At What Point Does It Become Justified?

I'm curious, since the subject Im about to discuss seems to have so many different viewpoints and can potentially split the team. Either way, I'd just like to get a few 'personal' opinions, no matter how differing and laughable some may be (I mean no offense). Anyway, heres the question...questions:

At what point has shi...'stuff'...gone too far in Frontlines, in other words...'legal' (any action that isn't hacking imo ;p) actions, tactics, by the opponent team...that require a response of some sort? When is simple, honest, hateful revenge justified?? At what point are game objectives to be ignored completely in favor of a focused righteous curb-stomping of the offending team?

As far as I'm concerned..as long as it doesn't violate the rules of the ToS agreement (which simply amounts to hacking imo) A N Y action from an enemy team against yours is 100% legal. Bad taste, poor sportsmanship, 'dirty tactics', whatever, (these phrases mean nothing), from the enemy team is completely allowable. After all..you're sure as hell not there to have tea and discuss world peace with the members of a rival gc. You're there to kill them, and vice versa. As such, tactics like spawncamping or attacking your team even though your dead last, while 'shameful', are perfectly allowable. Of course. . .

So what would you personally say is the breaking point? When is enough enough? Some would say never, that theres no such thing, that you should always try to maintain your cool and keep focusing on the objectives, regardless of what style of play is being thrust upon you. Some believe winning is the most important thing (liek..why else would you be in pvp if not to win, right ...so to speak) and are willing to endure outright abuse without slightest response to obtain it. PvP's sensible version of 'the better man.'

Then there are those who think some modest form of response to say...spawncamping, is agreeable, only however, if its on the path to the objective. In other words, yes, some revenge is good and healthy, but don't go out your way for it and lose your perspective. Get a few licks back if at all possible, but don't allow the opposing team to childishly 'pull your chain.' The decent class thats willing to put the interest of fellow teammates with a desire to win, ahead of their own need for revenge.

What about you?? Me humbly ask you to state your own thoughts and views. While Im sure it may develope into a ....passionate...subject, please try not to verbally smack others with a wooden spoon for theirs.


As for my own opinion, I r ashamed to say I fall into the last class of selfish idiots who care nothing whatsoever about winning, nor for teammates interested in such (me getting my cookies in pvp > you getting your crappy mount) And if me care nothing for me teammates (save...how much hp your body has left remaining in it to continue functioning as a living shield for meh) how much less Im willing to even slightly suffer overly aggressive opponents. Me is the kind that will GLADLY drop winning objectives and simply give the uninvolved team a free win in favor of having a second date with the team that just had to have a houseparty on our flag w/o at least some justifiable reason. Even if its animalistic thinking, far as Im concerned, pvpwise, theres nothing more deeply satisfying than well deserved revenge. What's a passive victory where you limp to 1st place from following objectives and successfully praying to rngesus to be merciful...verses 2nd or even 3rd, along with that righteous, fear of god-azz-whoopin the other team had coming for that cute little spawncamp? Far far far more important things than just another notch on a win record.

Anyway, your own thoughts.

Uh~~~~h...c-cuz..like..I...just get off from fighting other pvpers, wins and rewards be damned to hell? Which, iiiii~f done correctly, with liek, a healer kill for example when dealing with a large crystal, has the effect of making the rest of the team easier to kill? :D Anyway, back to topic....am I correct in assuming you're the passive, stay focused on the objective type?? I don't think it's wrong. If a premade team wants to ignore the ices and just farm killing people, it's their business.

I don't want to play against that kind of premade team, but it's their right. So I just stop doing FL during weekends.

It'll be good though, if pre-made teams will be matched up against each other instead of getting into the same match with random team from other GCs.

Hitting the ice must be the most boring thing you can do in PvP. That's not what I'm 20 minutes in a q for, come on. We have that in pve already, and a lot quicker.

At least SE acknowledged that and will try to make it more like PvP than PvE in future updates.

As far as I'm concerned, the absolute best way to piss someone off is to beat them. The best way to do lasting psychological damage is to beat them repeatedly. I keep my cool in FL because the instant gratification of curb stomping someone doesn't compare to making sure that I've ruined their entire night by causing consecutive defeats ... that is, back when I used to play Front Lines. That game mode is dead as long as Shatter exists in its current form. So, anything's fair game right now. People can spend the entire time getting into dance offs, for all I care. It makes no difference in a crappy game mode like Shatter.

When the score becomes to insurmountable for the current team I have. Someone posted a pic in another thread score was 1k, 300, 600 roughly. So when the 1k team hit about 600 or 700 i always like to say, "Lets farm some kills, work on achievement and try to help second place team win."

While I enjoy winning, I also enjoy making sure other teams don't win. And is good as any premade is in a 24, 16 vs 8 is hard. Some times the second place team is an idiot. Other times they are Happy for the extra help. I kind of miss slaughter and having 16 guys standing at the top waiting for the premade and just stomping them down.

. . .marry me. And ya, with duels FINALLY coming out, + just a reason to hang around at the wolves den like its a bit more of a fight club now sounds pretty cool.

I can't wait for duels, but my fc members are scared to challenge me lol

This is why I liked Seal Rock, but that's dead now.

Seal Rock is literally the best pvp FL mode. Hence the reason it had 72s for so long. Literally always had 72s until feast started, but still would get some until Shitter started and now no one queues. :/

I think for people who have pvped longer, winning doesn't Matter as much as killing or getting revenge does. I always see you out on the field and I already know what you're going for. Haha.

The problem with that, is that it's breaking completly the game.
Either you are:
A) In the same party of a premade of 5-6, you can't win because they aren't playing the objective.
B) In the party which are farmed, you re just chain killed, you can't play.
C) In the ignored party, you just tag PvE objective.
It results that, mostly, you can't enjoy the game in these condtions at all. Only the people in the premade are enjoying it, spitting on others players in the process. And I find that 5 people enjoying it when 19 are just wasting their time is quite unacceptable...
Premade was always something completly broken, but it took a complet new sens in shatter kill farming.

- Enemy dies from falling
- *Uses fireworks*

That made me be the focus of the entire enemy alliance in some games...

Yeah, I agree and I hope SE do something about it. Not sure what can be done though.

As it stands, premades - with no disrespect to their individual skills as players, let alone coordinated teamwork - really don't mean much to me. Not saying avoid/don't make/don't enjoy them, but I have every issue with people being so wary/fearful/sick of them that they just stop queueing at give days/times. Or worse, giving up early/mid match. Why should one single group get to enjoy PvP and no one else (which, consider that once people stop queueing in avoidance, matches don't happen). Call me stubborn but hell if I roll over and let that happen.

With full premades, that's an issue either way, as they will get priority in the queue and block out solos from their GC. Moreover, chances are if people don't queue with premades around, it's because they don't get to enjoy PvP at those times and naturally will be proactive about it when they notice a pattern.

As the OP says, every action has its consequence. If you demoralize people, you'll have less people to play with and thus longer queues, something that becomes painfully obvious in a community as small as this.

That's unfortunately all too true. I FINALLY got friends of mine on my server to try PvP with me last night, only to wind up in highly abnormal matches where one GC threw the match targeting ours, then a premade that effectively did the same, but more than that, caused the more experienced players except myself and 2 others to simply give up and not bother trying. . . This was the first impression they got, and after months of me trying to at least spark some interest on a server that generally treats PvP like an allergy. I hope to be wrong, but the likelihood of getting them to try it again is rather slim (and thus, even less people who will try PvP now).

There is no to far. You are playing against a party, thats the fun of it! No script, no "rules" just killing, defending, and offense.
