Since I've been complaining about behavior lately, I thought it might be fun to do a df confession thread. What's the worst thing you've ever done on the battlefield? Lets make this a positive no judge zone. :)

The worst thing - not been drinking beer during raids.
Leaving Mhach after the first boss.
A lot.
My conscience stings me for it, but I just can't be bothered anymore, I just want my gloves and be done with that stupid raid, but RNG is cruel >_>
getting my dailies done while falling asleep at the wheel. Sometimes I'm barely aware of whats going on and my reaction time is measured in seconds.
Worst thing I've done, is quit an AV run on the first room when we couldn't even kill the first 3 mobs without a wipe. This was me as an Ast when I know how to play my class.
DPS would stand in pools, I get aggro almost immediately and tank can't hold hate.
I've auto-run facepulled a few bosses. As a DPS.
I've purposely pulled bosses with Foe's Requiem in 24-man raids. I wait until all the player dots have reached the boss arena though. Not really because I'm in a hurry or anything, but my troll side tends to come out in 24-mans.
I've spammed the first teleporter in Syrcus Tower and Labyrinth before anyone's activated the second. Again, my troll side showing.
I've purposely eaten attacks in instances where a debuff stacks just to see how high I could get it before I died. A few friends I know engage in this behavior. Vulnerability debuffs are referred to by us as "stacks of courage". Of course, I don't do this as much if I queued solo.
I will leave a duty within 20 seconds if I see anyone wearing incorrect gear (such as STR BRDs, INT MNKs, MND SMNs, etc), without exception.
If the players are especially bad, I will wait until the first boss and fake d/c mid fight.
..letting people die under my watch, because my back/nose/whatsoever is itching.
I mean duh, multitasking is just a myth!
I try to be as good as possible so the run goes smoothly....or at least as smooth as possible depending on my party.
I think the worst thing I've done is tell a party fairly nicely in A5 normal something like do you want any tips on your jobs bc we wont be able to wi) after 5 wipes on hummelfaust bc they couldn't beat the dps check/healer couldn't keep tank up & they kicked me
Ooh & after a 25 minute Qarn HM run I told the NIN to "study up on NIN<3" & immediately left bc I feel like I was doing 70%-80% of the party's damage...I mean don't quote me on that but jeez he used death blossom on 3,2 & even 1 target & consistently ripped aggro from the tank.
Annnd a few times I have let pulling/ignorant dps(who deserved it believe me) die as healer or tank
Other than those things I try really really hard to be like an npc so no mistakes or speaking so I have no interesting stories.
Worst thing I've done was tell a person he'll stay dead if he deliberately allows himself to die due to face tanking mechanics again. Minor arguments here and there, but nothing that'd involve justification for me being kicked from a run or something.
Hmm. The worst? I was leveling PLD which I really do not enjoy. Got SV with a dragoon that would not stop running ahead and pulling crap to drag to me. I finally got fed up and asked him to stop. He then proceeded to pull the second boss. I stepped back out of the boss room, let the door lock me out and watched the rest of the party wipe.
You spank it, you tank it.
Once someone said something like "Wow, can you actually learn to tank?"
Popped Raw Intuition and turned to face them as I immediately was cut down, "Yeah, learn to heal first." was my response. They left.
I got kicked from a SV HM. Only time I've ever been kicked aside from power outages that are more than five minutes, my patience was wearing thin with baby pulls on my SCH and I "face pulled" some mobs. Tank got irked, my internet blinked, and they probably jumped at the chance to kick me.
Back in 2.0 when I was either leveling GLA for provoke or just leveling Warrior to get some Tanking experience for the expansion (and faster expert roulette)I qued up for Tam Tara on my leveling roulette which was going fine until the healer decided to leave out of the blue. Not a problem though, because a Scholar showed up right away and we were at the Boss door anyways, so I decide to pull since everyone was there. Well, I noticed that I'm taking a lot of damage and getting like no heals... I forgot to let the Scholar summon a pet (which he let me know as I died.)
That was my first embarrassing newb/noob low level tanking experience. Thankfully, I have improved.
This is something my boyfriend and I did and I think it's one of the worst things we've ever done.
We were in ST (back when it was the latest 24man) and I was on my SCH and he was on WHM (we like to switch it up). He and I are both switching in and out of Cleric, healing and DPSing and being totally in sync. We had one melee DPS who wasn't dodging things and dying, but other than that our party was pretty good.
And then this melee DPS is like, "This WHM really sucks. Please play better. :)" We ignore it 'cause we just assume this guy is salty. Ignoring him makes him angrier and he's starting to throw insults at my boyfriend. We try to vote kick and it doesn't go through.
So the boss gets pulled and my boyfriend says, "How about we just don't heal him?"
So I unsummon my fairy and we stop healing this guy. He dies. I resummon my fairy. Complains in Alliance chat and demands heals because his healers aren't healing him. The other Alliances can't be bothered to deal with this drama, so they don't. We kill Amon without him and move to the final boss. Our PLD turns out to be, the DPS's friend, cross-classes Cure and starts to heal his friend and riot blade the boss. He's also now throwing insults at the two of us. So my boyfriend and I stop healing him too.
This DPS explodes into a rage. Swearing at the both of us, threatening to come find us and kill us. All sorts of really nasty stuff. The party is thoroughly annoyed by all this they're like, "Dude, you kinda deserve it for being a dick for no reason. Our bad for not kicking you. Yes, these healers are being kind of overdramatic, but you need to chill out."
So this guy starts swearing at the rest of the party too! When we finish the raid, he continues to scream and complain and hold up the loot rolls so he can keep us--and the whole party there hostage as he continues. I'm pretty sure he got reported or something 'cause after about 2 minutes, he suddenly disappears from the run mid insult.
I am definitely not proud of it, I wouldn't call it a shining example of maturity (though we did try! We ignored him and he continued anyway). But I find the whole mess really funny now, since it happened well over a year ago. I guess this is also a PSA that, maybe if your healers have the same last name, don't insult one/both of them 'cause they are probably a couple/friends and will probably stop healing you? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (I'm stealing your emote, ReiRei and you can't stop me!)
In my head it definitely looked more like this.

When I was title hunting, and wanted the one for having all ARR relics.
MNK and WAR were still missing as I have never touched those classes since 1.x
Slapped on some makeshift gear and jumped straight into Titan, Ifrit and Garuda anyway.
My basic tanking instinct saved me from completely embarrassing myself on WAR which went surprisingly smooth,
but I might as well have rolled my face over the keyboard for MNK. Especially during Titan, after like the 5th raise or something I told the healer to just stop wasting her MP on me.
I'm the first to complain about people entering duties without any knowledge of their class, or without appropriate gear, for that matter. But I just couldn't be arsed to learn the entire class for this ONE quest..u,U
I never do anything that can be considered bad or wrong, with maybe one exception.
If I'm a tank, I let die every DPS/healer who pulls before me because they're trying to force a speedrun. "Not in my run, boy" Well, I don't do it always, only sometines when I'm sick of idiots speedrunnig every sinlge fucking thing in the game and complaining because "it is too slow". I usually end with a "You like tanking? :3"
I have fallen asleep during a few dungeons. I'm so sorry, but if I'm tome farming, anima grinding, or EXP grinding, by the end of the day It can be tiring. I feel so bad though.
I don't use my buffs in trash pulls.
Like, ever.
I'm too /lazy and I like to make sure I have the super pewpew when we hit a boss.
A few weeks back, I was farming Brayflox normal with FC mate for the Battlemage body set. He was at level 60 and obliterating everything while I basically did nothing. After a while, he needs a break. Cool. I queue on my own. First run, no problems. Second... my heals suddenly do next to nothing and can barely keep the tank alive. Turns out in all those farm runs earlier, my gear had dipped below 10% and I didn't notice. By the second DF run, everything broke. I was basically naked. Group was pretty chill about it but ugh. Talk about a stupid moment. x.x
My worst episode was when I was doing a premade with a group of "friends" (I only knew the leader: the other 2 were his friends) and we were doing Hullbreaker (normal, it was during ARR). We ended up in a heated arguement where I decided to leave halfway, thinking to make a joke and rejoin afterwards and shout "scaaaared huhhh?". However I had no idea that premade teams couldn't be reached from DF so in the end they had to disband, the "friend" got super pissy and we stopped talking.
I don't regret it though, he wasn't a nice person anyway. Good riddance!
I zone out while tanking the last boss of Hullbreaker hard mode, a lot.
I fall asleep all the time as a healer when I sign up for something late at night, it seems amazing to me that someone actually feels bad about doing that xD
Then again, nobody has ever died during those minutes of sleep, so..I'm convinced now that I can keep up with a party and heal even with my eyes closed and my conciousness gone..°-°
"Oh hey, there's a Summoner in the party, I'm gonna help him! :D"
*pulls Ramuh with Foe Requiem which results in the party abruptly starting the fight at 50% HP*

I roll Need whenever I can.
And Greed whenever I can't.
Entire raid sets I'll collect once.
Cards and Minions I'll happily grab thrice.
They call me a 'Loot Whor...Horse"
You give me flak and talk smack.
Friends turn into ranters.
Enemies frothing banter.
Complaining I'm Greedy for "Needing".
"Now look HERE!" I say heeding:
"Needing" raises Desynth
"Greeding" desynths into gil.
Left overs are Company Seals..
..Auction housed minions..
..And easy MGP at will.
"But that gear piece has Parry! And it's not best in slot!"
"Give it to my sub job, on you it will ROT!!"
"Nay!" says the Hawkins; adamant with desire!!
You don't need it for progression. This set is mine.
It's called Fending for a reason; it's Glamour divine
It may not even be useful; at this point in time...
But I know someone with a higher ilvl than yours.
My retainer can wear this, he does my chores.
I'm following your loot rules and will not atone.
Now wait for YOUR loot turn, and leave MINE alone!

You left out that fact the NIN was doing his best and was new, or at least level 50 because they were not sync'd, while all you did was try and one up the tank, pull before she could, and generate as much emnity that the tank was MP starved that whole run
<tanked that run
Were you a bad person?
Abosolutely not, you are a complete and utter B$*%@
As a healer, I've intentionally let people die during every conceivable content for any number of reasons. >.>;
Also, sometimes I get super lazy on dungeon runs and just Divine Seal + Regen or Asylum + Regen the tank and AFK til the pull/boss is over.
No that's how I play BLM & I NEVER pull before my tanks, if I did it was an accident or I was mid cast while you just pulled(this can be a pain for maintaining aggro) & I didn't try to one up anyone I promise, I was trying to finish the run as fast as possible bc 50 is torture to me(so is level). And I called no one names either so need to be rude, we're civilized people :/ no need to get so angry over a game that name calling is uncalled for.
No offense to the NIN but I have just grown sooooo very tired of people not able to play at 50(or 60) but in my experience, if I tell them tips or anything they shred me to pieces so I just decided that run I was gonna say something quickly so they got the idea & took it as either "I play how I want stfu" or "hmm guess I should do something about it" before I left w/o being mean ie: "you suck die grr im mean" bc social interactions are not my strong suit & people hurt my feelings easily ie: what you just said.
I'm sorry you took offense. I always do get paranoid that when I rip aggro a lot tanks assume I am trying to on purpose...I mean why would dps WANT aggro, I'd be dead in a heartbeat idgi, anyway uh...yeah okay that's all. Have a nice day. And I shall just keep my mouth shut next time as to not hurt anyone. I apologize to you & the Ninja sincerely. I do see how what I said could be taken wrong. Please don't jump to name calling next time, it makes you no better than me.
I DPS when I play healer.
I intentionally let tanks health get butt-clenchingly low.
I did hullbreaker HM today on my whm and it was (shamefully) very entertaining to see my tank running around like a chicken when their health dipped to about 103 before I cast Benediction ;)
Happened about 2-3 times. My laziness to click CS off was very strong in me today.
Sometimes if there's a SMN or a MCH I Fluid Aura and blame them.
I've also been committed to tanking things in weird places simply because... I accidentally got there because I'm new and didn't want anyone to think it was a mistake. Don't argue with your tank, I meant to do this.
If I notice a healer standing around not dps'ing, I stop dodging attacks and sometimes purposefully run into them. If they only want to heal, that's what they'll be doing nonstop.
I stop healing DPS who pull before the tank. (Although I've only seen it a few times.)
First, I ask them to stop.
Second, I try to vote kick them after the 5 minutes is up IF they are rolling on loot. A lot of the time they won't roll on loot so they can't be kicked.
If they are still doing it, I stop healing them. Let them die and refuse to revive them.
I do the same thing for other WHM is Praetorium and Castrum who spam regen and Medica II.
You pull it? Then you tank it.
Confessions? Hmmm..... ok, easy. Sometimes i play in lazy-mode on trash pulls. Whats lazy mode? For my BLM its a slightly simplified rotation and no buff usage. I still do mechanics/dodges, and i still differentiate between AoE and single target situations, but im holding back a little and i know it. This sometimes makes me self-conscious if theres another BLM in the party, because it feels more obvious. Even in a lazy mode run though, i do my absolute best to turn bosses into the tiniest of fine vapor particles. Ill also step things up if i see the party struggling with anything... but how often do trash pulls stress a party?
I had a story but I wanted to actually mention something else as I thought about it. I will and always will defend the little guy, what do I mean by that? IF someone says it's their first time I give them a pass also if they mention they are learning. We all aren't pros. I was in a dungeon and this poor healer was getting smashed by this fuck of all bitch ass wanna be pro tank. This was some time ago but I let the tank have it. Tank " She shouldn't be wasted our time" Me " BITCH! How is she/he posed to fucking learn IF dumbasses like you can't fucking READ THAT THEY ARE NEW?!!?" Sorry for the swearing but that really is a major thing with me. Fuck elitist and their fucked up mindset. Noone NO ONE starts at pro... so people need to stop acting like you can.
That was my lowest moment in a Dungeon as I normally try to stay on the " saving the world from evil demons who steal our icecream- But even a goofball like me has his limits.
