Meh, if I wanted a rouge mount it would have to pertain to something a master thief/assassin would steal. The other mounts make sense for other classes. (unicorns, lions and war horses)

Considering that the Tank Mounts seem to be based on the Level i100/110 PvP gear, a Bat would has been more appropriate

I would switch back to Astro in a heartbeat for an owl mount, but I would prefer not to unless 4.0 rocks it as WHM is just way better for me, personally.

But no, the tank mounts exist to encourage people with the job leveled to play in the highest difficulty content as a tank.

The Conjurer unicorn exists for a similar reason; to get players to try healing.


DPS don't need exclusive mounts. DPS jobs are much more approachable and appealing to most players. We simply don't need goodies to get people to play them!


I would only be okay with this if ALL jobs gained special mounts and Tanks were given another reward on top of theirs.

Well...hate to say it. This ninja on a frog thing has already appeared in Final Fantasy XI. We all know they won't touch or take anything from that game, consider this request futile.

Please don't go down that route. I have met people claiming that the pokemon ninetales is a ripoff of naruto.
Also everything that has ninjutsu in it is a naruto ripoff apparently. Naruto didn't really add anything new other than making ninjas louder and more visible (AKA: Less ninja-like)

Thank you, for all of the people immediately stating that this is an obvious naruto reference it amazes me how few people know that the giant frog/snake/slug summoning in that show were pulled from a very old story called The Tale Of The Gallant Jiraiya.

(Note: it only amazes me from a personal standpoint because I love looking in to the inspiration for things and it's so easy to find~)

The characters Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru in Naruto are literally pulled right from that story. Naruto copied that~ so any time there is giant frog summoning in a game or in anime we are actually copying the old story of Jiraiya, not Naruto~ even though Naruto is the more well known story in this time period.

Heck if you look up old paintings of Jiraiya you may notice he even does the signature pose the ninja on the xi frog summon does, also in xi that was just a job specific emote, all classes had them.

Nope, just educating the "durhur that's so narutard of you to want" crowd before someone else does it less politely, because the more you know. Especially since it takes all of five seconds to find online and there is no excuse not to know it anymore.

They should have Ninja turtles not toads.

Would it not be a better suggestion, to just ask for the Toad mount to be added as a reward from a achievement or a dungeon drop, instead of tied to a Job? The Job mounts are meant to encourage players to play certain roles (tank and healer) which are not played by alot of players, the DPS role does not suffer from lack of players willing to play that role.

This is why I think adding it via a dungeon or other manner that is not related to the Ninja Job would increase the odds of this mount being added in the game.

It's ok if people don't know Jiraiya. It's not a basic knowledge.

But there're many ninjas in anime/movies/games that can summon and ride on a toad/frog. It's like one of the most iconic fictional ninja skills.

And like Laerune said, why tie it to a job?

The toads in this game are rather gross looking so I'd prefer a huge frog instead (and available for everyone). It would probable be a pretty bumpy ride though that mig get annoying after a while.

I think bringing up Naruto isn't that bad since, as far as I know, Yoshida had the devs watch Naruto when making the class. The fire attack we use is exactly like the one the Uchiha clan does. I'm also a huge Naruto fan and have watched it since it aired so I might be biased. Itachi <3

Now all we need is for the eventual Samurai class to be able to use three swords, like Zoro from One Piece, as their limit break. :P

I'd thumb up a bat mount, I love bats.

And fail gloriously at the incentive setting, seeing as roulettes do not count towards the mounts as if that wasn't the biggest bottleneck >_>

Personally, I've never been a fan of toads - I prefer snakes. So even if the toad was implemented, I'd probably not bother >.> But to each their own.

So if not a toad mount, how about we actually transform into a toad? I mean we could get transformation skills with a new mundra in 4.0 I rarely get to feel like an actual ninja so i'd be happy to disguise myself toad, snake, bat or random NPC.

That must be great if we can click on characters, npc, monsters then do a transformation mudra to become that thing.

The ninja in TERA online can do it on friendly NPCs and players, but wears off during combat. As for monster transformation: it could work like toad demon in jade empire. If we get a fourth mundra it could bring in more combinations beside the decoy shenaningans pulled off by Gekkai.

What if the NIN's mount instead of being a bat, it turned you into one?

It would make sense with NIN's story because of Karasu and how he would always poof in via a bat.
