So I have really been enjoying the Alexander - of the Creator instances and since their arrival, I have been eagerly anticipating the much more difficult Savage modes.
Upon finally unlocking the first Raid of the bunch "Eye of the creator - Savage" I was hyped! I took my gear lv up past 250, Watched one of the guides on youtube extensively, and even splashed out the Gil for some food and potions just for that extra edge. What could possibly go wrong?
I hit the raid finder and then I see there are various options to choose from. Naturally I havn't done this before I'll run practice mode! Over an hour later . . . not a hint of a single person in sight.
Well I'm fairly confident that I have the mechanics all memorised, so lets just jump straight into the fight. Again . . . waiting around for over an hour or so, but at least there's a sight of some people. Where's everyone else at I ask? I thought there'd be a lot more than this. At over two hours later and still seeming as though the queue is going nowhere, I eventually call it a night . . . extremely frustraited with the feeling I've been wasting my time.
The next day I try again, and between 1-2 hours I finally have some luck! To put this fight experience in a nut shell though, it all goes wrong and after being "refurbished" for the 3rd time, everybody rage quits. Back to the drawing board . . .
So anyway, a whole week later of queuing every night and having only ever gotten in twice just to have the latter happen, I'm running out of things to do in my waiting times and my frustraition grows, yet my patience is running thinner. The closest thing I can equate my experience with this new content to is "the long line simulator" ride from an early episode of south park.
My verdict? The Queue system for these Alexander - the creator (Savage) raids are broken, and here's why:
Why seperate those who have finished the raid from those who havn't with the options "Completed" and "Not completed" in the raid settings? That's seperating everybody into a really small group of unexperienced players with lower tier and a larger group of experienced players with higher tier. Smaller and larger because the first don't get the choice, they can only select "not completed" where as the latter group would much rather group with a larger player base for faster qeue times, more experienced players, and higher everage gear level so they can have it much easier. It's pretty much a no brainer.
Naturally because of this, people in my position after exausting all options will just give up on progression and the people to raid Alexander - the creator (Savage) as a whole will stay small due to this whopping great big brick wall stopping people from getting in, and thus everyone will have longer queue times.
I'm assuming I'm not the only one struggling in this prediciment and to all of you out there who are happilly and successfully getting in and running these raids, could you spare some of your wisdom please. It'd be greatly appriciated.

You can get around the character limit by editing your original post.
Before Raid Finder the current ex primal and savage raids could only be entered with a pre-made group. I imagine the different options are to help players find others at their level of progression as it would be frustrating for experts to be queued with complete newbies for the most difficult fights in the game.
Unfortunately the queues for the learning stages will become more and more dead the further into the patch we get. The older Ex primals are almost impossible to get into in my experience.
Hopefully in a future patch when they are no longer current they will be moved to DF. -

I've not tried the raid finder yet. But I think you could have more luck after the weekly reset. Currently we have the last day before the weekly reset and people are more focussing on "last minute tome capping" and wonderous tails "because after spending 30 chance points into shuffle I still have not a single line".

11-07-2016, 11:10 PMAetheriusYes, I can really understand your logic, but with these newer Alexander Savage instances and the way that the raid finder is designed to work with them means that everyone who is farming those tomes that you speak of will be doing so in a completetely different group of people from those who havn't even beat the first raid, Eye of the Creator - Savage, yet. I can only queue for this raid because I have not beaten it yet, and I can only queue with other people who have not beaten it yet. This is all because there are two options in the raid finder. "Completed" which states that you've beaten it before, but this isn't available to you until you beat it. This will put you in the group of all the tome farmers. Then there's the other option "Not Completed" which will put you in the group that hasn't beat it. Nobody in this group is farming tomes. They just want to get it down so that they can unlock Alexander - Breath of Creator (Savage) and queue in future with all the people that tome farm regulary instead of the small frustrating group.Quote:

Maybe the number of people trying in PUGs did decrease already. From my point of view, A9S and A10S are PUG friendly. But A11S and A12S requires alot coordination. To much for EU/NA PUGs in my eyes.
BTW: "Last minute tome capping people" you will see in Gubal library hard. They have no time to queue in raid finder. -

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the bottle neck caused by the options I mentioned that's keeping the PUG numbers on the low. Anyway, I have joined an FC now with the word that as soon as my friends there have unlock the content for A9S, we can all run it together. That should mean faster queue times at least. I highly suggest anyone in my position do the same until the GM's do something to fix this so that everyone can enjoy it.

Just remember
Everyone in your group 2, was once in your group 1.
We all went in with friends, using the party finder or just the Raid Finder.
I can't speak for everyone, but while I queue for completion/completion I will still do runs within my linkshells/free company for people who have not done completion.
YES going in with people who have not completed is harder. you get everyone from no-video watching, never seen phase 1, to people who have died to enrage quite a bit.
NO I don't really have sympathy on this. I spent days, litterally days, in queue and dozens of hours in the fight before I got my clear. I shouldn't have to go through that every week. -

When you seriously want to beat this content (all 4 turns), look out for or create a static. Trying in raidfinder, sooner or later you will hit a wall. Without any raidexperience, this wall will hit you sooner than later.
And before you try to do Savage, you should do the current extreme primal first. In kind of difficulty, its some steps before Savage.
You should also check out the stone, sea, sky trainings dummies to test your basic abilities. -

If you are serious about getting into raid, you should not consider pots, and certainly food, as an extra edge. These are pretty much mandatory. Pushing dps harder and faster allows you to skip mechanics.
these are not so much an edge, as much as you're just jipping yourself and the team if you don't bring them -

That is to be expected with these raids and I actually enjoy that quality about them immensely. The problem for me has been actually getting into them to begin with. It takes hours of qeueing. I mean I wouldn't mind getting in a few times a night and wiping every time as long as I and hopefully everyone else learns something significant out of it. But I consider myself exceptionally lucky if I'm able to get in just once a night. I'm not always.Quote:

It'd have had to have been in the Raid finder as it's not available in the Party finder.
I personally don't have a many freinds who are upto this content yet so I've mostly been relying on PUGs, which perhaps explains a lot.
Anyways, nobody was asking for sympathy. Just a little thought on the matter.
