who change their race with a phantasia without much hesitation… Maybe they have a lot of sense for fashion. First off, they've made it very clear we're not getting a new race in 4.0. Don't even waste your time asking, it's not going to happen. If they've decided at this point it won't be happening, it'd take way too long to reasonably expect one to be able to be implemented by now. Remember, Yugiri first appeared in 2.2. We had a baseline for how Au'ra were going to work in 2.2. We're approaching 3.5. This is simply not enough time to implement a new race. Second, there are far bigger things to be concerned about, and you didn't even include an option for "deal with other problems first" in your poll.

The poll was linked in-game in Ul'dah earlier today. Ul'dah on Balmung being the place where a lot of people fawn over Miqo'te and likely want Viera added for...less than pure and innocent reasons. I'm willing to bet that's why there's a sudden spike in the amount of people voting for Viera. Or perhaps the votes are simply being manipulated some other way?

I'd like to give the OP the benefit of the doubt, personally, but it's hard when there's a track record of ignoring popular opinion in favour of picking out the handful of posts that are in agreement and then largely ignoring the bulk that aren't.

Give us some real butts first! Then we can do Viera.

It probably won't because people keep posting the same 2000 similiar threads.........and the same
responses are saw in every single thread.
He's not giving us a race at 4.0, it's too late so there's no point in asking.
To make a race, like Viera or whatever takes A LOT OF TIME, and I'm sure they're
so far in SB to even care right now about adding it. Viera is not going to happen right now.

All I've gotta say is, the poll is still showing exactly what I expected for #1 vote spot.

Cant we get more faces and better customization about parts which make our races special? Like Au'Ra get better options for their horns, or different ears for Miqo'te. A slide for the Dhalmel Elezens (Neck) or more muscle aspects for Roegadyns??
That we are only able to choose 1 Tattoo and not many facial adds like beards. Highlanders are even lacking eyebrows, which is maybe their "specialty" but yet, I dont think it can hurt to have some.

I would also like to mention that MALE races have way less hair styles than Female. If you think about that most hair styles we got so far are unisex, but in the end they fit to 80% more to females.

I think we need more -

open areas

world events and DEF world bosses.

World bosses have always been a core part of the game play of FF franchise.
There's always been that ONE boss that is just ab out impossible to beat.

More random encounters. FATES are too generic.

Swimming

The sea should be playable and freely be able to travel.

Open areas that don't have invisible walls. (follow Archeage's model of sandbox style)

They're pretty rare in the game's lore and frowned upon in many regions. Furthermore they don't really offer anything unique - they'd literally just be things like short Hyur with Elezen ears.

Better to just update the existing options for the current playable races instead.
