Why no Twitch stream for FanFest?

I don't understand why the stream won't be on Twitch anymore. What happened? Was there an argument with the Twitch staff?

I am not sure if Twitch allows paid streams and SE wants to charge us. :)

It's this charging thing that doesn't sit easy with me. Now the simple response is if you don't want to pay, then don't watch. Fair enough.

Step back a bit and what is this event about? - The fans of the game.
The people who, month in month out, are customers of SE.

Seems a bit mercenary is all.

There was a premium stream for the last set of Fanfests AND a free Twitch stream.

So they increased the price by 50% and there's no mention of a free stream.

Between this and the increase in cost of mog station items I'm not liking the direction SE is taking.

And Twitch does the premium and free streaming so well too :(. It was so easy linking the Twitch to our FFXIV accounts last year.

I think it may actually be due to the fact that other services are very regional, but if SE hosts it themselves then it's easier for people to access all the streams for all three minions. Last time there was only ONE incentive item and it wasn't based on the stream you purchased. But this time there is a different incentive item for every stream, so if SE hosts them all then they can make a page for purchase of the stream for each fan fest so that everyone has equal opportunity on the items.

Mm. I have a disposable income so it's less about the money for me and more about the principle of the matter. We know that they've taken money from FFXIV and used it to fund FFXV - which I believe will be an excellent game - but when I look at how the developers of Witcher 3 handled DLC and additional items I can't help but wish that FFXIV took a similar route. We're already paying a monthly subscription after all - and shelling out cash for each new expansion that arrives. I'm happy to spend money from time to time on additional optional items but there's just so many of them these days.

What's wrong with Youtube Gaming? There's the lack of the userbase, but apart from that it can handle load far better (E3 for one) and doesn't require buffering on livestreams on my piss poor Australia internet connection.
