I'd have to vote no, the idea of a white mage wearing the dragoons relic armor is just silly.
The second option, having it be "used, then turned into a NQ glamour prism" is likely the best/most likely idea. Otherwise the entire restriction of "can only glamour an item with an item equippable to the base item's class" goes out the window. It also devalues a class's aesthetic appeal some, because now all classes can wear that item.
They could revive the 1.0 mechanic of having "HQ" for some items result in a higher quantity rather than an HQ item. Then we could do the same for dyes as well.
Not to sure about this, we just finally got them to get rid of all the excess glamour prisms we did t need. Though I am all for the HQ leading to a higher quantity, that would be nice.
I'd rather they not double the inventory space taken by prisms by adding hq in. As Eloah said, we just got them to tone down some of the inventory bloat, we really don't need to blow it back up with this. I like the idea of cross class glamouring however.
I don't know about ANY job... But I wouldn't mind opening glamouring between jobs in the same general role... Healers being able to glamour any healer armor, Tanks any tank armor, BLM and SMN using each others stuff for glamour.. And so on...
They'd still use their classes weapons and have their class symbol so you can't exactly mistake them for another class during actual gameplay.
It's not a shoddy attitude to have. Relic and job specific armor are special, and if everyone is special, then no one is.
I will always be on the side that certain roles, wear certain attire. It's tradition, and goes back all the way to my D&D days. They make plenty of nice things for each role that complement them.
I am all for a certain armor type being to glamour the same type.
There should be exceptions of course, like very class specific/identifiable gear.
Cloth can glamour any cloth
Leather can glamour any leather
Steel can glamour any steel.
I have to vote NO aswell. It is not, because I do not want a WHM to wear a PLD gear, its because you lock it behind a item which will probably cost alot. I rather they open it up via the current glamour system.
it's a no too for me, for aesthetic reason, we do have jobs that have a personality, you like or not what they have access a clothes, but that them option. and for access reason, make it a 3 star is a way to give more stuff to crafter, glamour system is accessible and must remain like this.
Well mostly I feel if npcs can equip other class /job gear then why can't the wol also irl if I wanted to be a ninja in plate mail I could damn well try it's more of a realism thing say if I wanted to be a doctor in a suit of armor why not lol and I get what your all saying I'm just saying if anything it should be based on rolls not jobs except of course artifact gear that should be job spacific cas it's lore related
well it's funny, because DRG dreadwyrm armor looks more tanky than the tank dreadwyrm set. and High Allagan tank armor don't look tanky at all, and would fit most jobs.
so i'm all for expanding the amount of gear you could glam, but still with some restrictions. A healer/caster in plate Odin armor...is kind of -.-
so i think full-plate armors should still be restricted to tanks, and possibly DRG (they have several full-plate armors) while most leather and cloth gear, fit's pretty much any job.
I'd like to glam High Allagan coat of healing, flame coif, scylla gloves - it looks very assassins creed:y, and would look great on nin for example.
but...i don't think HQ prisms are needed for that, it'd just be a stupid thing for crafters to capitalize on, and there's already plenty of things for them to do that with. Glam items are already costly as F*** and i don't want to buy glam prisms for 100k, just because it's 3*/HQ, and everyone want it.
Personally, I would agree keeping artifact gear limited - the stuff even has its own lore now!
Everything else, I'd consider fair game. When tanks are allowed to glamour non-armor like friggin' bikinis, any argument of "iconic looks" and "role identity" goes straight out the window. If we are to uphold those, we need to heavily restrict the current glamour options for tanks, dragoons and possibly all DoW and DoM (Since many of the lvl 1 glams fit none of the roles or jobs aesthetics).
Hands up everyone who takes role integrity serious enough to want that change "and" wants to deal with the backlash of the people currently dressing up in non-role-conform clothes.
There are some class-specific level 60 crafter/gatherer gear that look really good and unique. I think they deserve to be cross-class for at least the category of class, i.e. crafter or gatherer, and with such a limit it wouldn't look confusing like a cloth class wearing heavy armor.
Hell no thanks. I don't like seeing people wearing something they aren't supposed to. Some things must stay like this. You have already enough glamours to play with for your role we don't need to mess things up.
