4.0 new character model wish

instead of a new race with 4.0 i think SE should give us more character models for the current race. I would love a updated hume or elf person

I'm inclined to agree, but only because I have more or less accepted that every new race is just going to be humans with minor animal attachments.

If that's all new races bring to the table, might as well not bother and instead make more customization options for the existing ones.

I'm all for more customization. Wonder what they have planned...

Much rather them have some new animations or refine the ones we have now. New races are just gonna be more work for all the gearsets, especially if they're going to stick with the same proportions as a hyur.

I agree, while I think Au Ra are a nice addition I can only believe "We lived on such & such continent and not a single one of our race ever decided to come over to Eorzea until now, & now we are LEGION!!!!!" for so long lol.

And considering all races/gender only have 4 faces to choose from (discluding midlanders cause for some reason they get 5 -_-), it would be nice if they added some new face options.

I would roll male Elezen so fast, if only they had a Aymeric/Alphinaud (any handsome Elezen face) and they fixed the awfull running animation.

Its simple SE, remove a fugly face from the male Elezen, give them Aymeric face and give the male Elezen race the male midlander run/sprint or the male Au Ra run/sprint. Male Elezen population will increase by 100x.

Yes please I would also line more customization to the existing races. 3-4 faces are simply not enough. And please no more different Miqo'te like races. Enough with the tail/ear people. The current races scream for more customization options.

I'd be game if it meant I could make my girl characters as tall as the guys could get (And guys as short as the girls could get) and we all have more diverse facial options.. I could care less about butts though so w/e on that >_>

I would absolutely love new faces for this game and more textured bodies. I find you can find a unique look with all of the new dyes/armors/clothes and hairstyles they constantly release. However, the face department in this game is HIGHLY lacking. There should not be "preset faces", we should be able to pick a nose from one to match the eyes of another and then further customize each option much like gw2. Please SE, cure the "same face" epidemic in this game.

Miqo'te need more options for everything, if only to make the legions of catgirls less same-y. Pretty much everyone wants to mix and match Au Ra horns and faces. Or how about having different kinds of body types, so characters could be skinnier/stockier in addition to having adjustable height? Lots of stuff they could do to add variety.

Something something PS3 limitations.

Biggest things for me is some additional options for Au'ra faces/scales, and being able to pick a different run animation (this coming from fem Midlanders).

This would then make the crab-claw horns nearly non-existent. I'm sorry but those horns are atrocious and clips with a lot of the hairstyles. Most would agree with me here.:rolleyes:

But alas it's not likely to happen cause body hair is...not popular in Japan, heck even girls have to shave the hair off their arms so...yeah :(

I mean it just makes sense. Adding a new playable race requires every piece of gear in the game to be adjusted to fit the model. On top of that work needs to be done to ensure they 'fit' correctly in cut-scenes. Then there's the matter of animation work...which only gains in difficulty as more and more new emotes are added to the game.

Therefore adding to the existing options for the current batch of playable races will do a world of good. I would happily play a Highlander Male, for instance, if they add some real options for eyebrows and in addition to that give some more classically handsome options for facial features.

Miqo'te and Hyur Midlander are the two most customizatable races. The other races
need more options in order to balance the discrepancy between model selections.

Races like Au Ra, Hyur Highlander, Roegadyn, and even Elezen (due to the duplicate faces) need serious help in the customization department.
Sadly the Dev team has only been adding hairstyles in each update and I honestly doubt the PS3 is the issue if they are able to pump more and more

You wont be seeing them adding new jaw options for Female Roegadyn or Female Au Ra, or a 5th new face for Elezen and Hyur Highlander and putting that in a trailer on its own.
Especially Female Roegadyn, Elezen, and Highlander due to how utterly unpopular they are compared to Miqo'te, lalafell and Au Ra.

If they were to add any new model upgrades it would have to be everything, and all in one big update.
This is probably the reason why we haven't heard anything on the subject either and why its only been hairstyles. It could possibly take a lot of development to do this for every race.

I just want a butt slider

I would play a male Au Ra for the same reason. Their running animation is so stupid. Their feet dont move at the same speed that they do. Their standing idle emote is... No offence to anyone but really really gay. Like... Im all down for Michael Williams or Darren Young gay but not like... Richard Simmons gay. At least not if I'm running a Dark Knight.

I always like having more options.

At the very least, breaking facial features away from being tied to specific faces.
