Good Morning,
Will the Abes and High Summoner outfits be gender locked?
Thanks
I'm going to assume they will be gender locked, like the butler/maid and lightning/snow sets are.
:(
Yes, the Abes attire is for male characters and the High Summoner attire is for female characters.
As an FYI, we've posted additional details on the recent Developers' Blog ("Delivering the Festival Straight to the Fans").
I think this is highly unfair though. For this Fan Fest to be only bought.
"Is there a free version of the stream to watch?
No, the only way to enjoy the Fan Festival live stream will be to purchase it."
I was looking forward to watching this Fan Fest for months now. And I can't without paying. And I can't be there to actually experience it due to real life. <.< Thanks, SE.
The live letter will be free, and there will be tons of news sites posting anything interesting as it happens. You won't miss out on information.
Any mention if it multiple pieces or one piece outfit?
Sweet, it states anyone is able to purchase any of the streams. I will be waiting and getting the one that has Lulu's outfit (if I remember, it's the Japan version).
I'm hoping they will be multiple pieces too.
My question is: Do the redeemable items get sent to all characters on the service account or just one? Last event sent Moogle Attire to all characters on the service account, but this sends a redeemable ticket. If you do get all three streams for all minions and get 3 Dreams of the Fayth tickets for all characters, what can you do with the 3rd one? Because there are only 2 outfits...
Is that correct that we will have to wait german fan fest in february 2017 to exchange our tokens for the outfits ?
Hmm what happens if you buy all 3 streams but there's only 2 outfits... can't you gift them to someone at least?
So who and where is the special NPC that I trade the Dreams of The Fayth for the outfits?
Guys u have the wrong idea about this we just had our fanfest which was rikku minion and choice of abes attire or high summoner outfit japan will have theres in december which will have the lulu minion and in germany in febuary will have there own minion/outfit.
I wonder if the codes are account wide too. I haven't had access to them to find out.
Greetings!
Yes, the in-game items are account-wide items!
As mentioned along with the in-game item code redemption instructions, the ability to trade the "dream of the Fayth" token items for the outfit of your choice will be possible after the conclusion of the Fan Festival in Europe (Feb. 2017). Here is a link to the instructions on redeeming the in-game items! (Japanese, German, and French, too!)
Will the outfits be dyeable?
Although I'm in favor of SE making money on the game so that it can continue to operate, I don't see an overall benefit to paywalling the stream.
I expect they could have made a deal with Twitch/YouTube/NicoNico/etc. to stream the whole thing for "free." This would have been a nice thank you to all the players, and a nice promotion for the game, much as the 14-hour anniversary broadcast was. One particularly nice thing (for those who don't speak Japanese at least) is that the NA Fanfest presentations were in English (with live translation as necessary!) As such, it would have been a nice outreach to many English-speaking players and people who were interested in the game. The stream could also have included live podcasts and reports from the show floor during the gaps between the main stage panels.
I'm pretty OK with making the "exclusive" in-game items available for purchase (though that makes them less "exclusive") at some point for people who can't attend in person, and even charging for archived footage if the streaming provider won't do it for free. Though as an in-person attendee I do appreciate having some special things that you can *only* get or experience by being there in person! Even a timed exclusive is nice and doesn't unfairly penalize completionists.
I do wish that the stream archives had been included for in-person attendees because I missed most of the Nakagawa "Mr. Ozma" dev panel as I couldn't see or hear it from where I was standing in the hours-long merch line.
Yeah, they sent them already, but you can't redeem them until next year. As you note, this is weird because they take up inventory (or mailbox) space for four months!!
I assume this is an attempt to make it fairer to the JP/EU attendees as it takes away the advantage that NA attendees would have had of getting the outfits before everyone else (without having to purchase the stream separately.) Now we just burn a moogle mail or inventory slot for four months, which doesn't seem like an advantage at all! And what if some people discard them by mistake?
At least some of us did score lore books a day or two before they went on sale on the SE store...
Thanks for the confirmation Bayohne.
At this moment, i only have 1 more question in regards to this particular topic. When i purchased a ticket for the live stream of the Las Vegas FanFest event, i got 1 code which gave me the Rikku minion and the "Dream of Fayth" token items. However, since the outfit is account wide, i would only need 1 outfit. I noticed that the token items themselves (as well as the minions) aren't tradable, but since we will get more "Dream of Fayth" tokens when we buy the other Live Stream Tickets (Japan and Frankfurt), i would have more token items then i will need for myself (see quote below).
Therefore, i'd like to be able to give the remaining 2 outfits (1 for each of the streams) to friends of mine. Will it be possible to trade these outfits with other players in game? If not, would it be possible to send out 2 redeemable item codes for the next Live Streams (1 for the outfit and 1 for the minion)? Then i will be able to gift the outfit to my friends, while keeping the minions for myself.
Don't get me wrong, I certainly enjoyed watching the live stream and I understand that access to it is what was purchased, but the bonus codes were a big selling point to me and I feel like the 4 month wait should have been made more explicit. As someone who's already used many bonus codes in the past it didn't seem necessary to read the KB article on redemption prior to purchase. And even the KB article is a bit vauge, simply stating "after the conclusion of EU fanfest", and leaving it up to the reader to find out when exactly that is.
