Ala Mihgo had some mountain regions so it would be perfect. Like MT Gazette.

Nope. No one likes Khimari.
So cute! I approve!
I wouldn't mind that at all. Make it so!
I wouldn't argue with it, be the closest we get to an actual beast race. I mean, yeah I understand it may take some reworking for gear on a completely new race but kinda tired of pure human with cat ears or a skin blemish.
I don't think there will be a new race in the expansion, the Au ra came over from Doma after it was occupied by the garleans, Ala Mhigo has been occupied for ages now, if there was a new race there then they would already be in Eorzea in places like little Ala Mhigo.
I want something else that isn't a feline, so no.
To extrapolate further, that official artwork of the female Ronso is very similar to Roegadyn Females, both in physical build and facial features.
That causes the same argument that used against Viera to come up; it's too similar to an existing race, except instead of being Miqo'te with different ears and tail, it's Roagadyn with different ears and a tail.
And, again, I'm so tired of the animal races repeatedly defaultimg to some kind of cat. I understand cats are the most popular pets in Japan, but I see it in Western RPGs, too, and I just want another animal option brought in if another race is added to 4.0 since I'm tired of cats!
Who needs ronso when we have roegadyn?
We also have cats already.
Burmencians, Viera, Ronso, I really don't care so long as they can look (a) fierce, and (b) distinct. Which seem to both be things that SE is dead set against.
In the case of Ronso, they could just be the sort of 'Highlander' clan of Miqote. Otherwise, may as well go for something a bit less feline in appearance.
No, we don't need furries.
Not true. At 255 in every stat Kimahri was still weak along with Lulu. They didn't have the innate tools to handle mega bosses while Rikku, Wakka, Tidus, Yuna and sometimes Auron very much did. Long story short, Ronso Rage and Fury were completely why Lulu and Kimahri fell out of favour. Funnily enough, Kimahri is only useful in one fight and that's the forced story fight with his clansmen... and many many people have beaten them without ever leveling Kimahri once in one character only/ no sphere grid challenge runs, so even then his potential was terrible.
I guess I'm no one.
He's easily one of my favorite characters in the series, in aesthetics, personality, and in gameplay. It was cool how he could excel at literally any skill path.
I back this 100%, but really I'd back anything that isn't 90% human.
He has well-rounded stats and while his limit break isn't the best, the consistent damage you could dish out as either a spellcaster or a physical tank (depending which tree you went down) more than made up for it.
So, because one gets a term, and the other hasn't yet, anyone who likes a race that has some amount of fur is a sexual deviant, while anyone who likes animalistic features (in whatever capacity) is nonetheless fine so long as they are furless animals / animal-like humanoids?
Or are they rated on a scale of deviancy based on fur length? Like, a short-furred humanoid, approximately arm-hair length but in greater thickness, would be a mild deviant, while longfurred (someone who wants to, for kicks, play some manner of hairy swap monster) would be a high-end case of fetishism? Just trying to understand this.
So.... You basically playing a peachy skinned monster girl excludes you?
Actually, nekomimi designs are very much furries, and very much are a fetishized character design. Any animal characteristics added to a human form can constitute a "furry," or anthropomorphic personification of an animal.
It doesn't make you gross for liking Au Ra or Miqo'te, either. It just means you like the look of character, nothing more.
Stop shaming and dissasociating people for liking harmless character design styles, especially while flaunting your own character of one such style.
not entirely certain it is official art to be honest...

As i recall Female Ronso were very much like their male counter parts, minus the mane and ability to grow a horn. The one showed previously also seemed to missing her muzzle/ snout that Kimari still obviously has.
As stated on Wikifur: Catgirls are generally not considered a "furry," character or person wise, as their animal traits are simply cute add-ons to an otherwise human character.
However, there are exceptions; for example, Natsuki Sasahara from Hyper Police is considered to be of furry interest due to her personality and instincts, which are significantly more feline than the standard nekomimi.
In addition, the "furriness" of catgirls varies from fan to fan, with some accepting catgirls as furries.
Miqo'te are actually touching that point of being furry characters. Several characters in this game do cat like things, Miah Molkot who can't help but mix "nyaa" with every word she says, the two races both have intense sense of smell as stated in the final fantasy wiki (quick example would be the woman looking for her carbuncle in mordohna, sniffing around for him.) and a good amount of their actions reflect those of a cat (sitting emote for males, sleeping for both male and females look like cat positions, the angry emote for females causes their tails to raise up like a cats responsively, traits of a normal cat). Deny it if you want, these are furries, but do not mix interest with fetishism. I don't have to look up the wiki for furry definition for its culture, you can do that on your own.
My favorite part about this thread is that people are essentially using the same arguments I use when I argue against adding Viera i.e. "They shouldn't add something similar to what we already have" (which in the case of Viera is just cosplaying Hyur like Mi'qote and Au Ra).
Maybe we're not so different after all.
Actually scratch that. That's my second favorite thing. My actual favorite thing about these Ronso/Viera threads are people thinking that they're "above" Ronso because the're supposedly designed to appeal to furries yet "girl with animal bits attached" has been an incredibly huge fetish for decades.
Ahh, I suppose that makes a lot of sense. I mean, it is a lot of hours, so what works for you, in whatever capacity, works for you...
For me, it's the depth of the character I imagine when playing it, or that second only to the animation quality (I liked the physique and the practical running animations of the female miqote back in 1.x onward, and when just due to static needs this character eclipsed my other (male) in gear levels and level progression, it's stayed my main since). I just ended up really liking the story that sort of formed in my head for this character over 1.x, and while I liked my male character as well, she was hard to let sit and when time constraints made me choose between the two, female character it was.
I think you missed the part where having a character in an MMO does not equate to a sexual fetish, unless it does for you... in which case good luck with your Au'ra :)
I chose my character because I thought he looked cool, and I think playing human characters are boring. I'm not a furry or a neko or whatever term you want to use, and neither are a lot of people.
Ronso, or another beast-like race (wolfman?) would be really cool, and have been part of MMOs before (Tauren and worgen from WoW as examples), and the people who play them are not furries.
