An /idle command

It was just a thought a few of my friends and I spoke about - but what if there was an /idle command where it would animate the character doing something based on their class.

For example: If you're a Bard and you use /idle it brings out its harp and plays on it randomly until you decide to move again.

For a Dragoon, random twirling of its lance.

For a Ninja, it sits on the ground and sharpens one of its many knives.

For a Monk, it poses in a few acrobatic forms or shadowboxes.

That's just an idea... I'd especially love to see an idle Bard throwing down a very light /idle ballad of some kind.

Seems like a good idea to me. Besides, more persistent emotes are always welcome in my book.

Oh, the /idle for Bard - I think it'd be a great idea if it played Edward's theme from his harp (sans Final Fantasy IV)

A Summoner or Scholar interacting with their pet. One can dream.

Every bard would be playing and you wouldn't be alto hear your own music very well.

This is a really great idea. I would love to see it implemented.

More class specific emotes and interesting idle actions would be wonderful!

Technically we already do have an idle pose (setting /changepose to random will regularly shuffle through random poses if you're idle). But more emotes/poses is still a good thing. :)

Machinist starts spinning their weapon like Revolver Ocelot or something.

I swear I've seen this post before, that said I'm always up for more idle animations. SE have done something similar with adding in class-specific bstance and victory pose emotes, but I would enjoy seeing some new ones being included into just the regular idling stance.

Like glamour, emotes are also the true end game.

That would be the neat thing too - you would have an option to disable other people's music or noises as well. Wouldn't be hard to implement.

Dev team - can we "please look forward to it"?

If they added this, and combined it with a restructure of the emotes that allow player on player interaction, it'd make my day, and days to come. The ability to make out and cuddle is a must. D;

Oh god I would love this. Not sure what WHM's would be though.

A White Mage /idle would be them holding their hand out infront of them, palm upwards and looking at a faint light glow. Add a few firefly effects and there you go.

A Black Mage would basically be a firestarter - it'd just be something similar where it'd hold both hands out and you'd see fire effects and occasionally a small bomb dancing with the flames.

Bard should be able to pick from the orchestron roll, or better yet let anyone use instruments and do it that way.

So devs/moderators. Any thoughts to this at all? =)

Hey, ice is just as important to BLM too :p
I want some nice sparkly ice crystals to play around with when afk ;)

But yeah, this would be great :)
