Yeah, let's imitate our dead friend and an event that a lot of people were killed in a stage play so the people of Ul'dah can laugh at it.
Feel awkward, tbh.

It's an excercise in Catharsism. I see no problem with it.
So is most of what goes on in the Waking Sands.
I don't think it was meant to be humorous to them, though.
I gave perfect performance and bard didn't show up.
To get the bard you need to complete the full quest series - at the end they encourage you to reprise your role.
If you do it at this point you will get an option for the bard if you follow the correct answer pathway
People really don't know how to get the Minstrel to show up?
Kinda surprising, since its just another dialog choice in the play.
What are you talking about? Everyone can access the scene with the Wandering Minstrel provided they finish the entire event questline before doing the play again. And then the game actually PROMPTS you to select "The Wandering Minstrel appeared!" Reactions like this are WHY SE doesn't give the 1.0 players special cutscenes any longer, because people wanna get mad that the old players get acknowledged for actually being around for that event.
As for the event play - it's not meant to be funny. It's meant to be a reminder of what happened and how the realm was saved, even though they can't remember the Warriors of Light.
They should have put the Wandering Minstrel option as the first choice.
What? You mean you didn't replay that quest just out of sheer curiosity to find out what happens if you pick one of the wrong options?
Your loss
I particularly like the ending where Louisoix eats Bahamut.
The only thing I dislike about this event is how there are "right" and "wrong" choices. I want to create a heavenly train-wreck, SE, LET ME DO IT!
