POTD is becoming...silly (don't want to be too harsh)

So I got my two main toons their weps and I thought hey I will use this to level my Pugilist to Monk....what a difference from when they first introduced it.
Now all people seem to want to do is run around aggroing everything because they feel it is too easy or because they want to get through faster. Either way this results in more wipes than ever before.
Last night I had a WAR that had 30/29 (so some experience obviously) well from the very beginning I see her run into (floors 41-50) the first room and make a quick circle gathering all mobs so I kinda stayed back for a minute to see what happened while she is surrounded by all kinds of AOEs from 4 mobs. She immediately dies. FIRST ROOM! So I ask that she do not aggro everything at once. No response. She gets a rez. Before bar is full again same thing on very next room she aggros everything at once her buddy the BRD is right there with her not even ranging attacks just right there, massive AOEs they go down the poor AST gets caught in the middle and goes down...so I ask again to stop with the crazy pulls and get told off I rez the AST and we get every one up. Needless to say IT WAS PAINFUL!! but we did get to the end by miracle and only had 3 more near wipes...yeah POTD is getting silly floors seem to be getting a lot more mobs once you get into 31 and up and groups are getting...well....stupider (?)

If they were dying to single room pulls and telegraphed AoE's, sounds like the warrior was slow at dodging and the AST was slow at healing.

Unless they had multiple Karakens to spam the drawn in ability.

I've taken 2 groups of 3 DD through floors 41-50 with no problems, but then again I'm not stupid and do not pull more than my Cd's can handle.

For example you get those rooms full of mobs going in and pulling them all with a good comp is well just stupid, can you guarantee you wont trigger a trap and be fucked.

The runs were not that much slower, maybe faster then ideal comps, sounds like you got someone who in my opinion has no right to be playing the tank role.

If you had a AST and a WAR wouldn't that mean the other two roles really do not matter ? Makes no sense to me why they would try to wipe that run.
I admit I have straight up left a group on floors 31-40, three DD group again but they are doing what your War did to you, I asked them to stop and let me do my job because a faster run. they carried on so I left and made coffee.

all we can do is move on and pray it wont happen again, I see a lot less of this BS because I tank but as I said earlier i'm not immune to also getting idiots( not bad players just idiots) in parties.

I think I was that AST, or I was playing on my AST and had a run just like that. OP name does look familiar though.

Honestly, PoTD went from a dungeon crawl to a speed run. With people at different phases (some want chests for weapon/armor others just want to get through fast to get the potshards) and different approaches, PoTD is really a mixed bag. Sometimes my best groups are 4 DD's, other times it is a one room wipe with a normal party composition. Either way, it is more exciting than facerolling an expert roulette.

At least you didn't get a comp of 3 dragoons and 1 healer (me).

On the first normal pull one person died, on the second pull 3 people died and someone ragequit.

I don't think we could have gotten through the run anyways.

It does seem to have gotten harder. I don't know what people are doing now but wipes are happening more often.

Also fairly common now to get people who want to speed run to the next floor, avoiding enemies and even chests, and they get mad at you for wasting their time if you try to fight enemies for exp and items.

Since these are only the first 50 floors, it makes me kind of worry about reaching 200 or even 100 with how difficult people are making it.

Admittedly, I've also gotten into the habit of avoiding all fights except those necessary to activate the cairn or get to chests. So once the map is clear of chests and the cairn activated, I park myself on it, tab out and let the others do whatever they want until I hear the transmission sound - The drop rate of chests, let alone useful items from the chests, is too low to justify killing mobs over it even with fortune up IMO and you get more than enough experience just clearing for chests.

It seems that they do not understand that aetherpool level is what lets you progress and not just exp which really who cares it's only temporary anyway.

To be fair - when PotD came out, a great many rumors started, one of which being that the chance at increasing aetherpool level was dependent on your PotD level, rather than floor. The most common theory was:"You can't increase aetherpool beyond your current PotD level divided by 2". The myth was debunked, several times, but it might still linger.

Even now, there's still the common myth that the XP you gain on non-60 classes at the end of the floor set is a fraction of the XP you gained inside - which is false as well, it's a set amount based on your current level and the floor set itself (Armory bonus applies, other boni do not).

There's a further myth that clearing a floor entirely will increase spawn rate of silver chests in subsequent floors, which I wager is false as well, but it's harder to disprove than the other two.

I'm not blaming people if they want to kill everything or fall for one of those theories, but...I don't feel like participating myself.

It's just like any content, if you're still doing it when the better players are done with it...watch out.

I think maybe many people are using it to level classes they want to complete just for the sake of having all 60's but aren't particularly interested in learning - so don't really know how to play.
It's a fast way to level alt classes but not a great way to learn them (too fast).

It can be fun though - I had a crazy 30-40 run recently - so many mob spawn traps everywhere.
