Ultima's horns

Correct me if I'm wrong but the FATE does not seem to happen anymore (in opposision to the one with the big cat that I saw couple of time now), so I was wondering; can we get another way to obtain them ? trough Challenge or even in exchange for mémo ?

The fate does happen the issue is that the weather only stays up for a brief period unlike odin/coeurl that stays up while the fate is up. That's what makes it a pain to track down.

I need these horns! I accidentally traded them in for GC seals... A whopping 3 seals at that. Its been impossible to re-obtain them because the fate is almost never up or I'm not online at the right times. +1 this thread though. Either make the fate pop more or an alternative way to obtain them. I miss my Ultima horns ;-;

...I would rather see them add more rewards to all the fates (Odin, Behe, Courl Queen, Ultima) than take those that we have away from them.

Off topic, your FemRoe looks super awesome with those horns! I love the skintone/haircolor eyecolor combo with them.

Then make at least the FATE happen more often, please ^^

I agree on that, more rewards, more people to do the FATEs ^^

What bugs me about that FATE is the fact that it's on Azys Lla. That map is huge, and honestly I don't see many people having business there unless it's for unlocking content. At least at the Shroud you keep seeing a lot of people, same for Coerthas, and those maps are not gigantic so you still have some time to participate on FATES if someone calls it out but you're on a different map.

That being said I've only ever saw that Ultima FATE one single time. sadly. I also want those horns but everytime the FATE spawns I'm either inside of a duty or not playing the game at all, which sucks.

I've got 3 proto ultima plating since the very first week of 3.0 and still the same 3 pieces until today ...

I was hoping the Hyperelectricity in the Diadem would give a chance for explorers to get the horns there as well but alas...

It's a struggle when you want to make an alt with the horns but you can't cause they're untradable and only obtainable way way way down the course of the game

They could also make watching for these large-scale boss FATEs more desirable. One way I've thought of it is simply make is so we can trade the drops in for an item in the zodiac/anima questlines (Umbrites, Unidentifieds, Alexandrites, etc.). I know, at least on my server, a lot of times that these FATEs pop people never show up because they don't see a point to it. But, say we could trade in Odin's Mantles for Umbrites 1:1, and similarly for the other drops. That would reignite interest, I feel.

the weather can also appear in diadem, including rafflesias which drop the exo platings. I've seen it there 2 times in about 10 runs

I think with these FATEs they could even get away with making a server announcement (kind of like how you see text when your retainer sells something). It could say something like "Something is amiss in the Shrouds/Dravanian Forelands/Azys Lla" it would get people's attention and get them there and hunting.

I find Odin gets called out frequently in the Novice Network. The other two are a lot less common, as novices have lose their access to the network at this point and they would be the ones most likely to come across these FATEs.

Yes the issue is the weather. Would be better if the prolonged the time for it.

I thought it would make sense for the weather NPC to be able to tell you when the FATE weather was coming. At the very least to let you know if waiting around in that zone for 3 hours would be worthwhile or not.

Been wanting to get these horns for a WHM glam and I haven't even seen the FATE once, really sucks the weather is up for such a short period of time. It definitely would be nicer if they could at least extend the duration of the weather, long enough for someone to notice seeing as the map is mostly deserted half the time, unlike the Shroud o)-<

Plus could those FATEs give more than 3 rewards out of the 5 needed ? again, we don't see them often and have to get there twice to get the reward ^^"

Speaking of ultima horns, were they not meant to be made dyeable, or was that succubus horns(this was mentioned almost half a year ago iirc)
