To my knowledge, there is no option to turn these notifications "on screen" to off. Or there is no UI option to move it out of the middle of the screen. If anyone knows how to go about this, I thank them in advance.
When you sign into Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn, the center of your screen is constantly being bombarded.
"Limsa Lominsa The Lower Decks"
"The Octant"
"Limsa Lominsa Aetheryte Plaza"
"The Octant" (Yes it said it twice)
"Bulwark Hall"
"Zephyr Gate"
"La Noscea Middle La Noscea"
"Zephyr Drift"
"Fate discovered nearby"
"You are 6 or more levels above the recommended level for this FATE.
To join, use the level sync function located in the duty list." (both in the chat log as well as the middle of the screen)
"FATE Joined"
"Summerford"
All of which happened in less than 55 seconds of gameplay.
I am not sure why this is needed.
1. It could easily be placed in the chat log if absolutely requied by someone. Not directly in the middle of the screen.
2. Having this seems to imply:
-Someone is missing/unable to use the mini map
-Someone is missing/unable to use the regular map
-Someone is missing/unable to read the chat log
-Someone is unaware by zone line, black screen and "now loading" icon that they are changing zones.
This stems much further into other aspects of gameplay, that could easily be placed in the chat log, if not added to an option to entirely remove.
"Retainer name has sold X item in the Location markets for # of gil (after fees)"
"Changes saved"
"Duty Registration Complete"
"Duty Commenced" (As well as sounds to notify the player)
"Quest Accepted" (As well as sounds to notify the player)
"Quest Complete"(As well as sounds to notify the player)
"The Cattery"
"You are doused with Poison"
"You hear something move in the distance"
"The Cattery will be sealed off in 15 seconds"
"The Cattery is sealed off"
"The Cattery is no longer sealed"
"The Loot list has been updated" (or whatever it says)
"A hidden door opens"
This implies:
-Someone is unable to see/use the status bar
-Someone is unable to see/use the loot system/notification/system
-Someone is unable to see/use the duty list system
The list goes on and on.
Please allow this to be removed, placed in the chat box, or added to the custom HUD system to move it out of the middle of the screen.

On top of this, there is no auto hide chat log.
Which further confuses me as to why these notifications are needed, as someone playing the game would certainly see the notifications in their chat log.
Currently there is only one method to turn off the chat log, and if someone uses that method, I feel it safe to assume, certainly do not want to see these notifications.

Also would be nice, to be able to turn off zone lines entirely. Not just by hiding all UI elements. I simply do not need them, as a map is plenty to suffice as an indication. Thank you. -

I agree. It drives me crazy when I am raiding and I have to see that my retainer sold 500gil worth of crap. I didn't need to see that right now.
ALL those annoying messages that show up in the middle of my screen should be able to be toggled off and I can just read them in my log. -

Retainer sales is literally the best message to appear on my screen. But the other stuff, especially zones and area names...like. Why. They're just annoying. Trust me, there are already enough things on your screen and a mini-map constantly up, we don't need all those messages, I agree.

I like this suggestion. I-personally, wouldn't turn it off because I rather like it. Especially when my retainer makes a sale. But I can see how it'd be distracting or something one tires of seeing.

Auto hide chat log is a system that is in place in XI, as well as was in place in XIV 1.0.Quote:

Then.. if anyone sent you a tell, or someone said something in say close enough to you, or what have you, the chat log would then reappear so that you would be able to read it. -

The ones that bug me the most are the big blue text in the middle of the screen telling me every single item I gather, despite that same info already being in two other places on the screen, the mining or logging window, and the chat box. (Ok, for fishing, it's only one other place, since that doesn't have its own window.) Plus, for BTN/MIN, I'd already know what I got anyway, since I selected the item myself, and the sound indicates whether I got a failure, normal success, or high quality success (even if I weren't watching the running totals in the Mining/Logging window).

To me, it's just ugly clutter that blocks my view, that I try very hard to ignore. :( -

My turret targeting reticle on MCH gets completely blocked by the text if it is triggered at the same time I'm trying to place said turret, and then I end up having to wait until the text fades to see what I'm doing.
