Legally acquiring FC housing

So, if buying land off another player is against TOS, and houses are being sniped at reclamation release and then resold, how does one go about getting a free company house? We just hit rank 6 and would love a place to set up home, but it's all looking quite impossible, if not against rules. Any advice for a new FC leader?

Square's left things a bit confusing that's for sure. If you don't feel like wading through the mess of what is and isn't allowed, your best bet is to check the ward (and subdivision!) listings each time you're in one of the capital cities and look for a white price tag instead of a name next to a plot number. Make sure you're familiar with how to get to the subdivision areas if something pops up there. You've got a lot of competition on your server so you're going to have to rush it the moment you see it. Once at the plot, you'll need to access the placard in front of it to make the land purchase.

Yeah, I'm worried that since we are a small FC, we don't have the man power to check the city states regularly. These Gilgamesh folk don't mess around. I try to check on the hour, but I fear it's not enough. How do people get away with selling houses so often if it's against TOS?

At first it was a coinflip as to the GM you'd get saying it was ok or a no-go, then Yoshida mentioned not wanting high prices to resell (didn't want people profiting maybe, it was never made clear) and that GMs would keep on top of that. At this point I really don't know what's going on as ever after question after question on the subject they still have not taken a solid stance on the issue. As the housing reclamation timer is always running however, don't give up hope and keep up that checking. Supposedly we're looking at a whole new housing area too, although that's a hefty wait as it's with the next expansion coming summer of next year.

Let's get real - the housing market on Gilgamesh is ****ed. You won't be getting one unless you want to pay some gouger like 10x the value or you wait until they add housing in 4.0 and are available to purchase w/i 5 minutes of servers opening up on release day.

Yeah. And then there is this one FC who made alts and bought 4 different houses to be the "nightclub" or "store" or some such. My FC leader tried to contact a GM about it today and got an automated response saying that it was out of their juristiction and if we had more questions to go to the forums.

So wait. You can't buy or sell houses from players, but you can make fake FCs to monopolize the market? Sounds legit. Do the GMs only care about one aspect but not the other? Welp, there's that I guess.

I've noticed house flipping a few times on my server, the GMs have been very helpful and... said absolutely nothing about the issue. For all what Yoshida said, no one seems willing to actually crack down on it.

Keep an eye out OP, and try to check the wards in the early hours of the morning if you can. That's when I've seen them up the most, and even managed to snag one myself.

What happened was I was checking for house openings and noticed that there were FCs doing as Doc said:making sub-FC's out of alts and buying up houses. I contacted the GMs twice, when I directly told them what was happening, they told me that it was "outside their jurisdiction" and couldn't talk about it. They then told me to come to the forums if I had any suggestions lol.
What I don't get is that buying/selling houses to other players is considered a violation of the TOS's "inappropriate behavior" section in that it gives unfair advantages or hinders/ interrupts other players' gameplay experiences (at least this is what I've found online as an excuse for the rule). If this is the case, and that's the definition that they're going for for this section, then the monopolizing of housing plots by use of fake FCs is against this section and the TOS.
In my personal opinion, it is unfair and unreasonable that they ban buying/selling houses but won't even address this other issue.

What time in the morning would you suggest? Does the reclamation happen just once a day in the morning or every hour? Not sure how this works, but I wouldn't mind staking it out if there is decent chance.

It's happening at all times of the day and from what I've heard on the hour.

My FC leader snapped up a small plot in the Lavender Beds for our tiny FC in the wee hours of the morning on Nov 11th.

It's not impossible but it's difficult. You have to decide where you want the plot, keep the cash on you, and stalk the residential aetheryte network constantly.
