Randomized BGM, Deep Dungeon Style - An SE pls thread.

Hi there. I don't post on the forums often, so I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put it, but what if we had a "Random BGM" function. As it stands now, when you zone into certain floors of PotD, the BGM can be either standard dungeon BGM, or something from the Binding Coil of Bahamut.

What if we applied this function to all the music in the game, as a toggleable option? You zone into Ifrit, and suddenly you heard Under the Weight playing. Brute Justice just finished using transform? Here's the Lost City of Amdapor's theme to get your blood pumping. But then you zone into the Lost City of Amdapor, and you hear Tears for Mor Dhona playing.

No thanks. I get annoyed when certain music plays in palace because it just doesn't fit.

Under the Weight, for example, when I listen to it outside Titan (I have the soundtrack) I still anticipate the bombs and landslides when they would come up...definitely something that would screw with me if it played in, say, T13 (Answers is another song that does that. T13 tank progression :/)

Sure, it's nice to hear some music there (had Breaking Boundaries play the one time, that was nice to hear again in game), but Palace also isn't mechanics heavy, and you can lose yourself in the music a bit without issues

I think if they kept it with only that would fit that location, sure.
Also, remove Riptide (Sastasha Hard's Theme) from all the list (and maybe even Sastasha Hard). :-D

Yes, for me it just destroys the immersion and identity of Palace of Dead.
Let the music Palace of the Dead Theme for Palace of the Dead, and remove the other (or at least, put an option to do this. One new theme every 5 levels).

I like the randomized nature of the music in PotD, but I will agree that there are a handful of selections that feel very much out of place (I'm looking at you, Hullbreaker >.>).

I like the randomized music, though OPs suggestions would be great for those times when I'm stuck listening to one song over and over and need a change, like in trials or raids. Why hasn't this been considered when orchestrion was brought in?

I had Sashtasha music once...I was complaining the whole 3 levels lol. And then it changed to Spiral (BCoB battle BGM) and while it was nice for the first 20 seconds...it was so out of place it wasn't funny (speaking of Coil Music...I HATE when Calamity Unbound plays with Treasure Goblins in Aquapolis. Its BOSS music dang it, not crystal-dropping trash)

I think those songs match 11-20's and 21-30's cavern look.

I love the randomized music, but what I love more is... NO COMBAT MUSIC. Would be nice to see that as an option extended to the rest of the game...

... except for the one floor that was nothing but the combat music. I almost screamed, and we plowed through that level as quickly as possible to get away from that stuff. I am so sick and tired of hearing the dang combat music.

Perhaps they should throw in bonus boss secret rooms, where the music that gets chosen hints at what the current floor bonus boss is.

I don't know about randomized music in dungeons/trials, but making the Orchestrion have randomized music/ shuffle option would be nice. Ex: rather than it looping like it currently does, if you put the "shuffle" option on then it'll change music once every once in awhile. Like what we have in modern music players.

Probably because programs like iTunes, Spotify and Windows Media Player still need a purpose.

That's why it'd be an optional feature. Something you can toggle in your settings. If you don't like it, toggle it off! I recognize not everyone would want this feature.

I thought the random BGM in Deep Dungeon was jarring, it just suddenly changed. I would've preferred one single BGM over the top of it, maybe a new one? Like how the other new dungeons got a new track? :/

I believe when you start a new Palace (floors 1-3) it plays its unique BGM.

Music changes every 3 floors with like 3ish new unique PoTD musics, a fourth for the final boss of 50, & one dungeon theme sounds SOOO cool & creepy I wish I had it for the Orchestration thing <.<, actually I just wish I knew what it was called ;(
