Thank the gods. Now all I have to do is hope they come out with a Shiva-Egi glamour down the road ; v;

That seems...pretty inconclusive. I mean yes, it's nice that SOMEONE with official knowledge is talking about it still, but given that we lack any sort of actual transcript or translation for what's being said in the show...not gonna hold my breath for it actually showing up, given the lack of any mention of it in either preview or the preliminary patch notes.

Given this "information" isn't coming from an official dev, don't get your hopes up quite yet. Would hate to see y'all get your hopes crushed. I know I won't get my hopes up, though I really want egi glam ;A;

I'd rather they do this than place too much effort balancing three+ pets. At least with this, we can get some visual variety and won't be too screwed over with which type of summon is best for what.

I'll admit that I was starting to harbor a hope that the radio silence on the topic of Egi Glamours was an indication that they were in fact planning a larger rework of the job to spring on us.

But any disappointment I feel that Egi Glamours are evidently still on track is solely my own fault for hoping for something that the devs had never remotely hinted at, if not out-right vetoed in the past.
So rather than whine about not getting something that was never really on the table, I'm just happy we still seem to be getting what they did actually promise us.

This was hosted officially by SE though so she was likely working from a script that had been OKed by Yoshi and co. From what I understand, however, she's talking about the egi-glamours alongside PotD stuff which means she MAY have been talking about 3.45. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they saved the egi-glamours for a minor patch since it's only applicable to a single job.

There's no mention of it in the Preliminary Patch Notes.

Yeah, but usually all that gets added in the final notes is specifics to the existing notes. There isn't even a section in the preliminary notes that has anything all all to do with Summoners or Egis or glamour.

Or having the ones we have adjusted to an extent. I will admit I'll use the glamour for the pets with the exception of Titan and maybe Ifrit. I'll rejoice in the fact there won't be 6 threads a week on the subject, or when people ask how to adjust summoner it won't get riddled with "Make it look pretty"

So this is great to hear, and even better that we won't have to hear about it so much.

I must be one of the few summoners that just doesn't care about egi glamour. I don't mind them the way they are.

That does not matter. You could say that we aren't getting any new gear since it's not on the prelim notes so it shouldn't be on the final notes...

One thing about SE is they don't release something until it's done. If they keep pushing it back its probably because they wanted to make sure it was a nice feature and not something just tacked on.

I'd bet they're trying to make it insteresting with lore quests and maybe even adding a crafting aspect to it like normal glamours.

I'll get excited when I see how they're implementing it... I have a very specific concept in my mind that I think works well (off hand item adjusts what pet you summon, so item that summons Ifrit means you can have tank or mage Ifrit as well), and a very lackluster concept I expect them to go with (talk to a NPC to swap them out, down the road you can swap Garuda for Ramuh, but that's it).

Seriously SE, let me go out, collect the summons through off-hand items, and then switch them on the fly... Let me go "Oh, I'm fighting fire based enemies" and whip out Leviathan, then move to water based enemies and switch to Ramuh... No benefits for obeying the long forgotten elemental wheel, but let me pretend... If I have to go talk to a NPC, or carry around dozens of Glamour Prisms... Ugh...

I sincerely hope they don't have egi glamours use any kind of consumable items. It should just be a simple UI that lets us change it at will once we've unlocked them. I expect there will be some minor lore and a quest associated with them though.

There's a section that says "New items have been added" with gear pictured below it. The final notes will list specifics on the items and gear added.

I'm hopeful that Egi glamour IS in this patch, there's just absolutely no indication based on the notes that it is actually being implemented yet. Hopefully I'm wrong and it will magically appear in the final notes.

They are human though, it could be an oversight, I mean let's be real, the Preliminary patch notes have had errors before, the most amusing one being the accidental release of all the recipes for the upcoming patch, which honestly I think is better but to each their own.

Considering how much is in the patch though, there is also the reality that it just got pushed back to 3.45 which would dissapoint people, but considering the amount of QoL changes made, reporting RMT messages, a very robust screenshot customization setup, apartments, aquariums, last set of Raid(savage), squadrons, think it's a little acceptable that it just got pushed back seeing as it is only for one job. So it would be a bit unfair to push something back just to please a single job.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This patch has me super excited. Egi glamour wouldn't have me near as excited. Though I admit if we could glamour Garuda as Diablos, since he's one of my favorite summons from the console games, then I'd be excited.

I don't think that we will see this in 3.4

It's a huge announcement and for sure they would have shown in the past letters if it's planned for 3.4.

Maybe in 3.5, but I bet in 4.0.

It just seems odd to completely omit a feature from the preliminary patch notes that a lot of players have been looking forward to for a long time. Yes, I get that they are preliminary notes, but again I feel that if they intended on implementing it in this patch, then there would have been some mention of it.

Maybe they intended to have it done, but some critical bug came up that is delaying it. Things happen when it comes to coding that you can't foresee. Something new will break something. You fix that yet it breaks something else. I'd rather they get it right than roll it out with possible game-breaking bugs.

Isn't the only thing that's gets added to the final notes are the stuff that affect the market in someway. I don't know this might be all there is this patch.

Yeah I'm not getting my hopes up for 3.4 either. I think if it was going to be in, you would have seen it in the trailer. New palace of the dead was shown in the trailer for example, even though it's not coming until 3.45.

Lets face it the only real problem here is the dev silence. If someone had came out and said it won't be in 3.4 or its going to be in 3.4 these aren't the final notes, then people wouldn't be as mad. But of course we don't hear anything at all.

I went over to the Japanese forums to see what they thought (translated posts that were made today in a Summoner discussion thread) and they seem to be confused about the glams not being in 3.4 notes, but they claim it was stated on the broadcast that it'd be in 3.4. I guess we'll see what happens in a few days.

Really doubt they wouldn't have advertised such a much wanted and highly useless feature in the Live Letters. Really doubt it will be in on Tuesday.

I really don't care much for egi-glamours. New summons now that would be exciting but summon glamours? No, not really.

Unless they made a typing mistake on the patch notes then Ego glamour will not come in 3.4. Most probably it will be in 3.45. Again it was supposed to be only for 1 summon and not all of them. He mentioned Carbuncle first but who uses this at high lvls?

Egi-Glamours are new summons, IMO... We're not going to get Summon IV, Summon V and Summon VI, there just aren't that many pet roles that can work in XIV or be balanced, Summon II is already pushing it IMO... I'm not particularly excited to have the option of using Carbuncle again, but provided they implement the system properly... I am somewhat excited to have the option of using; Leviathan-Egi, Ramuh-Egi, Shiva-Egi, Moggle Mog-Egi, Odin-Egi, Phoenix-Egi, Bahamut-Egi, Ravana-Egi, Bismarck-Egi, Thordan-Egi, Sephirot-Egi, Sophia-Egi, and Zurvan-Egi. Ideally I'd like to impose any of those over any pet type, so you can add Titan-Egi, Ifrit-Egi and Garuda-Egi to the list as well... I'd like the option of having Garuda-Egi for my tank pet, or Ifrit-Egi for my mage one, for example... Even if they implement it properly, they're adding these things so slowly that it'll probably be 4.5 before we see Shiva-Egi... Meanwhile they'll keep adding new Primals, so the list will keep getting longer...

At the very least, Carbuncle will have new moves for Summon III, and an Enkindle move, so that's interesting... I just hope they hurry up with Leviathan/Ramuh/Shiva if nothing else... Summoner should have the main six if nothing else...

You won't be using glamour on Carbuncle, you'll be able to glamour Carbuncle appearances onto Egis.

Does anyone remember the post 50 SMN job quests, right? There was a reason why we couldnt get new egis.

I wonder, what could it be our lore reason to have "new egis" ?
Also would you need to complete the Lv60 quest to get the egi glamours?

I was wondering, since usually they don't reveal items in the new patch, what if the reason for this that the egi-glamour is crafted and as such they are hiding it to avoid market inflation?
