Another big wish would be a "ground" slot for the aquarium where we can put non-fish animals like the tiny axolotl, lake urchin, lamp marimo, ogre horn snail or mushroom crab, stuff like that^^
Also, just in general, I wish we could put the fish in the aquarium no matter which one it is as long as they use the same model (for example, Angelfish and Zalera share the same model, so if we own one of the two, we should be able to put it in :x).

Seems odd having a tier 4 aquarium with 3 M and 1 S fish, just to have variety and movement in a tank.
Granted this was only the 1st patch, just hoping for more options down the road. -

Would love to see more water types rather than salt and fresh water. Such as Fine Sand for dune fish, Ozone for sky fish and cloud fish, Magma for hell fish, and Toxic Aether for aether fish. -

I'd like to see Kuno the Killer, and one of the black betta models (Assassin Beta/Ninja Betta). More saltwater variety would be nice too, but nothing specific stands out to me at the moment. -

Btw the current largest XL fish is the Euphotic Pirarucu, ranking in at a high point of 251.8 Im. The smallest XL being the Silver Shark, ranking in at a high point of 82.5 Im.
Figured it would be best to list the high point for the smallest XL considering that the Coelacanth, a Large fish, can be as big as 80.6 Im.
This might help when it comes to guessing the size of your wanted fish. If it's not 82.5+ Im, chances are it would be Large or smaller. -

Glad to see the Ala Mhigan Fighting Fish listed first! I caught and saved several as soon as I saw the aquarium was being added in 3.4, only for them not to be included in the initial pool of displayable fish. I had a Fighting Fish Tank in FFXI, and hope to replicate it in 3.5!

I was really surprised that the fighting fish didn't make the list it seemed like one of the most obvious choices after copperfish. I'm glad that copperfish did though.

it would be funny if they added a way to do the different fishing environments: sand tank, air tank, cloud tank, lava tank, sludge tank
but what we definitely need more of ASAP is a bunch of small and medium fish options.
One big unmoving L or XL fish looks kind of lame in the tanks so if you want a tank that looks alive you have exactly one freshwater and one saltwater setup atm -

The challenge with non-water and non-sky based tanks would be... actually being able to see the fish, I imagine. The opacity of other materials seems like it would be a design challenge to work around, outside 'because magic' type reasoning.

Chemicals seem the easiest to do out of these, actually, since that really is just water with a green tint.
All others are either solid - and therefore not see-through (sand, lava, etc.) or seem weird to be in aquarium form (flying sky fishes in a tiny box seems even worse than giant fish in a water container, but maybe that's just me).
In the furniture suggestion thread, someone suggested a chandelier/cieling lamp that allows the flying fish to fly around that instead, which seems like a nice idea to me :) -

Sand fish don't actually seem to require sand to live though, looking through the fishing guide it just seems that they're adapted to move through it and not require much water, so the amount of sand needed for a habitat may not be so much as to obstruct vision while letting the fish live in it. As for lava, well, I'd assume a hot enough facsimile would do? I don't think real life opacity of lava is that important in a fantasy game, considering this game has fishing poles that can wtf fish out of lava in the first place.Quote:

Next to skyfish, hellfish are probably the easiest to deal with. Lava that looks like cherry Kool-Aid is pretty much a staple of video games, so while it's not very realistic, it's firmly enough wedged in gamer consciousness that it may well still be acceptable. Sandfish do seem the most challenging; making the tank half-full of sand and having the fish surface periodically might be the best way to go.
As for ingredients to stock these tanks, I also kinda want to see "A bucket of molten rock" as a miner gatherable, just because it would be hilarious.
As for fish I'd like to see, there are a lot of awesome aetherochemical fish. I definitely would like to see chemical fish tanks made a priority, along with the more disturbing fish that can be found in Azys Lla.
You didn't miss anything. And I think it's overly optimistic to assume that we'll get new fish every full patch, as well. I'll be surprised (pleasantly so, but still surprised) if we get any new tank fish before Stormblood.Quote:

@Lineage: Well, I am fairly certain that in the interview right before aquariums were introduced they said they want to add ~10 fish every patch.
I felt that it was maybe too optimistic to take that as literally every patch and not only full number ones, but..you are crushing my hopes here a little bit xD
If ARR is anything to go by, we only get one more full number patch, 3.5, so at best 1 more batch of fish before Stormblood if any at all? >.< -
