Did I read somewhere they are announcing 4.0 info at Fan Festival next week? Info about the new classes?
Supposedly they should be giving out information on 4.0 at it, which would include new jobs.
I hope so!
My predictions.
NA Fanfest: New jobs, Name and setting of xpansion, very brief overview of planned setting, features, classes etc. Tease, but not a ton of meat on the bones. Vague release window.
EU Fanfest: Info on the next raid, something new we didn't know about at all (possibly story related)
JP Fanfest: Tons of info on 2.5, a lot of the finer details of the xpac, such as an overview of class changes. Maybe going over a few 'overhauls' to old systems. The meat for the bones of the NA fest. Release Date
We will probably get the name of the expansion and maybe some hints on the new jobs but they will wait until jp fanfest to fully announce them.
guessing just a teaser video and more infos later in the EU and JP fanfest
cross finger for beast master but won't be dispoint if beast master never become a job.
ill say samurai, red mage and rune fencer.
I could be wrong, but didn't the last fan-fest had Yoshi P simply teased the upcoming jobs, but never shown them yet?
I remember him wearing a batman t-shirt and that lead to Dark Knight speculation. Another was him wearing a 007 shirt and that lead to a Gunner/ gadget user job speculation.
They heavily teased Dark Knight at the first Vegas FanFest. Pretty much Yoshi-P had announced HW would have several new jobs. At one of the panels Battle director Mitsutoshi Gondai mentioned wanting to wear a batman t-shirt but wasn't able to find it. Yoshi-P mentioned Nolan's version was his favorite. Then at the live letter where Gondai came out, someone handed him a batman t-shirt.
The official reveal of DRK was at the EU Fanfest a week later. Yoshi-P teased MCH then with a 007 shirt (after taking off a batman shirt) and saying he loved the movie Man with the Golden Gun.
Japan's FanFest revealed Au Ra, AST, and MCH officially.
So if we base it off the 2014/2015 FanFests, we will not see confirmation of new jobs. We'll see a tease for 1 job. Maybe.
Yoshi will walk in, arms crossed, he'll pose for a second before slowly lowering his arms to reveal what's on his t-shirt.
The T-shirt will say "It's Samurai, Red Mage and Dancer."
He'll claim it's just a random t-shirt though.
they can decide to do it differently, they know a lot of people is wanting info about new jobs, i guess they will probably drop one there for calm the mass and make them not riot.
They do need to hold things to announce though. The schedule for the FanFests this time around are spread out more. In 2014, NA Fanfest was in October 17-19; UK FanFest on Oct 25; and JP Fanfest was December 20? 2014.
This time NA Fanfest is October 14-15 2016; JP Fanfest is Dec 24-25 2016; and EU Frankfurt FanFest is February 18-19 2017.
It's quite spread out this time around. Since they use Fanfest to promote and hype stuff, I don't we'll see much for the NA fanfest. If anything, they'll tease a job, but no confirmation.
JP fanfest could hype up the 3.5 patch since it should released by late december ~ January based on patch cycles.
EU taking place February will probably be when they'll talk more about the expansion, maybe even show a trailer.
Yes that is why I don't think they will actually jump to giving more info unless they have a -lot- more planned for 4.0. After all, they also go to PAX and announce stuff there too. With how spread out the fanfests are, I don't know if they will actually announce a job or just heavily tease. Maybe they will do more than 3 jobs but that seems a stretch with how many adjustments have had to be made to the current 'new' ones. I would say a trailer for the expansions would not be a surprise but with how spread out I am not so sure of it anymore.
I think people are underestimating how upset the people who shelled out money for the full or digital version of the show would be if they only went this far.
I'd say it's possible they reveal 1 new job per fanfest, but there's NO WAY we're getting only a name and nothing else at the NA Fanfest.
At the least Fanfest, Yoshi didn't say anything about the new jobs but he used visual hints at them, like wearing a shirt with a Batman logo on it (Dark Knight) and doing a James Bond pose (Machinist).
probably tease whatever it was alisae was teasing, id be ok with one job being announced i dunno if that would hurt them too much,
but wed get about half a dozen threads about it on the front page here though lol
If no new jobs/races, then they'd have to spend time on how current jobs (including DOH and DOL) will feel in 4.0.
Honestly, though, I think it would be smarter to spread the three jobs between each fest, verses saving the meat for one as they did before. Otherwise, we'll see some wrath on the forums and reddit, just as CosmicKirby said, since that's very obviously the most discussed topic in regards to 4.0.
The only things we know is Yoshi-P wants SAM, Red Mage is the most player requested, and Alisaie is clearly hinting at something (Red, Rune Fencer, or Mystic Knight?).
That and Viera is still requested, but we've got no hints on another race in the game.
You'd be surprised.
The devs are gabbing away about Batman, The Dark Knight movies being recent, and lightbulbs started flashing.
So, when Yoshi-P confirmed the correlation, and starts to talk about James Bond and The Man With Golden Gun being a film he loves, we knew where he was going with it.
My only wish is Alisaie hinting at a new job will mean her unusual style will be confirmed at Vegas.
Also, Susan Calloway will be performing... New theme preview time??
Considering the Live Letter is about 3.4, I don't think we'll get anything concrete at the Fanfest this time round. I think it's very likely that any announcements will be about upcoming 3.4 content and teasing 3.5 content, with the usual PR stuff filling the space in-between. I'll be very surprised if we get anything other than vague hints that could mean anything before the final Fanfest so I'm trying really hard to not let myself get hyped at all
And they'd just let fans walk away disappointed after shelling out money to attend an event that square directly profits from by not showing them new info? Info they probably have had ready since E3 and TGS and said nothing about? They've clearly been holding onto stuff for a while. I don't know where everyone is coming from thinking they'll say basically nothing. Especially if they shoot their fanfest in the foot in the 2nd year.
3.45 may get some time, and there will be plenty of activities to do there, but I'm with Kirby.
Not offering 4.0 info would be a PR disaster.
I remember hearing that the rush on leveling AST, DRK and MCH wasn't very well balanced and they weren't likely to do one of each the next time round... while I would love a new healer, we're likely getting a tank and a DPS, and there may just be 2 jobs.
I don't think that we will get job info at NA Fanfest, but they are likely to confirm the setting and theme.
Prediction: Walks on stage wearing a red shirt. Removes it to reveal a blue shirt.
Still also predicting red/blue mage will be rolled into a single job with different stances to represent the 2.
Combine it with WHM and you have the 'Murican mage. :D
Still don't know how they could design a blue mage in a MMO, 'course love the idea but the essence of BM is to have the gameplay you want with the abylities you want, how can you do this in a MMO where groups will probably kick BM who don't have the ultimate attack taken from the ultimate boss form savage ? oO
They are charging 30 dollars for a live stream, there had better be something worth watching it for. I would hope that information like this would be forthcoming.
