Please add limit break usage to Hall of Novice

In the mentor roulette I often get new players who know nothing about the limit break;
What it does
How to use it
How its shared
How its affected by role

Its clear that newbies are doing the Hall of Novice because they have the gear.

Please consider adding the use of Limit Break with a fail mechanic if not executed properly.

DPS
A simple dps check that would require it. Kill the target before they finish a cast that will cause a wipe.

Healer
Two consecutive high damage aoe's, requiring the cast in between.

Tank
A tank buster, requiring the buff to survive a specific attack.

but it would be better to teach tanks and healers why they NOT should use their LB...

Yes please. I remember Aurum Vale, with a lv 49 smn, told him to limit break when the seeds were spawned. Specifically remember wording it "you go in there and limit break", and laughing so hard at seeing him run in there and...nothing. Afterwards he said "when you said 'and limit break' what did you mean by that?" /facepalm

"When" to use Limit Break seems to be mostly situational. For example if you have a caster or range Damage Dealer in a group its best to use Limit break right at the beginning of the boss or as soon as it is available in a boss fight due to how long it takes for it to build up..... which is total bs to begin with. Of course this will also depend on where you are in the dungeon. If on the last boss just use it when you feel its the best time... like if certain adds spawn in the middle of the boss fight like in AV...ect. I hate how slow Limit Break builds up when a caster or range damage dealer is in the group... there is no reason for it.

Anyway for healers or tanks its best to use Limit Break when all hell breaks lose and Death is knocking on the door.....

Again Limit Break is very situational and every person will have there own opinion on it... Some people are "glass half full" and will shrug it off. Some are the "glass half empty" and will complain and cry about it. I'm the kinda person who would see the glass of water and wonder why the room is slowly filling up with water.... anyway to each there own.... would it hurt to have a limit break tutorial? it could possibly hurt to have a tutorial or it could be a good thing... It will come down to how much depth the tutorial has. Best bet is to have at least 3 different situations for each role and make sure to say that Limit Break is situational and should not be used on a trash mobs that are in between boss fights unless the situation calls for it.... which proves my point that Limit Break is situational.

I think the main point is there are people out there that don't understand what "limit break" means. When they hit 50. Even not being aware of what the phrase means or how to use it by 20 is a failure on the game's part.

That might be a good idea to add it into one of the final steps in the training for new users. A tank buster or crowd of mobs, or just a single bad guy.

It's been so long, I do think the game does explain it to you at some point using their tool tips. No need to go into details of when to use it, just show them the situation. Whether inside or outside boss battles.

I wouldn't say it's completely the players fault for not knowing it by 50, there's a collaboration between the game and the player. At some point the player has to say "What is that?", I know I did..a lot. Ask questions from other users and even play around with it. People want to have some sense of exploration yet want to be told everything. The thing about the LB is they are not needed for the fights, so we should let the players creativity come into play when using it. If the tool tip is not in there (sorry it's been so long) then yes they should add it.

I see some people getting upset when it's not used at the correct times for them, with the exception of end-game or current high tier fights, it doesn't impact the results of the game that much if you use it on the last boss as a single target, or if the tank over pulls and you use the caster to help clear a large portion of adds.

yeah, healer LB3 maybe. i played healer for 3 years and NEVER used the LB1. i used the LB2 once. i was out of mana and an aoe was incoming wich would have wiped us otherwise.

i started to play tank a couple months ago. i have NEVER used any form of tank-LB.

This is pretty much right. Tank LB was only really used in a few choice fights, the ones coming to mind are before nerfs, Minstrels Ballad: Ultima, and Coil Turn 13. Both were a very nessecary thing to complete both of these trials. Other than that, Tank LB can be used as a life saver if people fail mechanics, example, before Garuda EX was nerfed, if we messed up and broke to many stone towers, you could Tank LB 1 or 2, and save the group from fatal damage from vortex blast or w/e her major attack move is called. Tank LB is generally frowned upon, but it has uses and I bet a lot of people would be surprised at any other uses it has as well. The game as a whole is in a "More DPS" Meta and tank LB won't get much play unless you absolutely need it to survive a mechanic.

I've seen tank lb3 put to good use in WoD when Cloud of Darkness had enough stacks to wipe us.

I have seen situations where tank, caster, healer & melee limit breaks have all been relevant. The important thing is to know when & how to use them. Nothing can be harmed by teaching new players this.

I'd like to see this as a DPS of what the limit break would actually look like targeting wise since the rest of the party would know or what would be the best way to aim/target to get the most out of.
