Vindictive former FC leader manipulated her way back to kick all active members

Long story here so may have to enter it in parts... So the old leader of my FC on Lamia was voted out of her position back when 3.3 hit for being inactive, abusing her power to demote/kick members who angered/disagreed with her, and not to mention stealing all the FC gil for herself that was saved for a mansion when new housing was added... Luckily one of the other players was in a relationship with her (if i can call it that, they never met or even had video chats) convinced her to return the gil, then step down and give him leadership until people felt good about her returning and/or forgave her.

Now in 3.35... The FC had their mansion, a couple airships, and things were going fine.. The old leader hadn't been playing much since she stepped down, and the rest of us weren't giving her a second thought.. as per usual. But clearly she wasn't satisfied with the way things were. She and the new leader had been planning a trip to meet each other, however she never kept her end of the bargain and this angered the new leader.. So she took using the trip as a chance to manipulate him into giving her leadership back for her to buy a ticket to go out and meet him.. He fell for this, and she immediately kicked out all of the active members who primarily funded the mansion and the airships (she barely donated a mil over 2 years), and effectively ran the FC in her absence for months. And now we're left with nothing..

TL/DR... A bunch of players just got screwed over by a vindictive FC leader and I'd like things like this to stop.

I'm not asking for pity, I just want something to be done to protect players from unfair circumstances like this... I think this falls under section 3.2 of the FFIXV User agreement of prohibited activities of disrupting the experience of other players... since she disrupted everyone in that FC of their fun and progress they've been making/already made.. even if that's not technically what SE was getting at in section 3.2...

Since when has this been a thing in game? You guys sound like the ones in the wrong. If you don't like an fc leader's rules you're welcome to leave but nothing in game supports this kind of mutiny. If the game removed their status for # of days inactive that's fine, but you go on to make it sound like FC's are some kind of democracy, which they aren't. Anything you decide to do along the lines of "voting" carries no weight. Maybe your vote convinced her to step down and someone later told her that was bs (which it is).

Again, they'd have grounds to report you for taking over their fc and disrupting their experience. Not the other way around. If they read this, they should really report you. And looks like they're getting a fresh start on their fc.

edit: even in the worst case scenario of them losing leadership due to absence and the way the game controls that, if they got back to fc leader they did it through the game rules which still means you have no case, and considering I found their name through 2 clicks because you named the fc you're breaking a 2nd big no-no here as well.

I guess I wasn't specific enough with the details as you seem to have the wrong impression.... There was no ill intent on the part of the FC members to have her step down. We felt she misrepresented herself in that what we thought we were joining a friendly casual/social FC among people who would treat each other fairly and equally (LIKE A DEMOCRACY), not be lulled into a false sense of security only to be controlled/abused later on... Our only intent was to keep the FC and all that the member's had accomplished whole.

She was an alright leader for quite some time (apart from the fact she didn't contribute towards the progress of the FC whatsoever herself). Only since she became inactive for the last half a year or so, in which she may have logged in 3-5 times a month did people start to feel a change was needed.

The FC was carrying on without her presence yet her being in the sole position of power became a hindrance to the productivity/growth of the FC... When members asked for promotions/new rank settings or to have a leadership change for the FCs sake she took that as a slight against her and that made her angry.. so eventually dissent started between the members and her... Over time some longtime members got kicked out for voicing opinions she didn't like, she took away privileges of higher ranking FC members simply as a show of power, and she took the FC gil for herself right before new housing came out (70+ mil). Not to mention she became rude and verbally abusive towards the members of the FC as well... So in a nutshell she was abusing her position, the FC member's trust, and essentially holding hostage all the FC members contributions/efforts that they worked towards. How else do you expect rational people to react to that?

In reponse to your "IF you don't like it, leave" comment... not a direct quote i know... As a whole the FC was happy with each other, aside from her leadership. We didn't want to lose all the time/effort we put into it or to start again from scratch by leaving... So the other leader (her online bf) finally convinced her to step down as per the FC's wishes.. and things seemed to calm down and go back to normal. We forgave her for everything and she was allowed a higher ranked position in the FC with most of her privileges.. but that wasn't enough for her.. she had to control everything and everyone and then now all of this happened.

I understand that FCs themselves are the leader's property, but the members aren't.. People don't deserve that sort of treatment, and I feel protective measures should be in place for when the members get swindled in such ways as this... you can just do an internet search for all kinds of FC horror stories and here I am posting mine. Agree or disagree with how I feel about this but in my opinion it's not right

Ok you guys manage to get rid of her for the reason you listed above. But why on Earth did the former leader invited her back in and let her become leader again with power to kick everyone, how else do you think this will went down?

There is nothing the game can do since the former leader did give her back leader or invite her back with the power to kick and demote people. So this was the previous leader own decision letting her talk sweet into giving her back leadership.

If you don't like how the FC is run, you can just leave and have everyone join the new FC too. That's how game are, just move a long. Sure you will have to work everything again, but its better then create more drama about it and ask the game to do something about it. GM never step in people business or drama.

The least you can do maybe is to convince gave back the gil so you can buy a house again and start fresh.

I mean, the obvious thing to do is start another FC with all the actives that were kicked, no? It will not take long to level up if you were a contributing FC, right? It sucks to start over and all that... but what else are you going to do? Cap Lore and scrips for the week and chill in Iddy? At least you have a solid reason for doing more things in game than glamor and capping items for the week.

Well as an FC leader myself for almost 3 years now in this game, she acted quite selfish and wrong. Yes that might have been her own FC but she wasn't on her own. She's not with several npcs where she could do whatever, you're dealing with people here. So in my opinion, a very irresponsible person that wasn't really cut to lead a fc, since it sounds like she was led by her emotions and they got the best of her. That doesn't mean I'm free of emotions either but when it comes to deciding stuff, I'm always acting to what's best for everyone, even if it sells myself or someone else short.

Although it's partially OP's fault too though for not acting faster. You knew your FC leader's issues and personality, even though someone else had the leadership for a while. The ties weren't cut clearly enough to prevent her getting to her original position again. My fc had a few separations where a group within the fc formed and suddenly felt like they want to do their own thing, especially if you're not always in agreement with the fc leader's views and morales. It's only natural to start your own fc then within that little group, having your own FC with your own friends etc is always a great experience everyone should try out at least!

It would be really hard for the developer to regulate rules and actionable responses to bad FC leaders. Unfortunately you meet some bad eggs in video games, workplace, neighborhood, everywhere. As others stated the best thing to do is move on. It sucks, your money is gone, and it doesn't feel good, but that is about the only logical option.

I don't get this part. Even if she had changed and became a great leader how would that have helped her meet up IRL with someone?

The way I read it was that the "selfish" leader said she would finally pay for the ticket to meet the "boyfriend" leader if he upgraded her to full power in the fc. I assume this means meet in the real world and not in the beautiful land of Eorzea.

This might not have even been what happened - it is only one side of the story.

What guys (or girls) will do for a chance at a hookup knows no bounds. The dude was probably thinking with his hormones, and not common sense. For all we know, she strung him along, giving him hope (however false) that something in terms of a relationship (or booty call) would develop.

Why are you in this FC?

I can't believe that she scammed her way back into leadership in the first place. That doesn't even make sense.... but it happened, so...

It sounds like you guys are better off forming a new FC on your own. Take this as a lesson and learn from it. Unfortunately for you guys, I don't think SE can do anything about your situation. It's not like that one woman on Balmung who made it impossible for her guild mates to leave unless they paid her money. Count yourself lucky that being kicked was all that happened.

Also a FC leader here, and while her actions are rather childish, finger should be pointed at the one that re-invited said problematic person back into the FC, if at all she could have just been brought back but with Zero rights, basically set back as a new member.
Sounds like the FC lacks structure also.
I would just start my own FC with those kicked out if I were you

As an example my FC has one Golden rule, 0 Drama. It maybe a bit harsh but each FC is different. I found my self in several FC's before I started my own and realize most FC's will use you. Harsh reality. I established my own FC, Maxed out airships and such. I recently open my doors so that people don't feel being used and made my golden rule strict but fair. I don't ask for funds and people are free to contribute. Based on their contributions they are allowed access to airships, gardens, ect. So far it has worked great for me and I'm in better standing than any FC I've been in. If your ever in Balmung feel free to drop by Plot 32, 1 Ward, Mist (Large). I keep doors open and I'm not trying to recruit but at least you have an option.

Now then with that being said, If you really think about it, a leader was demoted, is dating the current one and you guys were kind enough to let them stay?...you guys should of seen this coming. Would of been best to look for an FC with 0 tolerance for Drama, or sell of the FC , split the gill, and disband. If you enjoy joking around is one thing, trash talking is another, make a LS for your own outside of an FC. If you guys are looking for a place to belong follow those who lead and fair or let poor leaders ruin the game for you.
