Primal Horses Flying

Whatever happened to that? SE first mentioned this over a year ago, but it's been a long time since they've said anything about it. I hope they haven't forgotten, the Ramuh music is my favourite, so I would love to be able to ride it more often.

PS5 MAYBE?

That would be nice, I love the sitting animation (side saddle) on the primal horses for my hyur, so flying like that would be great. They could get sparkly flying effect wings, similar to the stuff they have around their hooves. Or just fly like fenrir.

That last suggestion, that's what I was thinking. They could just change the elemental effects around their feet to be a longer path when flying.

Well kirin can fly because he sprouts magical wings, i suppose they can do the same.

The air horse needs to sprout wings, cause Garuda. :P

IIRC they mentioned something about flying tank mounts like way back which has also not happened so either they are still working on these or they were scrapped.

I wonder if Sleipnir will fly too.

Some sources say that in the myths Sleipnir could run in the air, so it wouldn't be too far fetched. Would make more sense than a flying turtle in my opinion.

I found someone spinning in place on the turtle and sent a tell to make sure they were ok IRL. That's how I learned about it's insane flying animations.

I think all mounts should fly if they can make something like that a thing.

I didn't spend all that effort and time gettimg a sand drake to never have the chance to ride him :(

Pretty sure it was confirmed that by 4.0 that ugly mount will in fact fly. Plaguing the air with its disgusting self as well as the earth.

My assumption has been that as long as new Primal Birds are coming out, they won't make the horses fly, since they would distract from the shiny new things. If we do get fly Primal Horses (and I really hope we do), it's likely to be after the final Warring Triad primal comes out. So maybe 3.55?

I want to ride my Boreas elsewhere besides just non-HW zones every blue moon. :c

It isn't possible to ride a pony in HW areas???

I get that it isn't as efficient or cool to use as the other flying mounts. But, they are usable for most things in HW areas.

As for the turtle? Never should have flown IMO. Fenrir? Maybe. I have both and had both before they could fly.

Primal ponies and tank mounts can stay on the ground too. I have all the ponies, including nightmare, the DRK mount and almost done the PLD one too. I have some skin in the game as the saying goes.

If it should be able to fly physically or for lore, I'm down with it flying. Otherwise, I vote no.

Imagine all the fun if we get swimming and underwater stuff? Do we have to make everything swim too?

You have to fly to certain important areas in the Sea of Clouds and the Churning Mists, for example, so my favorite non-Chocobo mount is useless there.

It's also awkward trying to gather on a ground mount in Heavensward areas. Even if all the nodes can be accessed without flight, which not all of them are, they are spaced so far apart.

I still can only imagine the DRK panther/Couerl mount flying by spinning it's tentacle whisker things around like some kind of helicopter.

I would honestly say they ARE useless, How often do you actually visit old areas if you aren't leveling (even then there is palace) or aren't doing hunts (for some reason)

I would prefer them to have feathered wings, rather then the Kirin 'fairy' wings. But yes, I am also eagerly awaiting my Garuda primal mounts ability to fly :3

This'd be really cool, though if/when they finally get around to it, it's more likely they'll just do it as they did with Kirin - for consistency purposes and all that. At most we may see them run atop their elemental hoof swirls like Fenrir does, but it's far more likely they'll just sprout fairy wings like Kirin.

So long as they fly though, they could be propelled by Nyancat rainbow colors of all things and I'd be happy. ; ;

Elemental hoof swirls, now that I can get behind too. I just don't want straight copy-pasta wings from Kirin that's all. The wings make sense on Kirin, not the others.

Personally, I think that they either need to give ALL mounts the ability to fly or, at the very least, add a new mount roulette that will always choose a flying mount in flying areas, but can mix in landbound mounts when in non-flying areas. I just don't have the macro space to include both Flying Mount Roulette and Mount Roulette on my crosshotbars!

I kinda hope they go with the "all mounts fly" option, though, just 'cause I'd want to see how creative they get in making some of them (like Goobue or drake mounts) fly.
