Version check errors ps4 PS3 and pc

We can't download 3.4 on any of our systems this morning :(. We all keep coming up with the unable to complete the version check errors. We've been trying for the last couple of hours but it won't download :(. 3 of us are on ps4, one is on PC and the other is on PS3. We really want to get on and enjoy the new content.

Same I was hoping to buy apartment first thing. Don't see that happening now thanks to square enix program bugs. hope they fix it before todays over.

agree, i'm a PS3 player here, is there a email or something so we can contact SE about this error??

Same here the patch has been up for 6 hrs but i still can't d/l. This is a load of BS! We pay to play a game and we can't even log in. They could at lest say something to us.

yeah it's rare that there is not something about this issue on topic news "Unable to complete version check [20458][24530] [20457][410]...." something like that =(

Really annoying thing I want to play and I'm on the same situation with that error please help!!!!

I love how this is the only thing they say is know. Not Oh we have tons of people who can't play. The retainer's gear isn't showing OOO NOoooo!

Known Issue after Patch 3.4 (Sep. 27)
We have confirmed the following issue since the release of patch 3.4. The issue is being addressed, and we ask for your patience and understanding as we strive to resolve this promptly.

・An issue wherein items equipped and held by a retainer will not display properly after being summoned by a player.

* Once a player has encountered this issue, the issue will continue to occur as long as the retainer is summoned in the same area. Until the issue is resolved, please summon the retainer in a different area when requiring the service of the retainer.

{Update} Still can't play that is all lol. This is just getting silly now come on SE.

This error happened to me a lot, and I mean like every single patch past 3.0. It even showed up today before patch, but fixed itself after one try.

We still have no idea what is the prime suspect for this to happen and it might have multiple causes. However, those on PS3 and PS4 should not have to fiddle with program files of a game since its pretty hard to do as it is and for many of us reinstalling the whole thing is completely out of the question. Those on PC have the freedom to see what might be wrong and how to fix it.

My suggestion for those on PS3/PS4: Check the connection type your PlayStation has to the internet. If it is type 3, or sometimes even 2, then the server connection will not be good enough and sometimes even flat out rejects a good connection because it things its "not secure" or something. No good connection to the FFXIV servers = the error.

As for how to change the connection type, I am afraid that you will have to google it yourself as it can be a tad tricky.

THIS WORKS FOR THE PC VERSION! I can confirm that this option works!

Go to: my documents\my games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

Edit the file: FFXIV_BOOT.cfg (Open it up with Notepad)

Edit the line: BootVersionCheckMode from 0 to 1

Then relaunch your FFXIV Boot/Launcher and it'll start updating!!! YAY!
