Chat across multiple Linkshells

I'm sure the answer to this will turn out to be about the server changes somehow, but given the number of channels we're able to write into and the diversity among them, I really would like to know why we aren't able to type into a LS unless it is the one that is active?

Is this a choice by design, or is it planned to be addressed after server upgrades?

I can imagine it to be an easy system wherein players can type /l1, /l2, etc. and speak into any LS at any time.

Didn't SE say something about implementing something like the /l1, /l2 etc.... but they just said it wasn't at the top of their list at the moment...

Personally I think this is something that has been needed since release a year ago, goes hand in hand with needing mail boxes, and needing LS admin rights to kick/add people without them being on and standing right in front of you etc...

It's annoying to be crafting and have someone ask a question, have to stop crafting cancel out, change shells answer the question, and then have to do it all again when having to flip back again if they ask another one. I usually get annoyed and switch to /tell's which means I just get spammed with those.

Multi-LS chat without changing pearl's is needed within the game.

I -swear- I read that they were going to implement this by or before 2.0, but I can't find the actual documentation or quotes to back this up. I remember it made me really happy though as this has been pissing me off since game release. xD

Yea I have a feeling it was mentioned but I also cannot find a specific post addressing this just yet.

When it comes to LS admin features I know they said it would be alleviated with the server-side fixes, but I feel like putting in commands to speak into other LS channels could be relatively easy. That being said, if the way they have Linkshells setup makes it impossible server-wise I wouldn't be surprised considering their server-side data setup is known as being quite restrictive and annoying for many other reasons already.

I'd appreciate some clarification on this from the devs.

Yeah I kinda assumed that was how it worked when I got my fist 2 linkshells and tried typing /1 /2. Seems silly it wasn't there from the start.

Actually, yea. No need for the l's even just the numbers would suffice :D

Yeah I doubt that -anything- is trivial for them to program in with the current system. I just don't remember if they said they'd try to address this -by- 2.0 or what and I can't be arsed to sift through searching for it. Anyone with a better memory than me? :D

This would be greatly useful!

Even something as simple as a text command to change linkshells would be fantastic (/equipls "XXXXX") if for some reason they don't want to deal with allowing chat into every channel.

This feature needed to be in the game when it first game out. Is it not logical that if you can hear what all of your linkshells are saying at any given time, that there should be an elegant/convenient way to respond to them? If they make linkshell communication as difficult as it is now, they should just make it so that your linkshell channels are off by default except for the one you're "active" in, since right now there is no direct way to communicate with them save going through the laggy UI to switch.

TBH, I think I have read this a few times in the past on some forums, but I don't think it has been in any updates etc.
THIS WOULD BE AWESOME.... Like... So many times I have MTd stuff in a wrong LS and if I am in the middle of crafting (which I do a lot) I have to actually stand up and change the ls. And usually by that time my witty comment in response to some banter is highly unvalid *cries*

I think 'quite some time' has already passed considering it's such a basic feature.

Not sure if you are making fun of me,
but I think it's good players keep nudging them about certain stuff,
otherwise they might think it's not really important and put it at the very bottom of their priority list,
while at the same time saying the game is at 100% MMORPG standard after patch 1.20, even though it is missing such important features as this + ls management in general.

but now the battle system has been reworked, so I request information about the position of this on the priority list x)

Nah Wasn't making fun of you, was making fun in general how sometimes things fall behind the drawer and then months later you do a mega spring clean and go "OOoooh here's where it went" :D

Wow, i've been posting this very same idea from the "May i remind the dev team AGAIN about LS functions?" I would have linked those threads but that's not where i'm getting at.

Great idea! Would definitely make things so much easier! Especially when crafting.

Or at the very least please let us change the active ls channel through a text command, like /lsactive x where x is the LS number. This would at least be a stopgap measure until they implement a way to let us directly talk to an LS.
