A Idea for a Challenge

I had an interesting idea for a feature that I think a good amount of the player base might undertake.

How about a feature where you challenge every single Extreme Primal fight back to back in order of implementation: Starting from Garuda Ex to Nidhogg Ex (or the most recent Ex primal released in future patches )

Now here's the kick!

1.) You have to beat them all at their recommended level/ilvl cap

2.) Your party cannot wipe! If you do, you start all the way back to Garuda EX

3.) Have a reward system where after clearing three primals or so you have the option of stopping with a fixed reward that gradually increases after each set. However, if your party dies, you lose the rewards you've earned and have to start over.
-Players that complete the challenge gets Max rewards! (Maybe a nice Weapon or perhaps half or all of you tombs for the week?)


4.) Once Challenge is complete, you can't do it again until the weekly reset.
-Perhaps lockout also applies should you choose to abandon the challenge at anytime.

.5) Can only enter Challenge with players on the server, at least until a cross server Party Finder is Implemented

Since one of the roles of being a Warrior of Light is keeping the Primal Threat under control; what better way to do that then Killing them all in succession?

What do you all think?

every copypaste content is a good idea, because it takes almost no time to implement it. so your idea is a good idea ^^

almost nobody will beat that challange, but that is okay, because it hurts nobody to implement it and it's a nice challange for the few top raiders.

what if you completed all of the 2.x primals you earn a 1up (one free wipe)? Might come in handy for those lvl 60 fights.

and the point is? Back in 2.x we had that already, to that time at least i could make plenty of money since you needed the prior Xprimals to even proceed. Most ppl wanted the weekly token for the weapon, but nowadays there's no reason to even put this system back in place. Raiders not gonna bother with some easy primals and casuals will cry a river on the forums about it.

That would make sense, but if you wipe at Bismarck EX, you should restart at Bismarck EX, not Garuda EX.

Capping tomestones for extremely difficult content? That's a crap reward. If anything, a mount, minion and a piece of glamour, altogether would be worth it and 'to-scale'.

Lockout? For attempting the content and not being able to do it? What is this? A levequest? There's no reason to penalize people for attempting content, Alexander Savage doesn't do it so why should this?

Well that's usually the case with this type of content. You need a full party for Nid Ex/Alex Raids and can't DF them (with the exception of Raid Finder).

I thought canonically, we got rid of them in the extreme modes? What would we get in return for defeating them at iLv sync? We've got music, crafting mats (minions, essentially) and weapons. What could we get that ISN'T glamour? Also, if we're beating all of them for one piece of loot, it better be something worthwhile, if we beat them one by one but in a gauntlet and there's loot inbetween, then I can see the rewards being of a smaller grade but I'd prefer them to be entirely new things because if I'm doing this just to get the same content/reward, I'm not gonna bother.

The amount of spam from people trying to sell weekly clears for all EX primals is going to be worse than the gil spam ...

That's what makes it a challenge. Granted the 3.X primals may warrant a second chance, but I think more players would be on guard if they had to start back to square one

If you think of it this way, Players who are sick of doing the roulettes/same 2 dungeons will have a lot more variety to their tomb farming and it will keep it relevant for years to come should we continue on with the token system. once you got the rewards, no one would do them again and it would go the way of the Quest: Primal Focus.

Because, should there be rewards, players wont abuse it. First, you don't get penalized if you failed; you'd just have to start over. The lockout would only take place if you beat it or were satisfied with the reward you've earned. With raids, if I'm not mistaken, once a player gets the reward and reattempts with a fresh group, the reward for that group gets reduced. The point of my suggestion is to get the best reward, and I doubt players would want that person in their group.

Just really specified this as a formality. If I said Duty Finder, then everyone would jump in and say they shouldn't have to start over because the DF paired them with a bad player, or complain about people leaving after the first few wipes.

Beast tribes are constantly summoning their primals. With the exception of a few, the reason why we had ex primals was because beast tribes resummoned them with a large amount of crystals. Again, it's supposed to be a challenge. without the Sync, +60 players would just zerg through the 2.x primals. And with any content there always has to be a fair reward; that's why you had ppl who didn't do savage coil. I recommended full/half tomb cap because it's something everyone needs and you don't have to drag it out doing the daily roulette or spamming the same dungeon over and over.

It shouldn't be locked in PF.

We never had this. What we did have was the Primal weapon quest for Garuda, Titan and Ifrit Ex. After beating one fight you could do the next on at your leaisure. What I'm recommending is that once you clear one fight you immediately jump into the next until every single one has been defeated and you can't back out.

I think this is something Raiders and Casuals could both enjoy and I see a lot off ppl who are in the middle doing this as well.

Player base might have to mature a little first lol. If it was Duty finder you'd have a lot of players raging at players who keep dying and you'd have players that would keep abandoning after first couple wipe/restarts.

Sorry if I sound cynical here but...what "casual" player would enjoy this? Casual players are casual for a number of reasons, but the biggest one is time commitment. Casual players don't have the time to practice adequately for an EX Primal boss rush that has be repeated in its entirety should one person mess it up. Heck, many casual players might not have time to do the entire boss rush. Keep in mind there are currently 10 Extreme Primals currently. To just run through all 10 bosses it will take a good amount of time. Many "casual" players struggle with doing one EX primal, let alone a ton of them. This is clearly hardcore content. That's not a terrible thing necessarily, but understand it won't have casual appeal.

That said, a "Boss Rush" mode could be really fun. I think a "Primal Rush" has a ton of merit, especially if you had a "Normal" mode for casuals and an "Extreme" for more skilled players. Give it some excuse like "The Wandering Minstrel is trying to tell the stories really quickly!" and put it in a boss rush. Stick in a unique mount for Extreme and Normal versions, and you'd have pretty solid, fun content that some might enjoy. I would personally remove the "Wipe and you have to re-do everything from the beginning" part. I don't really see what it adds to the experience, aside from extreme frustration when Bob messes up mechanic X and screws over everyone. I'd say just let them try as many times as they like, and just make the reward more for bragging rights then useful. The rewards:effort ratio is going to be really, really tricky with this sort of content.

In my experience this issue occurs far less in PF then in DF.

Why not just have a Extreme version of Harmachis from the Aetherochemical Research Facility.
Boss has 300% HP of current highest EX Primal. Have him change form to some random primal, do a random mechanic, change form again and do another primal mechanic until he is dead.

Sounds more fun since you have to react fast.

If SE feels like it they can make a coil version of him too.
Oh and a Alex Midas/Gordias normal mode version so normal folks have some fun too.
