Checked out other games lately? Pretty much all other RPGs (Dragon Age for 1) a Bard is a singer who also uses a bow. It fits in nicely.

The DPS ability mixed with aoe group buffs whats not to love, all archer needs is a reasonable ws to burst some dmg.
