Trust me, we've stolen some pretty awful players too. <3
Well Gilgamesh is known for being the NA/EU raiders server.
But they may of also stolen so bads who think they're good too. xD!
Really? People on Balmung were saying how toxic the server was and it was shouted back that Gilgamesh is worse.
im sure it has some very very established high quality fc's that focus heavilly on this like elysium, but im also certain there probably a screening process that goes along with it, as a result just walking into any server without knowing or having a plan or plans made or a static ready to take you, is going to be the same as any other server. Pretty sure theres as many bads and goods as there are ratio wise on smaller pop servers. Also gotta remember that its an unofficial rp server as well, so theres that attraction too to the player base. Sure if youre one a dead or dying server, moving might be an option, but if you want to find good players you still have to talk and make friends, join a few linkshells, meet likeminded people, put up pf's get your name out there, thats really the only way you'll get ahead, find a static or make one, and one thats pleasant. Bonds dont always drop in your lap without effort
when it comes to end game, Hyperion is kind of dead :/
The Server wars are an inevitability.
there really arent any server wars, theyre glued to aether data center atm. Nothing special here
I've been in Gilgamesh for about a year before I went to Balmung and I could say it is pretty toxic. Balmung isn't any better though. Just avoid Ul'dah and Idyllshire I guess?? Sometimes the chat is so nasty over there.
In the end, every server has their fair share of bad apples.
But can Gilgamesh tell you why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
WOW, I guess Cactuar is the east coast NA end game server with GOOD PLAYERS.
Cactuar is full of end game raiders and parties for ex trials and such. I mean a LOT. A lot, a lot.
Like, the party finder is filled with raid shit. And on top of that, them queues to get into the server at night are on step.
I tired Gilgamesh and Balmung and the only ones there are dicks. Plain and simple.
Besides, you all followed MrHappy to his 2 servers of choice. Yeah, that's exactly what yall did.
But, anyway, Cactuar is a high pop east coast NA server with more GOOD end gamers than MrHappy's 2 servers.
Idk isn't Gilgamesh just the meta world of this game? I think people just go there, no real reason for it.
I don't know.... I rarely meet a rude player in FFXIV but when I meet one, most of the times they're from Gilgamesh.
I noticed that people tend to go back and forth between Balmung and Gilgamesh when transferring servers, probably due to them being high population more than anything.
I have characters on both servers I Gilgamesh is a bit more competitive overall; from MB, raid, PvP, etc. That isn't to say that Balmung raid isn't a thing ... however, the MB economy is pretty bad, everything there sells significantly lower in comparison.
The main thing keeping me in Hyperion are my FC mates, and that's about it. Market Board is terrible, the place feels empty, and nothing feels inspiring when it comes to the people that are already there, if I'm not there to intentionally stir things up. But it feels better knowing I'm hanging out with people I've been with since stage 4 beta, than to go to a server where I'll see more randoms I'll probably still try to ignore and envelop myself in my own personal space.
Uh, I xferred to Gilga because I had old WoW buddies here. Nice generalization though.
OP,
Gilga does have a lot of players, but I'm gonna be real, unless you're crazy good it's hard to stand out here. Lots of average to below-average players makes recruiting a pita.
I don't regret moving here, but had I not had a static waiting for me it would have been really rough. I'm pretty good, but not like amazingly top tier or anything :c
Not everyone who is on Balmung/Gilgamesh is there due of that.
The one is Mainly for Character Developement, Stories and People who like to Gather together.
The other one has a large LGBTQ Community who tends to stick together, it has a Raid Scene and People get things done together.
Personally you can view me as a refugee on Gilgamesh, I have a matter to discuss there with someone and until that isn't solved, I'm going to stay there.
Am I the only one who hasn't watched any Videos of that Guy? .. I guess so but whatsoever : o
Gilga will gladly take your wanted/unwanted players as well as your salt.
The toxicity of Balming and Gilgamesh often gets overplayed. Because both servers boast the highest populations on the western side, you're odds of bumping into bad or rude players is simply higher. When I first started out and transferred to Balmung, a complete stranger gifted me 100,000 and a fatcat (back when they were expensive too) for no other reason than I was a sprout. I found out later she does this a fair bit just because she likes helping newer players. So while toxic jerks can certain ruin your perception, plenty of extremely nice players occupy both servers too.
Ishgard housing!
I don't know about a single good player that left Ragnarok for Gilgamesh, maybe a few who were under average and thought that it would solve their problems which kinda doesn't hurt me. Gilgamesh can keep them. :)
I dont know about Gilgamesh but a lot of good players move to Odin from across other EU servers to raid here
Is this why Excalibur is so dead? -_-
All good players ? How is that so ? I am still on Ragnarok ;D
Might not relate to the topic but ..
Among Primal Data Center,Good ppl I teamed up with on DF are mostly from Hyperion,Excalibur and Leviathan .. just saying from 2 years experience.
This isn't true. Good players know they're good and don't need to jump ship so quickly to get stuff done. My fc and link shells on sargatanas have some pretty amazing players.
We all clear and farm stuff all the time.
