So I have to ask does anyone think there'll be specific fish you can't actually put in one? I assume there's a hard limit on the number of fish you can put inside but I'm curious which ones you can't in the first place.

It'll probably only allow certain fish to go in as opposed to certain ones being disallowed.
maybe only legendary fishes
My question is: Will there be a limit on how many aquariums we can have in a house/room?
Something tells me that they'll have it One-per house/room, for server reasons... >3>
I found this online from the recent Lodestone post.
*After catching fish from the various reaches of Eorzea, you can put them on display using an aquarium in a free company estate, personal estate, private chamber, or apartment. Please note there is a limit of one aquarium per estate or apartment, as well as one per private chamber.*
From what I observed from today's live letter: you can place 1 to 7 fishes (according to size), up to 4 different types in the large aquarium. Feels pretty reasonable to me.
Update:
Forgot to mentioned this earlier, but based on the live letter, fish comes in 4 sizes, taking 1, 2, 4 7 slots. And the large aquarium can hold up to 7 slots, so you can mix-and-match up to 4 types of fish. :)
You can't place Leviathan inside.
I wonder how we're gonna put the Mazlaya Marlin in it. I mean, if you saw the FSH 50 quest, that thing's almost as big as a ship.
And what about fish that live in magma? Are we gonna have an aquarium filled with lava? o.O
Then there's the Pteranodon and Pterodactyl... among others.
Considering we only saw options for salt and fresh water, it's possible they won't include fish acquired from sky fishing or magma fishing
I hope they make it possible to add in more aquariums later to a single room. It's a shame how limited it is atm. You can't really do much with it, at max you can show off 7 fish but at min it's 1.
I think it would of been better to allow players to place in more aquariums but to limit the amount of fish you can show to 7, that would of made more sense then to make it a min of 1 and max of 7. Cause then if a person wanted to they could show off 7 large fish in aquariums but as it stands now if you want to show off a big fish you most likely can only pick one.
They said they may change the number of aquariums allowed per residence at a later time and they would consider cloud fish, so I'm assuming cloud fish can't go in it at this point. Not sure how lava fish would work. "I know all you can see is lava, but trust me, there's a pretty bossin fish in there."
Right now, the limit is one aquarium per area because they didn't didn't have the time/manpower test out and fix having multiple aquariums.
A limit per area would be meaningless if all aquariums showed the same fish when more than one aquarium is placed.
Their goal seems to be to have multiple aquariums each which can hold different fish.
