AST : thought on Collective Unconscious

Hi my healer friends,
I find it personnally quite frustrating not to be able to do anything else while casting CU when WHM and SCH can still heal and do things in their bubble.
Especially when a big blow is coming and you know you need both mitigation and healing.
It's not fair...
What s your point of view ? Would you like to see things changed ?

I feel it's fair. The bubble is OP. SCH can only shield, WHM can only regen, while our bubble shields even when we are in regen mode AND adds a regen effect with such a crazy potency that I rarely need to heal at all while the effect applies :)
No movement/casting while using it is the ONLY drawback. If that was gone, it would be way too imbalanced.

Scholar actually can Regen and shield at the same time if they're so inclined: Sacred Soil + Whispering Dawn, whose potency can be buffed (Rouse), twice (Fey Illumination), while also buffing all other healing actions, while simultaneously putting up yet another Shield (Succor or Adloquim + Deployment Tactics, which can be super effective if Adlo crit). SCH will probably be using Selene, but they still have the potential to do this.

Granted, that's a lot of actions, but the faerie can also heal while setting all this up and the SCH isn't movement/action locked while this is in effect. And it is possible to have this all set up and ready to go before the enemy does whatever it is that needs mitigated. Adlo or Succor can be made instant cast with Swiftcast too. There is a reason why SCHs who have mastered micromanagement can trivialize mechanics.

I feel like they should buff CU to at least be able to cast while using it (so movement can still cancel it).
In Diurnal I feel its more balanced. However if you play Nocturnal, it is not balanced to the SCHs Soil (which is on a 30second CD, and can be placed on the ground).

I mean are you really burning an aetherflow stack on sacred soil every 30 seconds? xD My gripe with collective is that it's based on the server tick. When you use it, at least the regen should automatically apply and then be refreshed by the server tick, so you don't completely waste the cd.

I don't think they can immediately apply the regen because every other ground-targeted field is reliant on the server tic as well. Seems like it's a hard coded thing.

One solution is the allow the AST to throw up Collective Unconscious but if the AST is interrupted or they end the bubble prematurely, the bubble will persist for 3 seconds to ensure the bubble dishes out its tic. You'll be able to cast magic while the bubble persists for the previously mentioned duration.

I don't think it would be hard to code:
1) Instant AoE regen to anyone within 6 yalms
2) Skill as it acts now, forming a 6 yalm channel barrier, which will refresh the original hot.

It's not so much that they can't code it but rather it could be a technical limitation. What you're proposing is essentially performing two abilities (which may have separate IDs within their data type as all abilities have) that are executed together and play off one another. While it may be easy to code, it may not play well with the system they currently have set up. The way abilities work in this game don't really deviate from one another so something like this could cause issues.

If technical limitations aren't the case, I wouldn't mind if they added this solution.

They might nerf the bubbles potency if AST can heal during it though.

Yeah, the only thing that bugs me is the waiting for server tick for the regen buff. I can't cast it on the fly and get both. BUT! It is by FAR my favorite spell. It's just aesthetically pleasing, and it genuinely feels good to use it. When casting, I'll keep it up as long as possible because... hnnnngh I feel like an unstoppable force when using it. xD

I just want the bubble to be slightly (very slightly, maybe 10%) larger and apply faster >:l It's quite strong but doesn't see much use in my runs because the tank is always going ham on the enemies (as he should be doing).
