Chinese/Korean servers : New exclusive mount

As I said on the french general discussion thread (here), this is the new asian servers exclusive mount :

I won't even talk of the gear which is cool... No ! I wanted to talk first of this goden/awesome/sick/etc mount which will never arrive in Europe/US. This turn me crazy. I didn't complain when the "Oriental Dragon" mount were released. It was just a Behemoth dressed for the Chinese New Year, why not... But this time, seriously ... Gosh ! Why don't we have this kind of exclusive mount on origins servers (a.k.a not Korean or Chinese data centers). Cuz' it's not from our culture? This is unfortunate because I think that since Toriyama and his famous Goku's Kinto'un (I think that's how many have discovered the Chinese legend of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, and his ability to use clouds to move).

I think I can say without exaggeration that this is the kind of mount tons of people would love to obtain... So, yeah, I do this forum thread with hope that we can be heard by Square Enix (Square Enix Japan especially) to propose to have this mount on our servers also. (And if possible not to one or two year(s) later as we just had for the newly arrived minions on the mog station store).

I trust that Bayohne will forward this message to dev's. (then I hope that they'll change their mind about this mount and give us the possibility to get it too !)

I didn't care much about China/Korea stuff, but this I want.

We should ask to have our own exclusive mounts, too. Don't just ask to get the mount from those separate servers.

WTF why do they keep doing this.... I want this so much! How is it that they get exclusive mounts?!

My question is why ? Why would any compagny give a regional restricted month ? I mean its sure that you will piss off a big part of your community.

What's the Korean exclusive item?

Not to be THAT person, but I doubt they'll give these items to us especially now with people doing what they're doing with the current promotional items.

Besides I hear China has a different/more expensive payment method. Let them get some good stuff :>

If I remember correctly Chinese and Korean regions bought copy rights so they have the right to do/add/remove/change a lot of things meanwhile it doesn't change Ffxiv game. It is like any other mmo where each region has their own things/promotions/events/gifts, but they still have to follow the basic of the game. We should ask for our own exclusive items.

That cloud is amazing though... I didn't care much about any of the other exclusive items they got, but that cloud.... ;-;

According to the page linked to... the new mount will be included w/ the China patch 3.2 release. Which means they are still on patch 3.1. So they may get exclusive mounts... we have access to the latest dungeons/gear/quests/etc...

BTW Doesn't the Chinese version of the game lack the Gold Saucer. If this were the case, it also lack Triple Triad, Chocobo racing, Lord of Vermilion, etc etc.

Edit: According to Reddit, they do have the same content included w/ the Gold Saucer. My mistake.

A lot of people asked for this when the year of the monkey new years event was going on. Kinda funny that other regions did it instead.

"Blame the people for the fact that the system is flawed" Yes. Let's do that. It's not our fault that Amazon does not enforce their rules, let alone the fact that they also refused to use the Mog Station and instead offered to do a promotional deal with Amazon. Pointing fingers in the wrong place... and on the matter of their payment method, that's them, not us. Why we should be penalized for the fact that they have to pay for one 24 hour session of gaming is none of my business, especially when Square Enix themselves asked us what we wanted to see in the NA/DE/FR/JP version of the game from the CH/KR versions of the game...

Most likely, if these things do end up being 'localized', then we'll probably see them in the Mog Station anyways.

It's to attract people to the game. FFXIV isn't doing as well as expected in China. Thus they've started including exclusive content as an incentive to bring people to the game. They still are reportedly on patch 3.1... with the new mounts and outfits coming in patch 3.2. Chill... all the stuff we have in patch 3.3 they won't have for at least another four months, and by that time will have patch 3.4.

A lot of the seasonal events aren't in the Korean and Chinese servers (for various reasons)

A Cloud as a mount, I'm not really a big mount collecter but this one I would want.

You seem to have a hard time admitting we just want everything other FFXIV players get exclusively on their servers or regions, I believe Square Enix should just distribute everything globally, except for crazy places where certain things are too objectionable to do so, I don't mean only China but everywhere such things happened!...

I don't really care about Goku's cloud mount since I don't really like the monkey king's adventure but whatever, if we get another mount it's just more for us!...

Now if SE does decide to bring other servers/regions' exclusive items we could also get the Chinese dress they got a while ago, that would make for a nice glamour!... ;)

I'd love to have this mount too, honestly i don't get why other regions have exclusives and we don't, to me it would all be released worldwide.

Here's hoping it comes to the rest of XIV, that mount is amazing.

I'm not a fan of highly desirable items being region exclusive. Surely similar items can be designed and distributed in the other regions for the sake of fairness?

I'm a 33 years old gamer and playing MMO's for the past 17 years and I can't remember any single game MMo or not having an exclusive items bound to a region (beside those exluded by the contry laws like all the stuff china censure).

oh please god let them add this to the cash shop. a Sun Wukong flying cloud is the ONLY thing i've asked for since we got flying. T_T

Your argument is not so good. In the long run, The Chinese/Korean servers will have everything else that we have in addition to a bunch of cool unique items that NA/EU players will never have access to. These terrible region locked promotions lead to exactly these kind of complaints. I think most of us can live with recolors or reskin of already existing mounts, but a brand new mount that we have no equivalent to is just a kick in the groin. We have never had an exclusive NA/EU mount and it's starting to feel extremely biased when the Asian communities get exclusive promos and we don't get any.

It's easy to see that we are an afterthought when it comes to promotions. The only NA/EU promos we seem to get are of the mog station variety, lol. Look forward to paying $30 for the cloud mount three years from now.

When over 90% of the endgame player base does not even raid, what do you think people consider their endgame? Get over the short sighted opinion that "it's not game breaking so It does not matter" because it only comes off as "this item does not matter to me so it should matter to no one."

People care about glamour, mounts, minions, etc just as much as gear and raiding in this game.

Daaaaamn, yeah, I'd love the mount (and also the outfit) to come over to the West, even if it's through *grumble* MogStation.

I distinctly remember asking for Sun Wukong stuff for Chinese nnew year....

Pft i couldnt care less about the exclusive clothes or mounts but i will kill for this Sun Wukong set.. id even play DRG. I hate playing DRG.

Sigh. What happened with the Amazon promotion will always happen, and is expected by any company involved. JP players would have exploited the very same loophole if they had an option. That being said, the vast majority of people don't abuse the system because they typically want something. 95% of people will simply buy something from Amazon.com. The idea pre-order cancelling will have any impact on future promotions is disingenuous. Especially in the context of the Chinese version. It's a restrictive game, on a separate database, with content designed by a different company. That is why they occasionally get unique stuff no other Country does.

Rather have unique armors than mounts. More wasted effort imo. <_<
