Are you ready for cooldown resets to get removed the day after they're added?

Because the only way I can see anyone managing to exploit this is if they don't make it so all participants in a duty get wiped of all buffs whenever a boss resets. But that's how it's going to work, right?

There is literally no way I can see this being exploited, the only way possible is if the system is dumb and resets something arbitrary like cordials. As for what you are saying, all buffs will be wiped, but skill cooldowns will be reset so that skills like Hallowed ground and benediction will be usable from the start of every run

Why would you think that they would remove something this necessary for raiders?

The issue is certain OGCD skills don't get reset during wipes. And example being Benediction, which has a 5 minute cool down. If you try to Bene to save the day, but miss, wipe 30 seconds later, you still have 4 minutes and 30 seconds before you can Benediction again, despite everyone's buffs and skills being turned off at the boss's reset at a wipe. The cool down is still there even though the fight should logically be a total restart at that point. It certainly is for the boss!

Right now, teams facing savage and ex raid bosses are forced to wait for everyone's skills to slowly tick down and reset before another try. It's been a major complaint for years as it pulls a ton of time away from learning parties, another detriment to current raids.

So yes, it should work as intended as it isn't changing anything but OGCD timers. Buffs and debuffs will drop off as usual.

We'll see but for all we know 1 certain group will figure out how to tweak or get past something then force an emergency patch to fix it up. I want it as well, but I just get a feeling they will forget something.

I'm actually more worried about glaring oversights in the opposite direction. Like Nin poison, Cleric stance, Tank stance and Food buff also being reset on wipe by accident.

I see it hard to exploit, but easy to abuse when not in pre-made groups. For example, say you're fighting Sophia EX (just for fun, since we know nothing about her), and your MT is a PLD that just used Hallowed Ground. Maybe she has some obnoxious series of tank busters that are easier to get through with Hallowed Ground, and the PLD feels that the group will wipe because he used Hallowed early. He decides to cause the group to wipe so he can try again and time Hallowed better with her attacks. The healers, however, were sure that they could heal him, and everyone's now annoyed that he wiped them just to get a CD back.

Conversely, we could consider this from the healer perspective and she used Benediction too early and sees the group wiping because of that. So she refuses to heal and ultimately causes the group to wipe. Given how often players throw in the towel at the slightest sign of trouble in EX Primals (Twelve forbid you don't follow the videos to a tee, at least to some people I've run with), I think this is what SE sees as a potential problem with CD resets. Not abuse from gatherers or serious statics, but your DF and PF pugs.

To be fair, all of those but food is just a click away anyway, so I wouldn't see that as being an issue...

While these are all very real possibilities, I'd rather see just how much of a QoL improvement it is before trying to guess how long it might be before someone tries to exploit it.

Then kick this idiot from the group? People wiping the group on purpose, because of own mistakes, shouldn't be tolerated in df/pf anyway.
Why do you ask what we should do if 1 player "annoys" 7 others? I don't think that's a problem.

I'm thinking it'll be a min max kind of thing. Sending in a healer to go pull, while the DPS pop all of their CDs, just outside the arena. Boss resets, people immediately pull, healer slips in just before the lockout, giving every DPS and tank 10-25 seconds of free buffed DPS, which can be immediately buffed again by the reset CDs. Just a guess.

I don't raid or do difficult content enough to really care what happens to this one way or the other.

Even in such a case, dying drops your GP to zero, so the amount of use that would have is questionable... unless triggering a wipe/reset in a way that doesn't actually involve you dying still works (such as the whole party falling out of bounds in the Ultros/Typhon fight)

I think I know one single fight were you might be able to do that (A6S) without needing at least 10s to reach the boss (like in A5S, A7S) due to slides: But your healer has 0 MP now and misses out 5-8 GCDs. Great min-maxing. ;)
5-10s extra buff on the dps won't up the dps by 1000+ for the first 15s, which is what the healer would have done (he can't be needed for healing, 'cause we were talking about him killing himself).
For the rest of the fight assume his dps half of his usual dps (since he has only 30% of his MP on the start).

When you are running a hallowed/living/holmgang strat in a fight with tight mechanics, its already these days a wipe, when you used it at the wrong place. This is one of the reasons this feature got requested. Not the most important reasons, but one of them.

Well, if the buffs themselves reset (ie, turn off) at the moment of the boss's reset, it would prevent this scenario.

"Boss reset" is not the same thing as "party wiping"
