Theres plenty more on the list.
I have seen them teleport around and glitch out and moving in groups, theres so many it makes me feel like I am playing a F2P MMO.
It never used to be like this.

It has actually always been like this, at least on some servers. They will stand at Northern Thanalan in groups of 4 and teleport away in parties. SE are aware though, the best thing you can do is report them, although they definitely need an easier report system for the amount of bots there currently is.
surprised that bots are now archers instead of thm
It's SO hard to implement a right click, report, botting.... >.>
I checked and the popularity is:
Arch, THM, to a much lesser degree PUG.
In one pic here you can see the demographics of new characters 1-5. 80% are bots! shocking. http://imgur.com/a/gorgG
Funny I am seeing the same on Tonberry. LV35-45 BLMs in duty finder with keymash names.
Stop buying gil from RMT services then.
We have a ton of new leafs on Siren and they're not bots.
I always see them in Ul'dah with their BLM trio. I think occasionally I can see the person controlling them, because there's sometimes a random new player with the standard Hyuran look targetting them.
I am one of those new leafs. :)
I haven't run across any of these bots on Siren, but I can understand why Square Enix is hesitant to go after them. It is hard to regulate, not a lot of return value if they get rid of then, and they are there because of the market for illegal money (so the real players are causing this issue). Do they cause issues other than perhaps making waits longer? I guess it would stink to get grouped with them in a duty finder now that I think about it.
Quarrymill on Cerberus this morning. A horde of them appeared right in front of the NPC that allows you to enter the Palace of the Dead.
Funny thing, there were over hundreds seeming to defy gravity itself and jump in a huge distance right in the middle of the NPCs themselves which suggest they do the Main Story Quests.
This caused Sprouts and other Players asking if this is "Common" in this Game...
Reporting them might be a thing ... let alone Reporting one, due of their awful Name Combinations....
Its not against forum policy to list names or have screenshots showing names? Even if they may be rmt...
Not really sure what you are expecting in making this thread.... are you just making an observation? Are you expecting SE to do something about it? What exactly CAN they do that wouldn't also hurt actual real new players who are also among those, even if a small percentage?
Next time I make an alt, I'm going as a THM and gonna let my cat walk across the keyboard for the name.
On topic, they've been around forever. This is not new.
My blacklist has been at 200/200 for months and I can't remember the last time a (deleted) showed up.
Can concur, it's always been like this. They simmer down sometimes, but they're always there lurking.
Never used to be like this? I remember groups of em favored a camp in La Noscea back in 1.xx, ohhh the lag!
Because that would free up said Cat-On-Keyboard name again to be used. Slowly locking up names may be the slowest way to combat RMT, but ultimately there are only so many millions of combinations of letters they can mash to get names. Also, the banned characters/accounts may not be deleted for archival sake to track other account data not readily available to us which SE uses to help it fight the War on Drug-I mean RMT.
ah so finally learned about JOB , instead of being THM forever
SE needs to start doing something , but like FFXI they are probably overun by bots and by the time they do something is too little to late
but why there are gil selleres ? because there are gil buyers , and why there are gil buyers ? outside glamour items (pets included), and consumables...or maybe leveling DOH/DOH there is little need to have millions of gil
I actually agree with OP, there really is a vast increase in bots and yes they are now archers, lol
The problem is the lazy players that insist on buying from these jerks
The only solution is to do what WoW did and allow players to pay sub time with Gil, this legalizes gold buying while giving the money to the devs.
Seen them in Uldah hanging at the aether. Wearing the same gear and white pointed staff. Normally around the late hours around 2am to 6am on saragatanas
Broken down to its essentials it does 3 things:
1) Its main thing, people who would otherwise buy Gil from RMT farmers instead are buying tokens from the Mog Station, along with honest players.
2) It redistributes Gil a little, eg rich players buy the tokens from the MB giving poor players Gil. This improves the economy greatly.
3) Allows more poeple to play: a) People who dont have time to farm for Gil and mats, b) People who dont want to pay a monthly sub.
Its win win for players and devs and a kick in the teeth to RMT.
