ha I know this has been posted before

So I know its prob tons of threads about this on here ha prob to much to go through. So I main a whm and I like switching to blm. But I was way over leveled for my msq so needing quelling strikes I began leveling bard. I love the bard but I know with going to potd to level Wanderers Minuet is coming and I have to say I dislike it Im sure that's not new. So I'm wondering just in duty finder how many bards do you guys find that dont use wanderers, (note I plan to use it like Im suppose to but Im just curious). And sense i havent reached later dungeons in the game is it like a cleric stance type ability , it comes with some attacks I know but if you have to be more mobile is it ok to turn it off and turn it back on like cleric. And when people say you have to use it do they mean raids or just in the regular dungeons you get at level 50 and 60.

WM makes bard into mages, adding cast times to it. Also, only use it if you have acquired the right abilities for it. And yes you can and should turn it if if you know you need to be mobile and can atk while being mobile.

I was gona try it kinda like when im in range and the tank is hold good hate I have no need to not be in it but, like when things get a bit crazy and I have to move around or on a boss with alot of aoes turn it off So im hoping I can get away with that without people saying stuff to me for not using

Only reason it should be off is if the fight you're doing has so much movement that you miss out on several GCDs due to being unable to cast your attacks.

It should be up at least 90% of the time, otherwise you lose out on several of your best skills.

I don't think players care, I mean when im tanking a dungeon im not looking at what my dps is doing: if they are hitting their positional or performing the right rotations. Same when im healing or dpsing. Most of the time all my focus is on me and the mobs, aoes, boss, mechanics that is going on. So...

you have a point , and I willl just do my best to be effective and make sure im doing decent damange

I don't have my brd leveled to 60 yet, but WM allows for a couple of powerful skill you can use only under its effect. That being said, I think it's a dps loss to use WM before you get emperial arrow lv 54 i think. So kinda use that time between 52 and 54 to get used to the bow mage aspect of brd.

You've already leveled some casters anyways, so maybe the cast time won't be such a shock to you.

I used tank dungeons a lot, and I'll be honest that I actually look to see if my DPSes have the right buffs on: Fist of Fire (MNK), Venoms (NIN), Wanderer's Minuet (BRD), Gauss Barrel (MCH), etc.
If they don't, I don't really call it out. I just think to myself, "This player is an idiot" xD
Personally though if I'm doing Expert DR, and I'm doing big pulls, I expect the best out of my DPS to minimize the incoming dmg and healing needed to be done.
If they so happens to not meet my expectations, I just shrug it off. Bottom line is some people will throw a fit and some won'5 so take your pick

In dungeon roulettes you can tell when something is wrong if mobs are not dying at a reasonable rate. Thats when you start to look around to see whats wrong, regardless if you are playing as a tank, healer or dps. But when dungeon runs go smoothly, not many players ever complaint, from my prospective.

to be honest, I find in every roulette bards that never use it, but don't do anything else either. There have been some that do play foe's and I appreciate that when playing my smn/blm, and while I am not discussing how the class should be played in my opinion, I always end up with runs that take much longer than needed, due to the changes that have been made to that class/job a while ago.
I think and that's my own personal opinion, if you take a bard into any content it's only because you could not find any other dps at that time, or people dying forth and back and the tp/mp songs are needed.

With that said so, if you enjoy playing bard, please stick with your job abilities, they have been added for a reason and shouldn't be ignored. For the good or bad I am not going to discuss, but I do agree that it's based on the fight/occasion and should be altered in that way, obviously if you are doing sephrot you might not want to stick with that stance during the last phase of the fight since you will get interrupted every 2 seconds by being thrown to the left and right of the platform. However if you have fights, that let you ignore most mechanics, or mechanics that are less punishing you should consider using WM. It's just like blm's and their ley lines, you as a player have to determinate, if and when you are able to use your abilities. There's no rule about using, or not using it kind of situations.

Oh I didnt know that bard didn't do that much damage still , I am only doing magic classes on my main , so I figured it would be easier to play a bard in my first raid exp etc than my main whm or blm because the blm rotation is alot more complex than the bards. But I didn't no that they didn't deal out much damage tho that stinks
