I created a chart to combine all the information we have about materia.

Also, please don't distribute without permission, thank you.
While it's a nice chart, I didn't know that you can copyright someone else's IP?
It's also hard to read, I find a simple data driven materia chart to be easier on the eyes, as well as easier to check. Like Jet's Mooglebox one here: http://mooglebox.com/materia/index.php

They probably just don't want their bandwidth sucked up into nothing if you spread it around.
It's not too bad once it's opened up larger. But I agree, mooglebox is easier, since you can remove what you're not looking for.
Cool stuff.
here are two other usefull charts :
http://www.loremipsumls.net/pics/materiabyslotarmor.png ---- materia by gear slot
http://www.loremipsumls.net/pics/materiabyslotarms.png ---- materia by weapon/shield
Mind if I copy this to my LS site?
Awesome Chart
Nice Chart!
Its likely the OP wants credit hence the distribution.
I don't typically use people's efforts without at least linking it back to the thread I found it on.
Awesome work!
I would suggest adding accessories. A quick summary of what I've noticed
Rings:
STR, MND, Attack+, random status resists
Wrist:
Blood/mana/lifethirst
Havent really tested necklaces or earrings.
(Also, is this still a work in progress? I have noticed a few omissions)
@Molly_Millions and Holy_Dragoon, I don't mind if you use the chart for your LS sites.
I also have it posted on FFXIV Pro.
Just so there is no confusion, this chart shows restrictions on what materia can be slotted into weapons and armor. As accessories cannot be slotted w/ materia, there is no reason to have them on the chart.
If I see anything I wish to add to the chart, I will make adjustments and repost (though at the moment I'm happy with how it turned out). I am curious to know what "omissions" you believe I made.
One comment - Don't fill up the "empty" values with the previous value because the Grade (I used this term instead of Tier) directly affects multi-materia melds.
A +1 Craftsmanship is Grade 1 where chances are concerned and not Grade 2, 3 or 4.
nice chart, i just shared it on napster!
Not 100% sure what empty values you're referring to, unless you mean how certain grades of materia can have possible values that are the same (Grade 1: 1,1,1,2). I don't feel it should be shown as just 1,2 since when you break the equipment int materia you have the same chance to get that 2 value as you have to get a 10 on one that's (7,8,9,10), where as you have as good a chance at getting a 1 value as you have of getting a 7 8 or 9 individually.
Also the total bonus has a much greater effect on the chances for multi-slotting than the grade does: the chance to slot 2 Tier III's that grant +15 STR (+30 total), is worse than the chance to slot a Tier III @+10 STR with a Tier IV @+16 STR (+26 total).
Ok, I think I see what you meant about filling the empty spaces, if Tier I has 1 and 2 as possible values, there is no way to tell if it's 1,1,1,2; or 1,1,2,2; or 1,2,2,2. I'll look into changing that, or finding more concrete evidence as to where the numbers change.
Chart Updated
Very well worked out. I liked.
awesome chart, i find it easier, you should put your name ON the chart, thats the only way to keep credit/copyright.
Chart v.1(final) posted, earlier versions will be taken down in a few days, so use this latest chart.
Also thanks for all the feedback.
Really the nicest and most usefull materia Chart around, any chance for an update with last update materias included? ^^
