Last predictions for MSQ

Okay, so the server are down and the patch notes are up. In less than 24 hours we can all rush to whatever new stuff we want.
This is also our last chance to make guesses regarding the main scenario of 3.4
What do you think?

Honestly, here's what I think. Don't worry about what content will drop tomorrow or what will happen with the MSQ. Make today a great day; call a friend or family member, go have a nice dinner, take the dog for a longer walk than usual, etc. This game will be here tomorrow and all of your questions will be answered.

My guesses:
His name is Barry and he has a birthmark on his face he is embarrassed about. He just lets people think he is wearing the mask to look cool.
No, though he might end up with a cold as there is a bug going around at the moment.
Yes. Tataru will yet again make nice clothes for someone while completely forgetting about the WoL who has fought along side her through thick and thin.
Fan girling over the Masks as both a fan of Masks and someone we really should have kept away from Ala Mhigans cause they bring out the worst in her.
Of course just so we can listen to that nice ambient music again, she can be a grumpy old woman and mistake Alisae for a boy.
Nah. They are a set. We will be dealing with them as a group.
Finally. Seriously that girl is way too much of a loner.
No though Elidibus might turn up to smirk villainously in the background.
No. He learned special meditive techniques from the local Nutkins of Dravania that now make him impervious to possession.

I have a feeling that the masked guy is the same guy that cut off Raubhan arm.

Are the rumors about a human machine created by this master true? Can machines feel something? Will the storry of X2 repeat?

Cause she isn't. She might be a monk, but all Scions are from Sharlayan. That's like the first thing we learn about them. Or did you fail to notice that she has blond hair, white skin and blue eyes, while Ala Mhigans are the exact opposite?

I could also tell you my name is Clancey and I once caught a 14 pound swordfish in the Bering Strait but that doesn't make it true. Yda is the only Scion that consistently has no fucking clue what's going on and needs Papalymo around so that she doesn't bunk up the Scion's operations too badly. She's also really good at not being caught, and you know who benefits greatly from being really good at not being caught? Fists of Rhalgr.

Also she seems really invested in the Ala Mhigan resistance. In the short cutscenes where she interacts with Papalymo in an area that is quite obviously a resistance staging area, she gets all worked up about Papalymo saying they need to take things slowly.

Also x2 god forbid a region that is very firmly connected to the rest of Eorzea have some racial and physiological diversity.

Doubt that we ever will get to kill them as they uphold a balance.

I do sincerely hope so, because she is one of my favorite characters.

Actually it is very likely she is Ala Mhigan. Not all of the Scions are from Sharlayan. They are just Sharlayan trained. Thancred for example is from Limsa Lominsa and used to run with the Rogues Guild. She doesn't look like a traditional Ala Mhigan but their might be a reason for that. Do remember, Minfilia was Ala Mhigan too.

Still from our experiences, Ala Mhigans are prone to being passionate, hot headed and rather dumb. Yda is dopey most of the time but she isn't usually particularly hot headed. I think that whatever her background is exactly it is very much connected to the fall of Ala Mhigo.

Actually, Ala Mhigans are fairly technologically advanced, it's just the Garleans got a hold of all of the "smart" ones in their occupation and all of the "dumb" ones were strong enough to get away. :P

The masked guy kind of confuses me as aren't there already 2 other masked guys (which might be the same guy)?

1)There's the guy that is kind of short that wears a mask that helps in the MSQ toward the end with the primals. He just kind of shows up and gives a hand. He kind of wears some random hoodie and a mask.
2)The white ascian guy wears a mask too right? It's not even certain if he's evil (Though of course he probably is), so I'm not sure where he fits in...and it's been a while since we've seen him.

Now there is a 3rd masked guy that we aren't sure who it is? Did I miss something in the MSQ or did they reveal who the last two masked people were?

Chilling with the Ala Mhigan rebels. I'm think she and Papalymo hid amoung them, and Yda's getting way too into it, while Papalymo is ready to rejoin us.

Will the party ask Matoya for help?
Yes, and she'll help us, begrudgingly.

Will we get to kill one of the warriors of darkness?
Seems too soon to do so, so I doubt it.

Will Alisae join us as a more permanent member of the Scions?
I believe so, but I don't think she'll be as active as Alphy. Perhaps more like Urianger has been.

Will we see a new Ascian overlord?
Yes

Will Thancred become posessed again, due to feeling useless?
No. It'd be a story retread for starters, and his inability to use any magic would make him rather unappealing as a vessel, Icd think.

I'm more worried about Urianger and Moenbryda.

Hmm I don't think so... I don't think they're actually evil either. Maybe they're under the Ascian control or probably acting as the villains in order to achieve something greater in order to protect Eorzea. Some people work in the shadows to achieve their own sense of justice.

I think we'll get to see more of the white cloaked Ascian.

Unukalhai is the name of the brightest star in the Serpens constellation.
This is the [hidden] 13th constellation of the Zodiac (FFT) that is only peripherally connected to the path of the sun.
in Final Fantasy Tactics, this Constellation was represented by the mage Elidibus who was also a Lucavi that summoned Zodiark.

How about Thancred does get possessed BUT its like by 6 or 7 different entities and they spend so much time bickering amongst each other that Thancred can operate relatively normally. :D

Because it was a statement made years ago, and decisions change. Especially for an on-going development game like this one. I don't ever recalling him saying it would never happen either. He gave reasons for not wanting it, but the idea wasn't completely given the axe.

The reasoning being that it's an Ivalice race and they're not gonna step on the toes of a previously established world with such a specific iconic feature to it. Something something after final consideration Viera just don't fit into Eorzea something something

That wasn't the deal at all. The TLDR was he wanted something original first, and felt they may be too similar to Miqo'te as pretty people with animal ears. So we got Au Ra.

Besides, I'm not sure how making a derivative of a popular race from Final Fantasy to add to Final Fantasy is "stepping on toes," especially if fans desire it.

That's like saying Chocobos being in more than one game is being inconsiderate to the first game to have them.

I know it was a Tanaka decision, but I feel the same way about Miqo'te and Mithra as I do about adding Viera.
If you call them something else and make up enough similarities to make them feel familiar, but distinctly a creature of Hydaelyn - what's the problem?
We're acting as if they haven't taken boat loads of inspiration from Ivalice in both gear and ... literally the entire Ascian storyline so far.

Yes we have the short guy (Unukalhai) and the ascian guy (Elidibus). Now the patch video showed a third guy wearing a white hood and a mask. This third guy is the question. But not for long.

Well since Moenbryda is long dead I don't think any particularly bad can happen to her. Except if Elidibus can somehow reanimate corpses. Hmmm. That would explain why Urianger is working with him.

Honestly at this point I am not convinced we will see a new race with the expansion. With Au Ra we at least had some reference to them and their origins relatively early one so they were introduced, even though it was in a small way, prior to the expansion launch. I cant think of anything so far hinting at a potential new race.

I'm actively hoping there isn't a new race, but so be it if there is.
I feel like the more races they add the more whining we'll get about how hard it is to make assets for so many body types.
AKA - Less gear diversity; AKA - PS2 Limitations

Honestly, I'd rather they detach horns from the face options on Au Ra before they do literally any other racial addition or modification.
That right there was a damn tragedy. Current races in general could use a lot more customization.

Still, none of this changes the fact that I will be Lala forever.

I think them adding a third clan to the existing races could be interesting. They could do Doman for Hyur, giving them a more unique look, and they already hinted that a third Au Ra clan exists somewhere.
