What are some of the most funny or bizarre roleplays you've seen done in FFXIV?

Mostly on Balmung in Uldah it's just that "Hmph, aye lass. Will ye be wanting to engage in conversation that will eventually lead to hardcore flirting publicly" or the whole -Nuzzles you- e3e

-pins you against the wall and gives you a wedgie, then runs off with your lunch money-

Had a guy sell himself a lapdance. Like he sold it to himself. THere was another one but this was in AV, we go in and things are good until the first boss. - I know short right?- Well anyway he bluntly goes " I'm roleplaying" and DIES right there. I almost died laughing my ass off. Cause I asked him " what're you doing RPing in the dungeon." His reply? " I'm RPing I'm a bad healer and don't know what I'm doing" I lost it and loled the whole dungeon. Pure fantastic. LOL Hell that is STILL funny to this day.

I dead ass saw a dude that was acting like one of those "supreme gentleman intellects" in Quicksand. "I usually don't find conversing with rabble in here interesting, so I usually just read from my book."

I am just like "Who goes to a bar just to read a book?"

The female players next to him were offended and saying "That's rather rude!"

Balmung is the Nar Shaddaa of FFXIV.

Full of slave dancers, people who look like Hutts and loads of controversy.

The real gems are the ones you never get to see. The batshit insane plots cooked up within FCs.

I know of an FC that did a werewolf plot in Ishgard.

Werewolves.

Seeing those weeaboos use Japanese words incorrectly and using them in English sentences got me triggered.

So anyway I took this screenshot like two and a half months after the game came out. Still one of my favorite screens I've taken of RP. Don't try and tell me this wasn't serious either because I ran right past them on my chocobo, and believe me, it was serious.

There is that little bar on the outskirts of Ul'dah if I remember right. I assume I can call it RP because people dragged the fate boss into the bar and had a bar fight with it. It ended with someone screaming "AND STAY OUT!"..quite an entertaining night.

I've always said The Quicksands is the new Goldshire lol, most of the rp'rers I know as well as my FC avoid that place like the plague. The last bit of RP I remember from there was this girl who was RP'ing that a voidkin impregnated her and her baby in the womb was giving her all these super voidkin powers and she was looking for a husband to help raise it.

Lets um, just say I finished my quest turn in, internally screamed a lot, facepalmed and ported out quickly when I saw that rp >_>

One time some friends and I were sitting in Limsa just chatting in party after running treasure maps. I guess we looked like an ERP cuddle puddle because these two highlander guys came over and asked "IS THIS AN OPEN RP??" and launched into the epic tale of their backstory which involved eyebrow stealing vampires, and took an hour and a half to tell (while his friend just echoed key parts of his story). I don't think they were serious, in fact I think they were trying to tease us but we sat there for the full hour and half enthralled by this ridiculous story, cheering them on.

I hope he found his mothers eyebrows in the end ;~;7

MEMORIES!!!!! My group did a werewolf plot in 1.0 since werewolves were loosely tied in the games lore at the time. I don't remember the leve quests name or if it was a normal one or one of the faction leves, just that it was a La Noscean leve, but werewolves were there! The plot was a lot of fun and I'm still sad we could never finish it.

Most bizarre on Balmung? There's always those funny misfired ERPs that end up shouted to the Smutsand instead of in private channels. Always. Always funny too. But bizarre? Was the mistell of someone saying they got laid more in their ERP than they did in their RL marriage. Felt kinda bad for the gal. If she was a gal. Female character anyway.

Overall most bizarre ever? Got Sastasha on DF and the tank was wearing a cowl. He kept just standing by the healer and not pulling anything. When we finally asked what the heck he was doing, he informed us he was RPing a battlemage. C'mon dude, get in there and be the meatshield. RP what you want with friends, but tank or get out.

Personally though? I think it's pretty danged funny when I trot out my alt: Somebody's Retainer. Will hand out fish in trades to random people and sometimes skid through the Smutsand shouting for my boss, because I HAVE FISH BOSS! HEY WHERE ARE YOU?! It's legit rp in my book, ok?

There's this guy on my server called Godbert Mandervill (notice the lack on an 'e' at the end), that runs dungeons as either a tank or blm. While naked. I had the pleasure of encountering him in my party once on a Gubal HM run. He was not talkative though.

Then there's another one called Ravelord Nito. He's a Roegadyn that wants to be a moogle. I think you can imagine what that guy looks like.

I've seen those two aswell.

Probably some of the rp I do when my character flips out about furniture placement in people's houses but my favorite is the RP I saw with Npc copy characters. This one person did Haurche's language and gestures very accurately and also at his side was Emannellaine who was also identical to the npc in dialect as well as visually.

The other more bizarre stuff I have seen is just tooo raunchy to type in here. :P

Our FC did an RP as Knights of the Round.

We all got armor and dyed it white. People who had tank jobs got the augmented (glowing armor).

Then we stood in a circle around the FC master in the major towns and busy areas. We shouted the lines from the Knights of the Round one by one and then full buff uses our gaudiest skills and spells for about 30 seconds.
Then we announced our FC name and teleported away.

This was during the Rising Event, so we also did this on the stage in Ul'dah. By that time we had gathered about 15 followers who would teleport with us to watch our next show.
It was pretty fun!

So...yeah...back when I was a lalafel...

A roegadyn at the Gold Saucer(in a dark corner of some mini game area) was going "psst psstt psst psst"..."hey little lalafel, want some candy?"

I promptly ran away. No please. O.O

The most fun one I ever participated in was helping Estinien discover Aymeric's heresy, and aiding him in the dispatching of the dragon-sympathiser. We threw snowballs at him and knocked him off his wyrm mount and then began our onslaught with our spears when we discovered that I am the daughter of Aymeric and Vidofnir.

Most awkward RP for me is when anyone wants to see if I'll act as my namesake.

I try to humor people.

The most bizarre run-in with rpers I've ever had was... my god. Limsa, about 2-3am CET. I'd been there for an hour, and these two who were (I assume) rping something really damn edgy in say had by then attracted a group. There were at least 20 people obviously idling around them and these two DID NOT NOTICE. AT ALL.
So at some point the group, me included, took it further. We got closer. And closer.
They still didn't notice.
When did they notice, you ask? When all of us stripped and started Benefic-ing the male Au Ra. It also included the by now classic line of "I am legal dying".

Flash forward, me and the fc mates are doing A12. We load in, there's another... warrior... my god he looks eeriely fami..li...ar....
'Twas good old edgelord.
So naturally the people from my FC who were there for that trainwreck of a night all said hello and he just went: "Wait. Who here is from Hemog".
The group didn't clear at all because he was rather slow on the uptake but my gOD WHAT'S THE CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING...
