Not only do CNJs have native cures, which likely will be boosted by a trait, they also have an ability to boost magic attack exclusive to them (which should be a THM ability now that they're, ya know, magic attackers with no native heals). I like all the ability changes but it seems like they too a huge dump on THM.
It is really disappointing to me. Sacrifice is really important for self survivability. Oh well.. :/
THM did pick up a Bloodbath esque ability for magic damage, though. Still, THM will not have the same degree of survivability post 1.20.
You can still use cure. It's not an exclusive spell.
The point of releasing the info early is for the sake of feedback. Is the statement of their opinion not infact feedback even if you disagree?
The reality of this game is that mages are in short supply as there only are two classes, but the function of a healer is vital to an exp party. Sure, THM can cross class a single cure that gains potency with level, but it's doubtful that will be able to keep the pace with a standard party. So now parties will be hampered by a lack of healing power.
I feel bad for anyone who didn't have thm 50 pre this patch so rush while you can still back up cure. You can still cross class a single target cure, but you're not going to be wanted as much I'm sure.

Granted my thm was only 28... but after the stat changes in 1.19 sacrifice seemed bloody awful. The hp required to cast it almost negated the HP you got back, and throw in the horrible mp cost and it was almost detrimental to use.
As is you can still grab the base cure spell from CNJ... and I dunno if anyone else noticed but it seemed like MRD lost almost all of it's aoe abilities so now THM/BLM looks to be the best option for AOE damage...
Some of the things people are citing for THM are not available until we get BLM in 1.21...
I prefer to use Sacrifice III when I'm playing as Gladiator. To lose that spell would mean adapting to different alternatives that I don't really like. I guess its my personal preference. I hope we don't lose that spell. It might probably make solo play for THM harder. This is just my speculation.
