i want them and i don't :( it be cool being on a drake but then again i don't want to see drake within town if they can do that then i'm fine i dislike mount within town.

I personally don't want to ride any of them (girly girl here; I'll stick to my chocobo^^), but I think they are great if they are for Beastmaster. I think it's a bit less exciting if they are for personal mounts though.

The "It's not traditional FF!" excuse doesn't really hold much weight either anymore. FF is not a series that strictly sticks to only tradition and nothing else. There are new features or new takes on old features with every iteration, the series wouldn't be able to last long without doing so. Especially for an MMO, this game needs to branch out and do everything it can to keep people interested.

If the monster is big enough for me to throw a saddle on and ride, outside of lore reasons (like NMs or Primals), I don't see why we shouldn't be able to. I mean a drake is big enough to ride and any race of character can fit on it, so it only makes sense for us to make use of it as a mount. Hell they could even make a quest out of it since it may not be a company issued mount. The concept actually fits a little better into FFXIV's lore than anything since Ishgard's keeping their monopoly on Chocobos. In light of that, adventurers should be free to get creative.

Also it seems like they're mostly done with actually creating the feature so I'd say get used to it because it's coming either way.

Yeah, I don't understand polling people for stuff that's been announced. If you don't like the mounts, ride the chocobo. I don't see what the big deal is.

Personally, unless the mount flies or is faster than the chocobo, there's little chance that I'd opt to get one if I have to do the amount of things it's taking to get my personal chocobo.

No, I think mounts should be special not just random mobs. Perhaps an altered version of the mob (not just color swap).

Ew generally denotes a form of disgust which is generally a negative thing. You don't say "ew" to something you like or enjoy.

Take bloody movies for instance, I may say "ew" but I really enjoy all the blood and guts and stuff.

Because that's psychology. It doesn't take much effort to f*ck with results; if you point out that someone is asian before they take a math test, they actually DO BETTER on it. POP COP DROP TOP BOP Come to a green light aaaaaand!?

I'm mostly just being annoying (hence the joking MOOOSE HISSSSS) but at the same time, it's true. Those two little letters can trigger people to form instinctive thoughts and vote differently. Questions on legit surveys have to be WORDED specifically to avoid it, nevermind the avoidance of little triggers like that.

Personally, I'd like to keep the other mounts besides chocobos out of final fantasy. Chocobos have been the beast of burden since final fantasy time immemorial outside of the shoopuf, and even in that game chocobos were still the primary means of animal transport.

Agreed and despite this troll bait, i voted in favor of different mounts!

I hope they had a rainbow c*(K pop drake just to make people mad. I hope they add mouse mount that looks ridiculous. I hope they add a plaid chocobo. Whatever will make these mount nazi's mad will be utterly hilarious.

Is there really a point to voting when we know we're getting them?

If it's reward for players who stay, give the mount just to beastmaster wouldn't be right, cause why u have to be a beastmaster if u dont want to?
I think the idea of give to beastmasters the skill of ride mobs will be nice, BUT the mount as reward must be for all ppl who stay.

Not really. By your logic any game where you can ride any monster other than a Chocobo feels like WoW or every other MMORPG. Not true in the slightest. Refer to my previous post on the first page. There's no logical reason why we shouldn't be allowed to ride them.

the lala-fell's chocobo is smaller than the others. so would a lala-fell get a baby drake?

I played WOW time ago, got 2 drakes, a flying carpet, a kimera, a bear and a big pink bird. Everyone there has one or another mount and wasnt so horrible, so why have a special mount (some kind of drake or any special mob) will be soooo bad? It will be just a reward for ppl who stay, and with the time a point of distinction. I cant wait to see how will be >.<

Because making mob mounts exclusive to Beastmaster is more interesting for the Beastmaster class. If anyone can do it, what's the point of that?

But if it's already decided that they are special mounts, I don't see that it's an issue to pick over, especially for me who has no interest in those mounts anyway. I'd rather have something... prettier. :) Chocobo works and I'm happy with it. For everyone else excited, I'm happy for you.

Well, one condition, if my lala can have a Dormouse mount :P

Magitek mounts, sure. A myriad of mobs being flown and crawling around? No thanks. Separate mounts and mobs please.

I'm digging the Drake mount, although it was probably the most obvious candidate.

As fun quests and adding flavour to different areas, and in PvP, then I really want mounts. It will add points of interest to the game.

As a replacement to chocobos, im not too sure. I think they look tacky.

Im still not too sure though. I imagine seeing 100 Gobbue riders running around and the game starts being WAY TOO CARTOONY.

The chocobos are pretty gimmicky too, but there is still a nobility to them. Gobbues and ahriman and all these other stupid things, again, are just ruining the artistic fabric of the game when they are implemented as personal mounts.

This is FFXIV, not fucking Pokemon.

... Not particularly. I'd much rather have a few, iconic and particularly well-developed mounts rather than a system governing a large number of different looking ones in a likely fairly generic manner.

I guess.. if they could somehow do it really well, with complexity and marked difference between mounts and so on, then, maybe? But.. that's a bit.. I don't know. And that's setting aside the fact that aesthetically speaking, it seems pretty iffy.

Anyway I vote no, for now.

I cannot wait to sit my little Lalafell ass on my Goobues head. Also, I want them to have there own "chocobo music" for instance, with the Goobue, I want to hear Sanctuary of Zi'tah music. YES PLEASE and THANK YOU! (DO IT!)

They probably wouldn't be replacements to chocobos since they are getting entire systems added specifically for them so you could gear up, train and battle with them. Kinda like pokemon!
