Lalafell should be able to be barefoot

hii^^

yeah, we had this barefoot story and the sandals you can't take off a few times in this forum. in the end the argument ends always with "we need the sandals to adjust the height of the heel". this may be true for other races, but not for Lalafell. the Lalafell sandals are flat, there is no heel. it should be no problem to just replace them with a model of the bare foot - wich is already in the game, since we have seen Nanamo Ul Namo barefoot.

i know, some will say it is unfair to only let Lalafell be barefoot, yeah, probably it is is unfair. but on the other hand it is not more unfair than Lalafell have no tail or horns or whatever.
when a Lalafell is barefoot he looks even cuter, so it fits the race perfect. so it's race-specific - end of that discussion xD

- please remove the sandals at least for Lalafell o.o/

So I do apologize for asking this, but I'm struggling to understand why this is relevant and am curious to know why this should be done when there are so many other issues with much greater importance to handle. It's possible that it might happen whenever the character design overhaul happens in 4.0 or whenever it was suggested, but I don't mind being forced to sandals if it means some reasonable content like apartments or final raids or other major content get done faster.

It's not really something I'm opposed to though. I just don't get it is all.

I'm all for this as long as they do it as part of what I call a "de-precious-moments-dollification" of their body model. Make with the hobbits or halflings!

Hmm... Correct me if I'm wrong. But I thought there were more races but lala that couldn't have horns/tails etc. =/

because glamour is true endgame xD i just want to play as a barefoot, shaman-like white mage :O

i have asked the question for being barefoot the first time in the beta-forum. sure, there is other content wich has to be done too. but there always is. it's 3 years now since i first asked for this.

and since the argument with the heel is causing so much developement time, i now try to ask just for lalafell, because there really is no heel, so it should not be that much of work to remove these sandals.

sure, they should. but if it's so much work like everyone said, why does the lalafell - where it is probably not that complicatet - have to wear these sandels too? it's both selfish, my question and your argument ^^

I would be against this is if it's not implemented for all races.
My character IS a lala, and I do wish to remove my shoes when I'm wearing a swimsuit, but it wouldn't be fair to others :/

I don't get your logic saying it would be ok for lalas to be barefoot but not other races because they don't have tails or horns.

It's already unfair that we're so short, so I think it's an acceptable trade-off.

The racist/discrimination smell is strong in this thread :rolleyes: , like how the hell you say other race not suitable to barefoot while only lalafell can?

I think everyone should be able to be barefoot if they want.

Actually, it doesn't seem to be true for any of them. It's a possible reason which somebody or other always speculates about whenever the topic comes up, but we've already got different shoes giving us shorter or higher heels than others. That pretty well disproves the premise of their needing to maintain the heel at that same height in each case. So having to always have shoes of some sort (even if it's just sandals) seems to be a purely stylistic choice by SE, not a technical one, and it's one I don't agree with. Let players choose individually whether they want to wear sandals or be barefoot.

This is why is every rotten Lalafell should be driven into the sea.

I'm 100% for euality among character models. Lalafell feet might be a quick fix compared to the others though.

Do barefoot models of other races exist in the game already? Making Lala's barefoot should be as easy as dragging and dropping nanamo's barefoot file into the directpry where the lalafells get their feet models, from so the change would only take the devs a few seconds.

Making new bare feet for all the races would take more time, and if they're going to go and give all the characters new feet models then I'd like new torso models as well, so all female races wearing the bikini aren't forced to be Miquote sized in the bust.

you probably missunderstood me. i am not against barefeet for all races. i said "at least lalafell" because if there is an technical issue to implement it, i can't see it for the lalafell race. and when there is no technical issue, why not just remove those sandals?
the whole idea comes from the argument that the heel of the sandals are needed to adjust the characters height and when you remove the sandals the character would be floating in the air - wich is not true for lalafell. when it is not true for any race, yeah, then the whole topic is pointless >.>

I vote to have the Emperor's New Boots/Shoes changed to bare feet for everyone!

Actually this not true for any race if you look at the recent Moonfire sandals.

Most are referring to the height and heel of most shows like the lady's clogs as why it can't be done

so there be no floating unless someone was really trying to look for it.

It feels, to me, that it'd make them more similar to traditional Hobbits & other races based upon them in other games. I like that FFXIV is standing apart.

There could also be the matter of a 'decency' requirement in certain locales which would affect the rating or availability of the game as a whole. For example, many Arabic & Muslim influenced countries forbid showing the sole of the foot & class it the same as showing breasts.
