Repurposing Yo-kai medals

So, like many others, I have been grinding away at getting my weapons, but have been flooded with Yo-kai medals that, once you have the minions, are completely useless.

I know the even will be around for a while, so I am hoping SE would consider adding a small trade in system such as 20or 30 normal medals for one legendary. this seems like a fair trade off, and means I am not getting flooded with useless items.

Trade for legendary is the best, if not, at least let us trade for some MGP! ^^;

Or just take off the watch so you dont get flooded with them. Only need the minion out to get legenday medals

Exactly :p noticed that yesterday after switching class and got 4 fates no normal medal until realised my "error"

Yeah, they should at least allow us to trade the Yokai Medals for Legendary ones. Something like the mount farm token which helps ease up the RNG Grind a little.

Yeah I had this thought too. I've got 50 medals I have no use for. It would be nice to alleviate a bit of the grind. I feel like 25 medals - 1 legendary medal would be a good ratio.

People seems to forget what there are 2 grind
The medal and legendary medal
Once you have all ypkai medal just take off the watch

The watch IS NOT REQUIRED to have legendary
You only need the minion out

Now stop whining about useless thing like "i made a mistake this need to be changed"

It's not a mistake. You don't do any extra work and you can just discard the medals. NA largely dislikes FATE grinding, so the "complaining" was to be expected. Personally I don't think it would be any different than exchanging seasonal tokens for furniture. Is alleviating a bit of the grind such a bad thing?

all i'de like is they put those medals in the quest bag instead of the regular T.T

While I didn't know I could get legendaries without the watch, my post wasn't really whiny... I merely stated that the medals are useless once you have to minions and I feel they could have made them more useful by allowing people to trade a larger amount for a single legendary. This not only helps those that want the weapons but aren't able to be on as much as others due to life commitments, but also encourages others to continue fate farming if they know they can get a guaranteed medal every X fates.

If you chose to read my post as a whinge fest then that's your hang up, not mine ;)

I'm not going to take my watch off, I'll keep it on in case they add something later that you can use them for, be it elemental shards, MGP, or legendarys. If they don't, then no harm done. I'll just delete them after the campaign is over.

I too had no idea the watch does not to be worn to get Legendaries

Count me third on that. The RNG can be really unforgiving at times and people can have a bad loooooooooong streak of no medal and allowing us to turn in x medals for 1 legendary would help people having bad luck and low drop rates.

My first weapon took between 40 to 45 fates to get 7. And my luck changed for the second as I currently have 6 from 9 to 12 fates. The solution won't make everyone happy but it would help in making it feel a little less grindy.

I support this 1000%.

Sorry you took the heat, but i was pretty fed up by all the other whiny topic about how the game disappointed some tight minded people XD

As far as i like the idea about trading normal medal into legendary
I feel that I Would kill the purpose of big farming achievement
Which is something japan like and hopefuly FF14 is in this direction (to oppose an American mmo build for non grind American mind)

It's true that rng and life doesn't help collecting weapons
But due to the size of farming group now it's fairly easy to farm them :D

I was sooo caught up in the event when It came out, that I end up Downing A5S with my yokai watch
and everyone including me were wondering why my dps was lower than usual

That is the issue with RNG, especially if its not a climbing RNG of any kind (as in the % to drop raises as you fail to obtain) cus just like with atma you could farm all day and get nothing yet 1 person get all 3 back to back in 5minutes. I admit I havn't had time to farm medals, think total I've spent 2 hours and only got 1 weapon and 7 more toward the 2nd weapon. So the idea of turning in a good amount of medals for 1 legendary seems very fair if we are putting hours into it.

Hello, everyone!

Just wanted to share that we have no plans to make use of the regular Yo-kai Medals aside from obtaining the Yo-kai minions, so if you have already collected all the minions, you can feel free drop these medals.
However, since these are rare items, if you wish to keep them to commemorate the event, then you can store them on your retainer. :)

Which is how he probably read it as anyway. I don't think all the community reps are up to date on current issues unless it gets passed to them directly.

If there isn't plans to increase the drop rate towards the tail end of the event, I'll be surprised. Because I remember the Little Ladies Day last year where not all servers had the manpower to turn in enough dolls, so in the last week it was flagged to 100% complete to unlock the final quest.

I really hope that the person who asked Yoshi-P to make this event tedious never interferes with this game ever again. He's making honest players suffer for just his own marketing purposes.

It was the creator of Yokai Watch, I believe, that asked Yoshi-P to make it "difficult" to get all the weapons.

Good idea, if you want people to play your game, make them hate the brand.

In addition to the Yo-Kai Watch themed weapons, there will also be Yo-Kai Watch minions to collect!

You'll be able to earn all of the minions somewhat easily, but the weapons will be tough to get.

I read it as 'If you feel nostalgic towards the event, keep them!' ...Since I still have the elemental Easter eggs, its completely understandable; if only for flavour.

Perhaps the items that are useless after the event should expire... or have a decent sellback value (500gil?) Then people wont get all salty over inventory when the topic is a limited event.

Event items usually end up in the cash shop a year later. Look at the current items of the cash shop. They will most likely end up there.

Look what it says at the bottom...I mean, I guess it just says the quest can't be completed after..but it doesn't say "you can never buy them in the mogstation" lol I'd be livid and realize nothing is sacred but my damn dalamud horn.

They have the old swimsuits, the old xmas outfits, the old halloween outfits, the old valentines outfits, the lightning event items, etc in the shop. I don't see any reason these won't end up there eventually.

The only issue or difference I would assume is that seeing as we completed and got the achievement (something those who buy will not get). We can pay a small fee to rebuy the weapons from the same NPC who resells other event items/weapons where as if they decide to toss the weapon they have to rebuy in the mogshop.

10,000 medals for a 1.0 tatoo.

So does the Calamity Savager and his new partner. But only if you have the respective achievement (and even then I think they are willing to make an exception for these weapons)

It should be worth noting that unlike XI, XIII or Dragon Quest, this is an IP Square does not own. Even if Yoshi and Hino were all for it, they still have to get the legal OK for something like this to happen, which usually means contracts and licensing. SE can afford to sell the XIII weapons indefinitely because they have the IP, The same may not be true for this IP. (Also note that the XIII weapons were there due to fan demand, the OTHER crossover items; the Shantotto and DQ!Golem minions, still aren't at the MogStation)

Those old event items were all very easy to get though. It was just a simple case of doing a short quest and maybe a couple of FATEs.

Given the time investment required to get all of the weapons and second mount from this event, having them later be sold on the cash shop would be equivalent to them selling a relic weapon on there. The people that actually put the time in would be livid.

The simple fact that they decided to include 2 versions of the same mount speaks a ton. Most likely, the minions, weapons, and minion mount will make their way into the mogstation a year from now, but the weapon mount will remain exclusive to the event.

I agree with this. It seems to me given there are two types of the same mount, one may well end up in the mogstation later which I do not have a problem with. I am not quite so in agreement with the suggestion that the minions and weapons will end up in the mogstation though, that just doesn't seem 'as' likely to me personally. The minions might be more likely than the weapons though. I do not think that the weapons will end up in the mogstation but I accept that I could be wrong on that.

The weapons seem unlikely to me due to how extremely time consuming they are to get during the event. One of the mounts I think will. The minions probably will. But to me the weapons are unlikely...then again I suppose I might be looking at it the wrong way in the sense of I am thinking about how long takes to acquire them all rather than just one. So I could be wrong and they also might end up in mogstation I guess...either way I am not to bothered if they do as I plan on getting them all in game during the event anyways.
