Shield lob targetting issue

Hi,

I'm kind of new to Pld, and I just faced an issue that didnt exist before.

I can use sheild lob normally on first mob, I target the second mob to use sheild lob, but the first mob get the hit not the second one, eventhough the second mob has the arrow on him and not the first one.

I went through the setting, but nothing there helped.

Any advice please ?

What platform do you play on? You may have to confirm your new target, for example on PS4 I will tab to the new target and Press X which confirms that I'm now attacking that target.

Im on mac, it just started today, it was working fine before

I should mention that,

- when targeting new mob, the chr will auto look back to the first mob, and if the first mob is out of range, he will do nothing, I have to get aggro or link to be able to cast shield lob on the new mob.
- If I waited for few seconds, I'll be able to use shield lob on the new target, seems like delay but it's not, I play different online game with no issue.
- I have not tried other spells or abilities to test
- I have a mac pro with the game installed on it, the shield lob works fine, I compared all settings, they are the same, I don't know where to look for this issue
- target lock is not active, i tried both options, nothing worked.

Shield lobbing a second target (if it's a pack of dungeon mobs) isnt nearly as effective as using flash and rotating your aggro combo with everything in range. Your wasting a gcd on single target aggro when you should be using the gcd for mob aggro building.

For big pulls , I do the following , shield lob, then Circle of Scorn, run to next group shield lob, flash..etc

sometime (most of the time) Shield lob will not hit the mob from group 2, it will just go back to a mob from group one (which I already aggroed), Also, I noticed, if the mob from group one is far, and I'm standing right next to a mob from group 2 with an arrow on his head(not yet aggroed) the shield lob icon will stay red, and my char will keep looking back everytime I try use shield lob.

weird right ??

Maybe I'll just posy a video about the issue, i'm using different computer now and it works fine, no issue at all. I compared the settings, both identical

I just noticed today Provoke does the same, it does not hit the targeted mob, but it does hit the last mob I engaged with, my chr even look back to that mob and not the mob I already have the target on, which is on my front

I'll try to explain it better,

in dungeons,
1- I run to group of trash *group 1* (shield lob) + flash,
2- run to next trash *group 2* ( shield lob) + (Circle of Scorn) on all mobs, group 1 and 2
3- keep hate on all mobs till we take them all down.

the issue is:
While running from trash number 1 to trash number 2, I use shield lob to make group 2 aggro me before using circle of scorn, but my shield lob hits one of the mob on group 1, not the second which I already have a target on, it is very annoying,

can it be a lag issue ?
I just cannot understand how I hit a mob that Im not targeting, .. yes I already have hate from that mob, but it has no arrow over it's head, it's on another mob, but still, it goes back to him. very weird issue.

Did you change your keybinds? Are you using the numpad instead?

What happens when you "change target"? Do you see a circle over your target? Does your actual target health bar show the target you intended? What are you using to change target? Your mouse? Your numpad? Tab?

i have not changed anything on keybinds, I actually returnd all option to default just in case.

I'm using numbad to move,

There is an arrow over my target, , the bar shows (yellow because it is still not engaged or aggroed.

I use Tab to move from target to another which works fine most of the time only for that issue im having,

the weird thing here is, if i keep the target on the mob i want to provoke or shield lob, I'll have to do it 2 or 3 times then it will hit him, it's like the game did not recognize I have changed target and takes a while to digest the information :s

Your problem might be in changed settings of Target click filters. Character Configuration > first red box on the left > Target tab > on the bottom is "Click Filter Settings"

If the target you're trying to attack isn't aggroed or engaged in any way, your abilities probably targets the last active target you've had until the mob aggroes or is attacked by someone else. I haven't checked this myself but I do remember having issues with my targeting and had to adjust that part.

Or I'm talking outta my arse and you've accidentally engaged "automatically lock on when initiating auto-attack." or you're having lag, or you have a macro in your shield lob! XD

Highwilds, I'll check those options, I noticed when I hit a mob with shield lob usually I'm running toward them by holding the number 8 on numpad, the number 8 does something to the engaged mobs, like a lock on mob or shift between engaged mobs kind of thing, I don't even know how to explain lol

so I was doing a dungeon earlier today and I start doing shield lob while standing, I think it was ok, I need to do more tests though.

That might be the issue. The numpad is keybinded (is this a proper word?), to behave like a PS4 controller. 8,4,6 and 2 on the numpad is used to switch between targets without actually targeting them but merely mouseover-like. Just like the D-pad on a controller. A solution would be not to use the numpad to move but wasd. If you still insist on using the numpad, then remove all the keybinds for the numpad. I believe it is the last tab on the keybind window.
