I'd like to see the older skills reworked visually.

With all the talk and speculation about 4.0 and ability bloat and all that the one thing that I'd like to see more then new abilities is giving a visual overhaul to the older ones. When you look at the new abilities we gained in 3.0 they look spectacular, for the most part. Then you use your old 2.0 abilities and they simply pale in comparison. Compare all of a BLM's Fire spells to Fire IV. They just don't measure up. Look at how simple and plain a PLD's Fast Blade and Savage Blade look. I'd love to see all 2.0 abilities given a new, flashier makeover that makes them fun to use and see again. I'd be 100% fine not getting any new skills in 4.0, if this were the case. Regardless it is or not I'd still like for this to happen.

They could rework the animations on DRK and MCH.

They could upgrade our old skill into new ones in 4.0 and save us from skill bar walls and complex gamepad cycles. Instead of adding and adding new skills in every expansion they could give us new skills which replace our old with newer animations and dmg etc.

I actually prefer PLD's Rage of Halone to either of their new finishers. Ditto for NIN—Armor Crush is visually uninspiring compared to their earlier skills. This is going to be one of those things that would be tricky to do, since everyone's tastes are different.

Mch- Their left arm on their second shot looks really awkward along with how they hold their left arm for their pose.

Pld- I really want a change to their dps combo, savage blade -> royal authority looks a little awkward since it's a spinning slash in to another spinning slash.

Drk- I don't mind the animations so much, just their stance. Can't stand it.

Smn- Ruin 1/2 is really underwhelming.

Yes yes add even more flashing and stuff, because we can still see out characters during a fight!
This is a disgrace, we can see our characters thru all the effect, obv everyone wants to have so mych flashing and stuff that we cant see our characters thru the ENTIRE fight!
We don't need to see our characters or the floor, Just flashing....

But but....I love the DRK animations! D: it what drew me into the job! D: And I love the stance too! D: T^T

MCH does look a little dull. Like they kinda are just....there. With their gun. I don't play MCH but the animations aren't entirely eye catching.

I wouldn't mind if SE wanted to make some of bard's old moves a little more flashy. :3 I do wish when we shot arrows our bow didn't look like it was flailing everywhere. Looks awkward some times.

I'd love it if BLM Thunder (at least the thunder procs) looks like actual lightning instead of some purple ball. Something like NIN raiton or ADS low voltage would be nice.

Nothing will beat the 1.0 animations ;)

Ugh. Ninja skills.

Now that I've managed to progress into heavensward with my character that I'm playing ninja on...

Armor Crush and its animation should have ben the one to give the slashing debuff.
Aeolian Edge and its animation should be the one to refresh Huton.
Dancing edge and its animatino should be the basic damage one...

It's just so wrong as it is now...

I don't think the levels at which the skills that give said bonuses should change, just the names and animations.

As someone playing NIN currently I agree. Armor Crush is super boring compared to all the flippy stuff their other moves do.

Definitely agree with Myahele on Thunder. Should be an actual Bolt not a little sparky ball.

Personally, I would love to see jobs get seperate animations from classes altogether.. take your jobs soul stone off, and your still doing the same animations nothing unique lol Oh! And while we are on the topic of animations, I would like to throw in Level 1 and Level 2 Limit Break animations.. Dev's gave every job there own Level 3, so why not go all the way with it

I can agree with reworking or changing older skills. Even new traits instead for the classes that make us stronger without having to change what we do. I am all for maybe a new skill or 2 but assuming the level limit is raised to 70, I don't know if I could handle 5 more skills on any of my classes assuming they repeated it per 2 levels.

I turn off other player effects for this very reason... my own are flashy enough
