How can they make the Deep dungeon interesting if the mechanics won't be anything to worry about?
I'm not seeing it. Feel free to prove me wrong though since I want to be wrong.
Simply it won't. It will be a casual gaming experience that you can complete in 2 hours. The first 50 lvls that we will have now they will be too easy. In 3.4/3.5 they will add another 150 lvls. The story of Deep Dungeons ends at lvl 100. lvls 101-200 are the hard lvls. For now we can welcome a short lived content which we will complete in just 1 day. I hope I'm totally wrong but all interviews point towards a too easy faceroll on keyboard/gamepad short lived content and nothing more. At least for now. I really hope I read wrong.
In a later adjustment to this they are adding a leader board (per job) to track who gets the furthest. I assume that 101-200 will be a respectable challenge due to the fact that a leader board would be pointless if it wasn't. 1-100 is more or less a "Here's a slightly less boring way to get a trickle of xp that isn't fates." If the rate isn't awful or scales to your level percentage wise then it shouldn't be a horrible trade off. On the other hand, if it comes out and doesn't at least grant tomes very few players are going to bother with it if they are finsished/ing their relic.
You guys do know the Deep Dungeon is more of a "challenge how far a player can go" type of content?
Entering with a group is just for extra fun but the main thing for Deep Dungeon is to see how far a player can go into the place solo without the help of any players.
It was said in a earlier dicussion about Deep dungeon that the only players on the leader board are those who enter Deep Dungeon Solo and Solo the place. Those who enter Deep Dungeon with a group of players will not be on the Leader Board but their progress will be saved.
I'm ready to be disappointed.
They said they will be able to reach all floors solo if they put effort into leveling their Deep Dungeon gear but will be much harder than trying to reach higher floors with a group since players will not get aid from a healer, dps, and/or tank player when attempting to test themselves by soloing Deep Dungeon.
After all the main goal of the Deep Dungeon is to see how far players can go alone.
I dunno. I feel like people want a reason to complain so they hope the thing they looking forward to fails in order to justify said complaints and go "told you so". I mean, if you are already expecting it to fail, then it seems like you're looking forward to being disappointed cause you're predisposed to it.
What reward will we get by completing until 50th floor? Looking at the mysterious girl?
I'm prepared for it, base on the information they've already given us. I'm not hoping for it. They more or less said it would be faceroll easy. This means it will be disappointing for me, as I was looking forward to much more. That said, there's still hope for floors 101-200. But we're not getting that yet.
Wait, so you guys really werent expecting the first bit of the deep dungeon to be easy?
The first part added literally has you leveling up throughout it. I never expected it would be that hard until after you hit 60 in it at least
They already said the challenge part of it will be floors 100-200 which will be added 3.4-3.5 somewhere i believe
On mobile so cant edit but wanted to add:
Seriously guys, we were told a while ago that the real "challenging" part of the Deep Dungeon isnt until floors 100+, I dont know why you guys would be expecting elsewise unless you werent keeping up
That feeling when you try to read it and you find out they decide to have maintenance TODAY

Google Cache is your friend :P
Any clarification on how this will be balanced for tanks/healers, or will it just be a "showcase your mad DEEPS from your NON-DPS JOB" type schtick? I mean, if it's truly solo (so no NPCs to guard or heal)...doesn't it's difficulty as a tank or healer essentially boil down to whichever role can do the most DPS despite their primary function? If so, I'd expect SCHs and WARs to dominate the top of the list.
Has this been discussed at all? Sorry if I've missed it.
Nope. All they said was it's "role-free" and you can go in with 4 of anything. It's balanced for that kind of matching. There are resurrection pylons that raise the entire party and a bunch of items you can get from chests. They said at least for the "casual" floors you don't need heals but if you are worried to bring potions or something. Who knows about 101+, but those won't be in the game for a while.
Am I the only one who thinks it could be easy AND fun? Obviously the first 50 floors (and probably the rest of the floors) aren't supposed to be a raid-level challenge, they never promised it would be. It's there to give people a solo activity that has some progression and is low-pressure. Sounds like a good way to chill out and have fun exploring a new area when I don't feel like doing group content.
Plus, the long-term plan is to have the lower floors become progressively harder so that regardless of your skill level, you'll eventually hit a challenging point. We'll have to see if the balance allows for enough challenge for everyone, but I think the idea is good. Not every bit of content in the game has to be max difficulty, and clearly the idea here is to create something with a low barrier to entry so that you can improve your skills as you play, rather than having to be the best before you even start.
I'm actually feeling pretty optimistic about this.
Aquapolis turned out to be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to more small group activities I can do with my FC friends. :)
The only thing I'm worried about is the low number of save files. It probably won't matter much for the first 50 floors since they've said you'll be able to get through them all in a couple of hours but it may be more of a concern once you aren't guaranteed to be able to finish at all if you have a lot of different people you want to run with.
I think we should just accept the way SE is pushing out content right now, be glad they saved something for us after the initial 3.3, and try to influence the development of 3.4, 3.5 and 4.0 even more
so war and sum/sch will pass trough this like butter and ninja/BM will get murdered ?
well that's their reason to reduce the cool downs on potions and as mentioned in other interviews that it's recommended to have those in your inventory. However in some earlier interviews they mentioned that the floors are different, for example some are great for healers/tanks while others rely on large amounts of dps. They might have dropped that idea since I haven't heard SE mentioning anything about that in the last 2 live letters/interviews.
