So guys, what are your pet peeves as a healer?
Mine is basically using the WoW Logic of "You only heal because you queued for healer." when I can DPS for free if there's literally no damage going out whatsoever.

When a stack mechanic is completely ignored and players decide to spread out as much as possible, as quickly as possible. That, and tanks not using cooldowns.
When I was still gearing up my healer, to the point where I was wearing the bare minimum to enter a dungeon as one. Even explaining to the tank that we should go a tad slower because I'm barely able to be in here. And the tank still pulling whole areas of mobs because screw you and you're like 800 heal, you should be able to do as much as someone wearing top tier gear.
When people will gladly stand in things they shouldn't and take very unnecessary damage (To the Black Mages, I feel for you having cast times and needing to cast but.....stop), which naturally will require me to heal but sometimes might complain that there's not enough DPS.
Many of us will gladly do our best to DPS as healers, just not when people are taking damage cause they need heals. We're not miracle workers, we kinda sorta have to sometimes pick up after the mistakes of others. :T
anyone becides a Tank who intentionally stand in telegraphed AoE's (the avoidable stuff), especially the ones that give high dmg Dot's or a Vuln Debuff, & Un-tankable mobs... both annoy me as Heals or Tank
A descent BLM will know when its okay to stand in aoe and when not to... for example if the aoe adds poison (dots) or its a half hp loss from 1 hit then yea the BLM will naturally move out of the way... but if the damage is minimal why move? They can get that extra fire 4 off or make sure their enochian wont fall off. BLM is loaded with timers... they have several things to worry about while trying to maximize damage and keeping an eye on where they are in a boss fight so they know when to dodge or when to plant there feet firmly on the ground. BLM's have to make sure they get off a blizz 3 at the end of the rotation especially before astral fire wares off. They have to make sure to get that blizz 4 casted in time before umbral and enochian wares off......ect. I can keep on going but a good BLM should know how far they can take it before stepping back for a sec.
I promise you the blm is not saying to themselves meh the healer can just heal me through a 2 shot aoe... No they are thinking about enochian/astral/umbral timers and they are thinking about when/where they are in a fight. BLM's are constantly weighing there options and while doing all the above they trying to push out as much damage as they possibly can.
You know what really grinds my gears...
Undergeared tanks doing huge pulls.
Slow AoE dps and big pulls.
Messing up Clerics Stance.
Bards that play Mage ballad for me after I tell them not to. You're only slowing dps. Please stop it.
Dps taking too much unnecessary damage.
Tank/dps: "Healer heal me!!! You "insert whatever insult you can think of"
......while at 80% HP, like really? Realllly???
I will speak on behalf of tanks even if this is about healers. Bards and Machinists that don't throw mp/to regeneration when we're low. Yea you want to DPS but if you cannot be bothered to see that we are drained, especially if a death occurred, then play another job. You are support, learn to watch our mp/to like healers focus in HP / shields and tanks watch for dangerous adds / aggro meters in party list.
If you want to be regarded as a class that isn't easy, do it right. This also goes to DPS that say "screw the healer" and allow a mob to attack the healer, not blowup a tethered bomb attached to the healer etc.

When you get an 8 man full of ranged DPS and after a huge AoE none of them come to the center to get healed.
I'm sorry, if you aren't standing near the boss when that Hell Wind goes off it's your own fault if you die for expecting me to single target heal every person in the party from single digits to full HP...
^this so much too, also a reason why whenever i play dps (BRD btw) i always follow and stay near healer, this way at the very least the healer have 1 less head to run around healing
Eos/Selene's awful AI. Just let me turn it off. I will manually cast every embrace if I have to.
Tanks that don't point the boss/adds away from the party OR tanks that keep moving the adds/boss around, so I'm running around trying not to get hit by AoE's while trying to heal
also that one ranged dps that's 37 million miles away from anything ever
That one idiot who always seems to make a point of not stacking and stands outside Cure III range.
When I've deployed Adlo+Eye and nothing happens until about 5 seconds left before it falls off... :|
My newer pet peeve is people not taking advantage of their invulnerabilty window after being rez'd and getting immediately obliterated by the next raidwide AOE because they couldn't wait two seconds.
My pet peeve is when a tank wants me to dps( I usually do) but they don't use any defense cool downs, and they start complaining when I start healing them <.<
Just happened yesterday doing ramuh extreme. Not actually healer "ugh" moment but....
tank still ask us (me and the other healer) to help dps... Like are you serious? With aoe everywhere, tether line, electro ball, thunderstorm left and right where players HP going up and down like economic crisis.... Not counting its pug too. (We got wiped like 3 times before tank just rage quit "noobing" us all)
Warriors that macro berserk with demands for esuna/leeches.
DPS that eat aoes and things like poisons. 3rd boss in void ark is laughable for this. corrosive bite and seeing half my party get 3-4 stacks of poison. like really? 1 can forgive but if your in that area long enough to take 4 hits... or things like acceleration bombs in ozma. dps keep attacking bomb goes off bam there goes 15k of your hp. or pyretic in midas. loads of others but I wont list em all.
dps that then die from things like the above example and blame the healers for not healing them.
tanks that repeatedly lose hate because "dps stance dancing"
Biggest pet peeve is tanks who don't listen when you say you're not ready and pull anyways. I've taken to just not entering the boss room and letting them die the first time around because if I'm not ready, I'm NOT READY.
My pet peeves are lack of awareness, flexibility, and growth. Those encompass many things mentioned here already, and each feeds into the next. Finally having had playing roles other than healer, I understand why my own mistakes lead me to not avoiding AoE or using CDs. I understand the reliance on the healer to 'heal' through my mistakes, while making sure they don't have to do it a second time.
As a healer, I am aware that the optimal choice is not always made in the heat of battle, and I am there to make sure we still make it through regardless. But as a healer, don't take that or me for granted. I need to see improvement and accountability on your part if you derp. That is all.
What annoys me are those saying SCH is useless; WHM is useless; AST is useless for ____ reason.
Also, what really annoys me is when a bard or machinist pop MP buffs for me when not asked because I'm sitting at low MP. I tend to yell at them, and to have one of my friends tell them I'm actually good at MP management; she'll let you know if she genuinely needs MP. So stop lowering your DPS for something that is my responsibility.
My biggest pet peeve is being complained at when I'm very busy keeping my raid alive and wasnt able to put out as much dps when others are getting hurt by AOEs. Happened recently on Alexander NORMAL someone was complaining to me that I didn't put out enough dps. I had dps when i can and the amount of dps that i can do depends on how well we can dance around the mechanics. we cleared the fight with no problem and no wipes (besides letting him die)
That's all fine and dandy when it comes to minimal damage seeing as I don't immediately throw a physick on them when they've only taken a little damage, but the problem is when they decide to stand in things that hit hard and leave them with less than a quarter of their health or if they take stacks they shouldn't take. That's mainly what I'm referring to. I get that it can be difficult for them, but letting themselves die isn't going to exactly maximize any DPS either.
I can tell you now, running the Vault before with two Black mages really didn't go well at all the couple of times that happened for me. I feel for them but resurrecting one only for the other to die shortly after and have that alternate became a problem.
Edit: I should also add, Tank seemed to really want me to help with DPS, but the Black Mage got a little pissy at me for his deaths. While I was doing my best to balance both, it's not like I can make miracles. I DPS when my party isn't dying.
When DPS keep standing in stupid and complain that I'm not healing them enough.
Oh sorry, I guess I should use my 0 mp 0 second gcd 9999 potency raid wide aoe heal every 2 seconds. Totally my fault that you got one-shotted from standing in those lasers.
Oh, also I find it annoying when a healer raises you but doesn't heal you, then you die from raid wide damage.
When you're casting Stone Skin because the tank is doing huge pulls and then he runs out of range =/ Not just once, but three times.
Tanks who use zero cooldown. I had one yesterday in the Vault. He died three times on trash pulls. None of those were my fault. ._.
I actually got another one. When my WHM or D.AST co-healer only cares about nuking and never ever put their HoT on the tank.
Please stop being useless. I wholly encourage DPSing as much as possible, but HoTs are the whole reason you can nuke in the first place, and I'm not a substitute for your Regen/Aspected Benefic.
Tanks who don't know what the minimap is and run off alone.
Tanks who think they can pull multiple packs of mobs while undergeared and expect Cure II spam to be able to save them from taking half their health bar a second in damage.
Tanks who can't be bothered to remove a HoT before pulling and get me aggro.
Tanks who never use cooldowns.
DPS who stand in AOE and/or environmental hazards.
DPS who stand outside AOE heal range and make me single target heal them after every raid wide AOE.
Black mages who use Convert while I'm already having a hard time keeping up with healing.
- Ranged dps standing too far apart so my cards/aoe heals never hit everyone. This is why I was so happy to see that the card range was increased.
- Beserk macros.
- Tanks making large pulls and not using cooldowns.
- Tanks not waiting like two seconds so I can apply stoneskin before a boss fight.
- Because I know tanks don't like to wait, on occasion I'll apply cards before a boss fight, then they start the fight when they've nearly worn off. This is probably my biggest pet peeve.
Uh, convert is required at specific points if they want to do their rotation correctly. It's not really optional.
As for pet peeves:
-When you get a party of 3 dps and 1 healer (you) on the later floors of PotD, and all three of them run off in different directions, leaving you wondering which one you're going follow. The other two are just going to have to learn the hard way that if you want heals you need to stay close to the healer.
-When tanks stand around waiting for my crit deployed adlo to reach 3 seconds left before pulling
You mean, what most of the dps say? I so quote your pet peeve, thought, second only to 'don't let your fairy do the heals, you're an healer and you should only heal'
Oh, also:
- I can eat all aoes but I'm not sitting in that blue bubble (Sacred Soil)!
- People spreading right during a deployment.
- People spreading
- Dragoons (Nah, just kidding on this one)
Probably the fact that ranged dps seem to want to be that cool kid off on their own. You can still maintain distance and be close enough so my aoe heals / buffs can get you... don't need to be on the exact opposite side of everyone as far as you possibly can. Especially if there's a party wide aoe, then complain why you didn't get healed right after it.
Once had a tank DEMAND that I only heal him if he went below 10%. Didn't listen to that stupid request (of course) and he just left. It still bothers me.
