Make your non-flying mount fly!

In a perfect world, all of our mounts would be capable of flight. Even some available right now can fly "because reasons" (I'm looking at you, Adamantoise. Don't give me that "he's an expensive MGP reward excuse.).

So let's take a look at various mounts and ways they could fly! Who knows, maybe SE will see this thread and be like "dat's a clevr therad"

Unicorns

Unicorns are well known for being creatures with magical powers. I'm sure they can learn a levitation spell!

Gobbues

The obvious answer is flatulence.

Slepnir

Slepnir do what he want. He don't care.

Behemoth

Jumps onto a Meteor.

I'm drawing a blank on beast tribe mounts. Anyone got a suggestion?

I find most of the EX ponies kinda tacky, since they're too flashy. The unicorn is perfect, as it should be. I would feel like the ultimate cat princess if I could fly with it (oh if I just had hyur and elezen saddle pose </3). Please SE! ;w;

Make yourself fly. Problem solved. No need for a mount ever again.

For the beast tribe mounts how about Amal'ja drake grows dragon wings, the Ixali wolf gets a war balloon harness, the Sahagin Ebst .... maybe make it swim through the air kinda like Leviathan does?

Unpopular opinion: not all mounts need to fly

One word: Jet packs!

Lore: The allagans got tired of using stairs to climb the crystal tower and not having the proper technology to develop elevators invented the jet pack instead.

Oh, no. As much as I can see this entering into FFXIV world, I already have to see people wearing bikinis in raids and dungeons, when I did coil a fc mate was wearing the maid dress and every cutscene was just so.... strange... I wouldn't like to see someone with a jetpack flying.

Never really said they did. I suppose I'm just irritated at what they did for Adamantoise and Fenrir and decided to have a little fun coming up with ideas. Sure, I started off with "in a perfect world..." but I always like having stupid openings in my fun threads.

Yea they crossed that line when they paid the turtle fly.

I'm more worried about the "everything has to fly" people come 4.0 when we will have swimming mounts. Then all of a sudden you'll be seeing "Pegasus needs to be able to swim!" and "Fenrir can fly, why can't it swim?"

They are all gonna have a mental breakdown and I'm gonna enjoy my popcorn.

To be fair if Fenrir "swam" by freezing the water underneath its feet and running across it... that'd be neat.
But yeah I'm with you....rather not have any of them do anything like that -_-

It's gonna happen anyway cause everyone will use the "why not" excuse or the "lol cause fantasy" card.

I was thinking more of them using their whiskers as propellers. ;p
Would make for a mount almost as entertaining as Adamantoise.

Goobue- Flower helicopter on the head.

Wolf/Serpent/Coeurl- Tail helicopter

Behemoth- Jet pack

Aren't they gonna make the 3 Tank mounts be able to fly?

Forget animations and just make everything fly in a T-figure.
